LUCIFER'S HUMAN BRIDE

WEIRD ASSISTANT

When Ralph and Lucinda got out of the dark hole, Ralph stole a glance at her.

"Tomorrow you will go in there yourself and also jump across the lava alone." He commented with a cold expression. She acted surprised by raising her eyebrow. "How do you identify a demon?" she inquired.

"That's a good question; I already like you, and for the record, whenever I see a demon, my eyes turn black." He answered. Lucinda was surprised by this discovery, but she just kept quiet and followed him out of the secret passage with the wall closing on its own.

Back in hell, Lucifer was watching as Lucinda followed Ralph down the corridor and into an elevator in his right palm. Just seeing them together gave him a bad sensation. He sighed and closed his palm.

"She will be spending time with that human, and I hope she keeps her promise and ends his life soon." Lucifer said to himself, and in the blink of an eye, he disappeared to an enclosed room in his castle that had a pool, but it wasn't like any other regular pool; it was made of blood. He snapped his fingers, and his clothes fell off his body. He closed his eyes and fell into the pool.

After a long and stressful day at work, Lucinda was exhausted as her eyes were opened to the duties of an assistant. In a minute, she was learning how to copy papers for him, and in the next minute, she was running down floor after floor running errands for him. She thought her first day was going to be good since it was her first time, but she was wrong. To reward her for her hard work, Ralph took her to a fancy restaurant that was close to his company. Other employees also went to the restaurant. They both sat at a table together, facing each other. Lucinda was feeling a little nervous because he was staring right at her face; his expression was hard to read. Just then, a waiter walked over to their table and gave the two of them menus. Lucinda grabbed the menu, glancing at it.

"I would like some meatballs." Ralph ordered. Lucinda ran her eyes down the menu and settled her eyes on the last thing on the menu. "I will have noodles," she said, pointing at the menu. Ralph stole a glance at her as the waiter nodded his head and took note of their orders.

"The food will be ready in a jiffy." He said and walked away.

"So, Lucinda, where do you live around here?" He asked bluntly.

"Uh, it's about 70 miles away in an apartment with my sister; you shouldn't be asking me this; I gave you my CV." She replied sharply.

"Oh, right, I haven't checked your CV yet. I'm sorry for making you arrange your office today and do a lot of things, but I promise to make it up to you." He said in a soft tone.

"It's okay; it's not a big deal," Lucinda smiled as she noticed not only Ralph's employees but also the patrons of the restaurant staring at them. She looked down at the table, and the waiter quickly placed their foods on the table, hot and fresh. Her jaw dropped to the ground as she grabbed her fork. The food was nothing like she expected; it looked like tiny worms to her. While Ralph was busy eating his meat balls, she was just staring at her food. She took a deep breath and started poking the food with the fork, grabbing Ralph's attention.

"Why aren't you eating?" He asked chewing the food in his mouth as the waiter dropped two glasses of water on their table. She ignored him and placed the fork on top of the noodles, struggling to carry them on the fork after some unsuccessful attempts to carry the noodles it irritated Ralph.

"Is this your first-time seeing noodles?" He asked, surprised.

"Mmm hmmm." She mumbled.

"Don't worry; I'll teach you," he said and dropped his fork and gently held her hand from across the table and rolled the noodles on the fork before letting go of her hand. "That's how you eat it," he said, continuing to eat his food while shaking his head in disbelief.

Lucinda looked around, and everyone was still staring at her, whispering things to themselves that she couldn't hear. She managed to eat the rest of the noodles and drink water, sighing as she looked at Ralph, who was paying the bill. "Shall we go?" He asked, cleaning his mouth with a handkerchief. She cleaned her mouth with her hand instead and nodded in response.

She followed him out of the restaurant as he paused at the entrance, turning back to look at her.

"Why are you still following me? Where are you going?" He asked.

"To work," she answered.

"We are done for today; you can go home and rest," he replied. Lucinda tried to hide her delight; she smiled at him and bowed her head respectfully, attempting to leave when he called to her. "Lucinda." She slowly tilted her head to look at him.

"Huh?" she muttered.

"Let's exchange contacts." He said moving his hand in his pocket in an attempt to take out his phone.

"What is contact?" She asked in a dumb way, which caught him by surprise.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

"As in your phone number?" He inquired.

"Phone, phone, I don't have a phone," she replied bluntly.

"Are you kidding me? Why won't a grown woman like you have a phone?" He inquired. She gnashed her teeth in fear and looked away shyly.

"I-I..." He cut in.

"No need for excuses, I'll get you a phone tomorrow okay, and no coming late to work," he said, and began walking out on her, and before she knew it, he had vanished right before her eyes. She turned on her heels and started walking in the opposite direction of the road when she met the gazes of two guys that were standing in front of a building with their hands folded. She pretended not to see them and started walking at a fast pace, trying her best not to cause any more trouble, when she heard footsteps behind her and realized they were following her.

"Wait up, beautiful; I am talking to you. Are you alone?" one of them asked.

"Leave me alone; I am married!" she replied harshly.
