ed against each other on their horses. While it THE THUNDERING sound of hooves filled the forest as Siegrend was no surprise that Ezra would easily outpace Siegren in their res altaying spent countless hours racing through these woods, the Alpha King didn't find it challenging. The trees blurred by as they galloped through the winding paths, leaves. rustling underfoot and branches swaying above them. Siegren then urged his horse to run at its maximum speed, determined to surpass his opponent. When he finally caught up, Ezra's eyes widened in surprise as he thought he wouldn't be able to catch up anymore but unfortunately for him, Siegren was also used to racing inside the forest and was more than confident in winning the race. As Siegren's horse drew nearer, it gracefully leaped and landed on the ground, causing Ezra to frown but he quickly composed himself and urged his horse to keep up with Siegren. He needed to find a way to distract him until they passed, so when a random question popped into his mind, he couldn't help but smirk. "Your Majesty," Ezra called as he followed him behind. Siegren heard him but didn't bother answering as he was only here for the race, not to waste his breath on someone as unimportant as Ezra. "Are you in love with Helga-I mean, the Queen?" Siegren's hand tightened around the horse's reins, a small twitch running through his finger. The question itself was surprising enough to cause his focus to slip for just a moment, and that was exactly what Ezra intended for him to do. He took advantage of the brief distraction and swiftly moved to stand by Siegren's side, fixating his gaze on him as if expecting

an answer

"Or was your love for her merely a result of the mate bond?" Ezra prodded, and Siegren remained silent. He could tell what Ezra was trying to do, and so, he decided it was best to ignore him until the moment they reached the finish line, as it was the safest course of action. However, as soon as the flag was already in sight. Siegren felt his horse suddenly halt, causing him to be thrown backward into the saddle as he held onto its reins tight, preventing himself from falling off. He then frowned when suddenly his horse just stopped, refusing to proceed towards the race. Ezra on the other hand looked at him before focusing his gaze forward, a smirk forming on his features. In that instant, Siegren realized that Ezra must have tampered with the horse before he was allowed to borrow it. But then again, what else would he expect from someone like Ezra? Playing fair was never in his nature. With a frustrated huff, Siegren tugged at the reins of his horse, urging it forward. But the animal remained stubbornly. rooted on the spot, its hooves digging into the soft ground. Realizing he had no other choice, Siegren sighed and dismounted, knowing he would have to transform into his wolf form if he wanted any chance of winning the race. As he shifted, his human form melted away and was replaced by a sleek and majestic black wolf.

"Well, the victory was mine from the start, Ezra muttered to himself as he smirked, but as soon as a deep, fierce growl echoed behind him, his whole body tensed and shuddered with fear. Even his loyal horse seemed to sense the danger, slowing down and causing Ezra to turn his head in alarm. And there, running amidst the trees, was a large, menacing black wolf with fiery red eyes that seemed to bore into his soul. The sight sent chills down his spine and his heart racing with terror. The terrified horse let out a loud whinny while Ivo, his rival in this race, darted past him and launched himself towards the flag. With one swift movement, he clamped his powerful jaws around the stick holding the flag and snatched up before sprinting back toward where Ezra had transformed into his wolf. "Fool," Siegren could still hear Ivo's voice as they continued on, leaving Ezra's wolf far behind. It was hard for him to accep that someone like Ezra, who couldn't even keep up with him over a short distance, was considered an Alpha.

When the Incarnadine pack house came into view, Ivo slowed his pace to a wary walk. He didn't want to startle anyone, especially since they were expecting him to return with a horse, not in the form of a wolf. As he emerged from the dense forest, all eyes turned towards him and widened in alarm. But as they caught sight of the flag clamped between his teeth a recognized his familiar presence, their tense stances relaxed. They then shifted their gaze to the lanky brown wolf padding closely behind him, its intelligent amber eyes scanning the group warily. No one knew what exactly happened and why th were in their wolf form, but one thing for certain-the Alpha King won the race. "Your Majesty?" Helga called out hesitantly, her heart pounding as it was the first time she had laid eyes on Siegren's wolf form. He was not only majestic and imposing, but he also exuded the same air of commanding presence and dominant a that she had always admired about him since they first met. 12:28 Fri, Oct 18 >Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
