Love is the Sunshine

Chapter 580 A Huge Step (Part One)

Chapter 580 A Huge Step (Part One)

With his eyes glued to the little boy, William stopped dead in his tracks and completely forgot to get

inside the car.

That being said, it shouldn't come as a surprise that William would be so dumbfounded. After all, it was

the first time he had ever seen his son with his very own eyes.

"Are you actually my dad, uncle?"

Cody repeated his question one more time, his eyes filled with anticipation for William's response.

"Mom keeps on telling me that I don't have a dad, but... I don't believe it at all. Every single child should

have their own daddy. Sally has her dad who's always showering her with so much love and affection.

So, why should it just be me... and me alone who doesn't have my own dad? I really find that hard to

believe..."

Back when he was still in kindergarten, coming across a number of fathers gathering around the

school's entrance to pick up their sons and daughters was a common occurrence. On the other hand,

Cody had always been picked up by either his mommy or aunt, and never by a tall man like those

fathers of his other schoolmates. And because he was able to witness that every single day, he

unconsciously realized that every other child had a daddy, everyone other than him.

In truth, he had always been longing for the day when an adult man would appear at the gate of his Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

kindergarten, and tell him in a gentle voice, "Cody, I'm your dad. I came here to pick you up so I could

drive you home. Sorry I was late..."

Cody's words felt so sharp that it felt as though William's chest had just gotten struck by an icy sword,

freezing the softest spot in his heart. The guilt he was feeling was killing him deep inside.

"Cody, to be honest... I am..."

"William Qi! What the heck do you think you're doing?! Where were you planning to take my son to?"

Violet managed to shake off the waiter who was trying to stop her and rushed to get out of the hotel. As

soon as she got out, she frantically grabbed onto William's clothes and burst into tears in an instant, so

scared to death that her son might get taken away from her.

"You gave me your word that you'd never take my son away from me. But what are you trying to do

right now? You shouldn't break your promise!" —

Seeing that Violet was almost at her wit's end, William tried to calm her down by grabbing her hand

which was grasping onto his clothes and telling her, "Calm yourself down, Violet. I don't intend to take

your son away from you. I just want to give you and your son a better place to stay in. Trust me. That's

all I want to do."

Due to an excessive amount of stress, Violet was short of breath. Her blood ran cold as she looked at

him and asked, "Is that all there is to it? Really?" From the look in her eyes, it seemed that she was still

having a hard time believing him.

All she had left was her precious son. If she were to lose him as well, she didn't know if she would still

be able to go on living.

"I swear. That's all there is to it. Can you please just trust me one more time, Violet?"

Then, William wrapped his arms around her and told her, with a tear in his voice, "Right now, I'm not

asking for anything. I just truly want you and our son to have a better life. That is my only wish."

Still buried in his arms, Violet finally eased up, closing her eyes to bask in the long-lost warmth of this

man's arms once again.

At that moment, some old memories came gushing into her head. That was a time where the powerful

obsession she had for him took control of her life.

Knowing that he stood somewhere she probably couldn't reach, she still couldn't herself from helplessly

falling for him all over again, much like a moth drawn to the flame.

Once in her life, she had wondered that if only she had a secret identity just like Carla, she would, at

the very least, be able to stand on equal ground with him and she would never have to be bothered by

the significant gap between them.

Unfortunately for her, those were nothing but figments of her imagination, and probably the last of her

vain struggle to get his affection.

"Please just give me a chance to make it up to you, one last time, Violet. Let's get in the car,"

William whispered under his breath. This time, he really wasn't planning to force her to make any more

hard decisions. The only thing he longed for was, through his own efforts, to be able to give her and

their son a peaceful and better life.

But Violet still appeared to be caught between a rock and a hard place when she saw the look on

Cody's eyes, as he yearned to be with his dad who was standing in front of the car.

Feeling that she still hadn't made up her mind yet, William quickly opened the door of the car and

leaned in closer, telling the little boy, "Cody, help me convince your mom to get into the car with us. Dad

is going to give you a bigger house to live in!"

"Mom... Come on... Get in the car already."

Cody tried to persuade Violet to go with them, he was looking forward to staying with the dad he had

just met. Seeing her frozen in place, he walked toward her and lightly tugged her hand.

In that moment, Violet's heart was still filled with so much worry. Although it had already been five long

years since that incident happened, she still couldn't run away from the shadow that it left with her.

But at the end of the day, Cody was her only weakness, and sadly for her, William was well aware of

that fact.

"Oh, alright. I give up. I'm getting into your car, but I won't stay at your place. You have to promise me

that we're just going to stay at a hotel."

At that point, that was the best compromise that she could come up with to make her beloved son

happy. This wasn't at all for William or even herself.

"Of course! You have my word!"

When she finally got in the car, William made it a point to pull the seat belts and buckle them up for her

and also his son. Then, he proceeded to take the driver's seat and drive them to a much better hotel.

As for Carla, Terence had already driven her and Sally back home to the Seaview Villa.

After arriving home, Carla went to take a comfortable bath before doing anything else. She couldn't

wait to get rid of the smell of chicken hair that was all over her body. On Sally's side, as soon as she

came back, she directly went to her room and fell asleep, feeling extremely tired.

When she came out of the shower, Carla was still a bit worried about Violet, so she sent her a message

to check on her.
