Chapter 882
Hayden turned to Keira, his eyes brimming with a mixture of agitation and fear.
Keira understood his concern. "Let's figure out what's going on first. We need to trust Yuna."
This was the OB-GYN department. It was unusual for a young, unmarried woman like Yuna to be here, and Hayden, as her protective older brother, had every reason to be uneasy.
Hayden had visited her before in Beijing, but Keira hadn't. Yuna didn't particularly like her, and she wasn't one to force her presence where it wasn't wanted. Keira had a clear conscience in the matter. According to Hayden, Yuna had been doing well at Beijing University, excelling in her studies. Yet, here she was in a place that didn't seem to fit. 3.
Yuna hadn't noticed them, but her demeanor betrayed her nerves. She frequently checked her phone and stared at the call screen anxiously.
After a while, she pulled out a book, seemingly trying to distract herself, but it didn't work. With a frustrated sigh, she slapped the book over her face. Hayden and Keira were concerned by her behavior, but they chose not to interrupt. It was better to wait and understand the situation first
Lena soon arrived, and Keira immediately pulled her aside. Before Keira could say anything, Lena jumped in.
"Don't overthink it. I just drank too much and overslept," she said, defensive.
"I haven't said anything yet. What are you confessing for?" Keira retorted, rolling her eyes before pointing in Yuna's direction. "Hayden's sister is here at your OB-GYN department. We're trying to keep our distance, but can you check what's going on with her?"
"Sure, I'll go say hi. But keep in mind, she specifically chose another doctor, probably because she didn't want any of us to know," Lena replied, her logic sound.
To ensure they were informed, Lena called Keira, put her phone on speaker, and left it near Yuna's attending physician. This way, Keira could hear their entire conversation.
"What's bothering you?" the doctor asked in a professional tone.
"I've been feeling itchy... down there. And there's an unusual smell," Yuna admitted hesitantly, her voice taut with embarrassment.
"Have you been sexually active?" The doctor's question was direct, even blunt.

"No!" Yuna's voice dropped to barely above a whisper.
"If you have, just tell me the truth. I'll need to examine you either way," the doctor said sterly, her tone like a strict disciplinarian.
"I haven't," Yuna insisted, her reply louder this time, though it carried a hint of
mortification.
The sound of the doctor typing furiously on her keyboard filled the air. After a moment, she stopped and said, "Your symptoms sound like a simple fungal infection. I won't do an examination for now. I'll prescribe a wash for you to use. If it doesn't improve after a week, come back and see me only me, not another doctor."
"Why?" Yuna asked, sounding almost naive.
"Because I'm familiar with your case. Unless, of course, you've been withholding information from me," the doctor replied, probing for honesty. "I haven't," Yuna said firmly.
"Hiding things from your doctor only delays treatment. There's nothing to be embarrassed about," the doctor explained in a gentler tone. Yuna didn't respond, and the sound of the doctor typing resumed, likely inputting a prescription.
"Doctor," Yuna said hesitantly, her voice stopping the doctor mid-task.
"Is there something else?"
"I want to be screened for HIV," Yuna said, her words sharp and deliberate, sending a jolt through both Keira and Hayden. Hayden's grip on Keira's arm tightened. She looked up at him, his face pale and his lips pressed into a thin line. Keira's heart raced, but she tried to stay calm. "Let's wait and see what Lena finds out," Keira whispered. Hayden nodded, though his eyes remained glued to the direction of the consultation room, his tension palpable.
