Chapter 572 Caring Cody (Part Two)
Chapter 572 Caring Cody (Part Two)
"Cody, Mommy is planning to go somewhere later this afternoon. Will it be okay if I let you stay over at
Aunt Carla's house with Sally?"
As soon as he heard that, Cody put down his toys and walked over toward Violet.
"I'm okay with it. But, I'm afraid that Sally doesn't really want to play with me..."
Cody said as he lowered his head, feeling so down in the dumps. The last time he played with Sally,
she looked so bored with him that she even ran away.
Cody grew up without having a father. Despite being only four years of age, he was already quite
sensible. The two of them, Cody and Violet, were always on the move. But throughout all of that, he
had never really caused much trouble for Violet.
There were times when Violet couldn't look after him because of work, so he would willingly stay at This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
home all by himself.
"That won't happen! I'm sure of it! You've only played with her once. Once you get to know each other
more, you're gonna be just fine! Alright, now what do you say? Do you want to go or not?"
He was still a child, but Violet totally respected his decision nonetheless. So, she asked him directly.
"I want to go!"
Cody nodded his head in agreement as he thought about Sally's cute and adorable smile.
"Carla? It's settled! My son said yes to it!" Now that Cody gave her the go signal, Violet immediately
reported back to Carla.
"Alright then! I'll give you an address. You can just come over and take Cody along with you this
afternoon. After you drop him here, we'll go together. And when we get back, I'll just ask the driver to
pick Cody up and bring him to you!"
Carla said, planning out everything for Violet in advance.
As for Sally, she was the only girl in the An family, so Edmund really had a soft spot for her. It should go
without saying that he'd be more than happy to have her stay in his house for as long as she wanted.
As she hung up the phone, one of the servants brought Sally over.
"Mrs. Carla, Sally has been crying for you. Mr. Edmund asked me to bring her to you."
With a wave of her hand, Carla allowed the servant to take her leave. She lifted Sally up and had her
sit down on the couch. "Sally, Cody is going to be here this afternoon. Would you please play with him
and keep him company?"
Carla said, thinking about the conversation Cody had with Violet over the phone.
"Alright. But I don't really like playing with him. He is so boring. I think he's just going to bore me to
death!"
Sally exclaimed as she curled her lips.
"Why would you even say that? Did something happen? I think that Cody is such a sweet boy. And he
really, really cares about you as well. How can he bore you to death?" Carla remarked. In truth, she
had no idea whatsoever where her daughter could have learned these words.
Growing up, Cody didn't have a father. On the other hand, Violet had a lot on her plate that it wasn't
giving her much time to spend time with him. He had been staying in either daycare or kindergarten.
But in spite of all of that, he still remained composed and sincere, much more than most kids his age.
"I know that! But he's a bit too considerate. I wanted to play, so I told him I wanted to go play in the
garden. But, he said no and told me I might fall down because the ground was uneven there. When I
told him I wanted to climb on top of the rock and pick a flower, he told me that I could accidentally fall
from there. He even said that the flower had thorns in it, so it was going to prick my hands. I can't stand
him! He's so annoying!"
Carla froze all of a sudden.
Upon hearing her daughter run her mouth and complain, Carla was left at such a loss. It was at that
moment that she realized how naughty Sally really was, compared to Cody.
She couldn't help but feel a bit envious of Violet as she was lucky enough to be blessed with a well-
behaved son!
"Sally, believe me. Cody simply cares a lot about you! Have you already forgotten that time when you
fell down from the rock and hurt your arms and even your face the last time you played with Abbey?"
Carla blurted out as she lightly poked her little head.
Blinking her big, bright eyes, Sally pulled a long face and said, "Did I really? I can't remember,
Mommy!" She feigned ignorance about that event, unfortunately for her, her cunning expression sold
her out.
"Really? Are you sure you don't remember anything like that?"
Carla burst into laughter and gently spanked her. "In any case, Mommy is going out with Aunt Violet in
the afternoon. So, you have to promise that you're gonna be a good host and keep your little friend
company. Understood?"
Carla wasn't that worried about their safety given the fact that there were a number of servants staying
in the house. With that keeping her heart at ease, she was certain that nothing bad could possibly
happen to the kids as they would be there to keep them safe.
"Okay! I got it!"
Sally rolled her eyes and told Carla.
Carla had lunch at the An Manor while waiting for Violet.
Eunice, on the other hand, had already left with Eric earlier in the morning.
She wasn't trying to avoid Carla whatsoever.
It just so happened that she needed to send Eric to school. Right after dropping him off, she parked her
car outside the building of Rhys' company in order to spy on him.
As soon as Rhys drove away, she quickly followed him as cautiously as she could.
