Part 72 # Bad Alliance
The paper cup in Miriam’s grip crumpled instantly. The beautiful doctor left in a blaze of anger. “Lara! You shouldn’t have provoked me!” she muttered angrily as she walked away.
“D-Doc!” The assistant who had been with her looked confused. But, he quickly followed his apparently enraged boss. What had actually happened?

Andre stared blankly at Lara, his patient, the woman of his dreams, now lying weak in the treatment room. Bi Yani’s arrival shattered his reverie.
“Coffee, Doc?” she offered.
“Thank you,” Andre accepted the coffee offered by Bi Yani with a smile.
“Why is a handsome doctor like you still single?” Bi Yani asked somewhat personally, after their last conversation about plans to approach Lara.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Actually, I already have a fiancee,” Andre replied honestly. He had kept this secret from everyone. But, his plan to approach Lara should have been a clear boundary between pretense and seriousness.
“A-and then?” Bi Yani widened her eyes. This issue was more serious than she had imagined. “What will happen to the doctor’s fiancee later?”
“Well. Maybe she can find someone else who loves her.”
“You don’t love her?” Bi Yani was increasingly surprised. “Then why the engagement?” She bombarded. This time, Bi Yani took a step forward to hear the doctor’s explanation, which might contain secrets.
“Well. Hasn’t you watched Korean dramas?” Andre laughed lightly.
Bi Yani swallowed. “Are those arranged marriages are real? Seriously?”
“More than you can imagine,” Andre sighed heavily. The situation was really complicated. But, this time, Andre wouldn’t give up so easily. He had missed the first chance. Lara had even been taken by someone else.
Lara’s single status – even though somehow Seno had thrown her away – was the best opportunity for Andre to succeed in his postponed love story. “I will dare this time, Bi.”
“Good luck, Doc!”
“Thank you.” Andre smiled meaningfully. Although he might lose his position, even maybe… the hospital inherited from his father-in-law, but… for Lara, Andre could even leave everything he had.
“Unfortunately, everything won’t be easy, Ndre. I won’t let you go,” murmured Miriam, who had been listening to their conversation since earlier. The doctor intended to visit Lara and check her chances of recovery, but… she found something interesting instead.
Miriam would also leave everything behind to… prevent Andre from reuniting with Lara! “All or nothing!”

“Check who is the guardian of the patient Lara,” Miriam said as she arrived at the central administration room of her hospital.
“Yes? Is there an urgent matter, Doc?” the officer asked before granting access to the surgeon doctor.
“I am the daughter of the owner of this hospital. Can’t you do your job just like that?” grumbled Miriam irritably. She had never been like this before, but Andre’s treatment towards her had really hurt her pride.
“W-wait, Doc,” the officer could only comply with the command, even though the information was confidential. But, what could he do? This job was more important than etiquette. He had a family to feed.
“There is none, Doc. There’s only an emergency contact number.”
“And… who is that?”
“Yani, Doc. It seems their relationship is as a household assistant.”
“Husband? Brother? Parents?” Miriam grilled the officer who seemed not to provide complete data to her. But the big man just shook his head. “Maybe, the patient is a single woman and an orphan, Doc. There is no data here.”
“Okay.”
Miriam suddenly thought of something. She had to find Seno. How could Lara’s husband not be registered as the guardian? Miriam smelled something fishy.

“The news of her accident was sensational. You’ve worked hard. They even consider it reckless driving,” Seno called the hitman with a cheerful heart. Finally, the two nuisances that disrupted his plans had been removed.
“Thank you, Boss.”
“You have to provide evidence of their deaths to claim the bonus. You understand, right?”
“Okay, Boss!”
“Alright. After this, you have to leave the country. I don’t want to get into trouble.”
“Understood!”
Seno placed his phone down with a deep sigh. This time, he could launch his drug product calmly, without any disturbance.
Seno’s office was so quiet. Seno could relax on the middle sofa which had been crowded with Madam’s henchmen for the past few days. They were so impatient! Yet, Seno had to eliminate all obstacles blocking his path.
“Lara. You have to go to hell.”
For a moment, Seno forgot his promise to Madam Xenia. Lara. She should have been included in the prerequisites for the tender he took. But, Seno didn’t care anymore. He had contacted the underground network that could be used as a backup source.
“I won’t easily kneel to that woman. Never!” Seno clenched his fists. This success, glory, and wealth were his.
“Excuse me. Boss, someone wants to meet you,” Olivia’s replacement secretary knocked on his door. Seno raised an eyebrow. “Who?” he asked later. He didn’t feel he had made an appointment with anyone.
“A woman.”
“Name?”
“Doctor Miriam, Boss.”
“Tell her to come in!”
Seno immediately got up from his seat. He really didn’t expect an old acquaintance to come to see him like this. What was going on?
“Please sit,” Seno said as Doctor Miriam entered his office with graceful and captivating steps.
Her beautiful face radiated firmness, although an annoyed expression seemed to envelop her expression. Seno welcomed her with a sly smile on his lips.
“What’s up, Doctor Miriam? Is there something that makes you come to see me here?” Seno asked, trying to maintain his composure. A sense of nervousness ran through his heart. Could it be… Miriam came to inquire about Lara?
“I’m sorry I came without notice. But, this is very urgent,” Miriam replied before starting the conversation. She crossed her legs, trying to adjust her sitting position comfortably.
“Ah, it’s okay! I’m not as busy as you think.”
“Thank you for your kindness. So…,” Miriam took a deep breath. She wanted to speak directly and not beat around the bush. “I want to know why you are not registered as the guardian of a patient named Lara. Why is instead a household assistant listed as the emergency contact?”
Seno chuckled softly. His suspicion turned out to be true. “So, Lara is in Andromeda Hospital now?”
“Don’t you know that?”
“Ah, sorry, Doctor. Lara and I are divorced.” Seno put on a regretful face. He was playing tricks to make Miriam feel sorry for him. After all, Lara couldn’t possibly wake up and would soon go to hell.
“Didivorced?” Miriam was shocked and understood more why Andre was so eager to get back his first love.
“Yes, Doctor. Divorce is a common thing, right?” Seno tried to indoctrinate his interlocutor. But, Miriam could only swallow her saliva.
“N-no. Divorce is unusual for me. For 3 generations, no one in my large family has ever divorced, Sir.”
Seno stood in front of his desk with a relaxed posture. He folded his arms across his chest. “In this modern era, divorce is common, Doctor. So, what’s the problem?” Seno tried to find the hidden intentions of the beautiful doctor.
A conversation like this should have been resolved over a phone call. Why did Doctor Miriam seem so insistent on meeting him in person? “Is there something you want to say?” Seno continued to search for an opening from his conversational partner’s silence.
Miriam shook her head again. She was so shocked! Miriam didn’t expect that her worst fear would actually come true. “Plplease don’t divorce Mrs. Lara, Sir,” Miriam pleaded, an odd attitude for Seno.
Of course, Seno laughed. “Wha?!” He couldn’t even speak. His stomach hurt from holding back the comedy show he was witnessing. “Are you kidding, Doctor?”
“No, Sir.”
“W-what makes you think my marriage affects your life? Aren’t you being too presumptuous?” Seno began to approach Miriam. He wanted to see the gaze of the beautiful doctor in front of him.
Those eyes. Eyes full of despair and… vengeance.
“Tell me, what’s really going on? Who knows, I might be able to help you.” Seno grinned as he moved closer. He hoped Miriam could be his accomplice in destroying Lara.
“She is my fiancee’s first love. Please, keep her away from our lives, Sir!”
