Chapter 550 Lucy's Plan (Part One)
Chapter 550 Lucy's Plan (Part One)
On the drive back to the Villa, the air inside the car felt a bit heavy between the two of them.
"Terence, I understand how much you care about Sean and only want what's best for him. But, he's the
only brother I have, so I really don't want him to be far away from me!"
Carla exclaimed. If it were something else entirely different, she might have had no problems with it.
But she just couldn't wrap her mind around the thought of Sean joining the army.
"Carla, it's not really as bad as you're making it out to be. Even if Sean were to join army, there's still a
way for you to see him on a regular basis. I'm going to make sure of that."
Terence tried to reassure her as he put his arm around her shoulder. "In any case, he has to be at least
seventeen before he can join the army. That means he still has about a good two years to spend with
you."
He clearly understood why she was being so reluctant about it. Ever since their parents passed away,
they had to depend on each other to make it through. For that reason, she truly didn't want Sean to go
through something so difficult.
Once Sean got enlisted in the army, he wouldn't be allowed to leave until he received a distinguished
service medal.
And to achieve that, he would have no other choice but to work really hard for it.
He would probably need to sweat blood for it.
"I just can't help but worry about him! If anything were to happen to him, how am I supposed to live the
rest of my life?"
Carla anxiously said, biting her lower lip hard.
Carla had already experienced a lot of hardships firsthand.
Because of that, all she wanted right now was to keep her family together and make sure they were
safe from harm. Carla found it hard to understand why doing something like that could be so hard.
She had received formal training with self-defense for close combat. Although it might have only been
for a short period of time, she more or less had an idea how harsh the process could really be.
Sticking to that training regimen for a month was her limit. Once Sean got into the military, there was no
way that he wouldn't get himself in a world of pain.
At the thought of that, god only knew what she could end up doing if anything bad happened to him.
"Carla, Sean is a lot stronger than you think he is. You shouldn't be underestimating him. Have you Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
already forgotten? I have been through it myself. I mean, sure, it was difficult, but it wasn't something
unbearable. To tell you the truth, my very own grandfather even made it a point to give me a hard time
while I was there. But look at me now! I'm still here, am I not?"
Terence pulled her a bit closer and whispered under his breath, "Well, let's just set this one aside for
now. I'll see what Sean has to say about it. If he says he doesn't want to do it, I'm not going to force
him. What do you say?"
Carla rested her head against his shoulder and replied, "Okay! You have yourself a deal! And you
shouldn't do anything that might convince him as well! If he finds out that you wish for him to do so, he
will definitely take your words to heart."
Sean had been looking up to Terence ever since he was just a little boy. If he found out that Terence
wanted him to join the army, he would most certainly agree to it without even thinking twice.
"Deal! I got that! I guess that's fair enough."
Terence brushed his fingers against her hair, shaking his head as he couldn't help but chuckle a little.
Later in the afternoon, they showed Sally a couple of private kindergartens in JA City. In the end, they
picked the one which happened to be the closest to their house.
Time flew by so quickly. By the time summer break came to an end, it was time for Sally to go to
kindergarten.
After that, they headed back to the Seaview Villa.
As soon as they walked in, there was a phone call form Lucy.
"What's the matter? Is something wrong?"
After Terence hung up the phone, there was a distressed look that appeared on his face. When she
saw this, Carla worriedly asked him.
"Gail accidentally fell while she was playing around. It looks like they're still monitoring her in the
hospital now. Things aren't sounding too great at the moment," Terence curled his lips and said. With
that in mind, he decided to give Nathan a call right away to have him check up on her and make sure
everything was going fine on their side.
"Don't do that. I'm going to the hospital with you." Carla grabbed Terence's hand before he could dial
Nathan's number. In spite of everything that happened, Gail was still his daughter during the time that
she spent with him.
Now that she was taken to the hospital, it would just be right for him to at least be there himself to come
for a visit.
That being said, that was the only thing Carla could let slip for the child's sake.
It was a different time now. Even Carla herself had also changed. Right now, she knew full well what
Lucy was eager to have. It was rather obvious that she intended to use Gail to get closer to Terence
once again. Of course, that wouldn't happen on Carla's watch.
When he heard what Carla had to say, Terence was left at such a loss. So, he reeled her in closer and
calmly told her, "Honey, trust me. I'm not gonna let anyone hurt you ever again. Just trust me!"
It was Rena's fault that Carla lost her first baby. Because of that, Carla ended up being a target of
public ridicule.
There was no way in hell Terence could ever let that happen to Carla a second time.
"Oh? It looks like a lot of your memories have come back. Did Rainer tell you something?" Carla smiled
at Terence with a smug look on her face. His memories were returning much faster than she had
thought they would.
"My god, women are such complicated creatures. When I couldn't remember the past, you complained
that I forget you. And when I actually do remember, you still complain that my memories seemed to be
coming back too quickly." Terence's eyes appeared to be glimmering. Right then, he lightly flicked her
forehead, raising his eyebrows in protest. After that, he went on and said, "Anyway, you should stop
worrying about how I got those memories back.
