Chapter 11 REGRET
Serena knew something was wrong when Damon cheerfully greeted her a good morning the next day and continued staring intently at her whilst sipping wine so early in the morning, she knew she was drunk yesterday and could hardly remember the events that had occurred when he had arrived later in the night.
“Good morning” Serena smiled and walked past Damon to the kitchen to get ready a cup of coffee, she wasn’t fully awake yet.
“Good morning Serena.” He drawled following her with the glass in his hand.
He was shirtless and Serena was trying so hard not to stare at his perfectly shaped body and ripping abs, he was perfect and he knew it. The taut muscles straining with his every move, his jeans riding dangerously low on his hips to reveal a mat of hair all the way down…
Serena’s eyes flew up to his face in alarm, he had been watching her ogle him, a half smile on his handsome and roguish face.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
“Are you don undressing me?” He asked and this elicited a blush from her
“I wasn’t doing anything, undress you? You are not even my type.” Serena scoffed
Of course he was my type, dangerous and absolutely thrilling, Serena thought.
“That was not the impression I was given yesterday, you all but jumped me, Serena”
“I did no such thing and even if I did, I was drunk. You don’t expect that I will behave or remember anything that happens when I drink.”
“I was hoping you would remember our last discussion before you fell asleep.” He said softly
Serena’s eyes flew to his face again trying to gauge how serious he was
“What discussion?” She asked dreading his answer
“You seriously do not remember you telling me anything and me agreeing to something?”
“You know how drunk I was, I don’t remember anything. I hope I did not do something stupid.” She asked
“No… you did nothing stupid.” He echoed, his eyes searching my face.
“Excuse me, Serena. I will be in my office, I have work to do.”
Serena watched him walk away and knew she had probably done something stupid but why could she not remember anything, she hit her hand on her head and groaned. That is what you get when you have a very low tolerance level for alcohol and then decide to drink way above it. After racking her brain, nothing was coming to mind except the look of disappointment that had crossed Damon’s features before he walked away.
Damon on the other hand was fuming in his office
How could she forget! He thought banging his hand against the wall.
He had hardly slept, imagining what he would do when she woke up and reminded him of their agreement and then also imagining what he would do when she finally accepted his terms. He had been rock hard and uncomfortable throughout the night knowing she was in the same house with him and being unable to touch her but what had majorly kept him going was the fact that very soon he would be able to get her out of his system, possibly for good because of course she wasn’t his type, he was merely infatuated with trying out something new.
And then she had forgotten all about it, what was he expecting? She has been drunk and he should have realized all that talk was something she would never normally do, he was only real to her when she was high in the clouds.
“Dammit!” Damon said aloud hitting his hand on the table, he had made a fool of himself thinking she had the hots for him, it was only her drunk self speaking obviously.
“Are you alright?” Serena asked from the doorway.
Damon looked up in alarm, he had not heard her come in, her green eyes sparkling with concern.
“I am fine, what do you want?” He grated out
“Well you do not look alright squeezing those papers like that, is this about last night?”
Damon let go of the papers like they were hot iron
“I don’t understand what you mean by last night, Serena.”
“Well you said, I said and did some things that I was supposed to remind you of this morning. For the life of me, I cannot remember what that is and I can see that you are obviously disturbed by it so do you like want to refresh my memory a bit?.”
“If you cannot remember it, I cannot refresh your memory. The deal we had was for you to remember it and tell me so I can know you are serious about going all the way.” Damon said obviously hinting.
“Oh my God, did I talk about sex with you?”
“Something in that area but not exactly that, you know what Serena, just forget about it. It doesn’t matter, if that’s all I would like to go back to work.”
“I prepared something… breakfast and was wondering if you would like to join me.”
“No thank you, I am quite busy here and would grab a bite later.” Damon said
Serena cast one last puzzled look at him before leaving, taking all the air out of the room or so Damon thought.
It is definitely about something I said yesterday, Serena groaned again for the second time that morning
Why can’t I remember it, what did I say to him, she continued asking herself as she ate. It definitely was something that had him in such a fix, and it is supposed to be important.
“Why am I even stressing, if he isn’t going to tell me then I don’t care.” She said reassuring herself but her mind still continued wondering what it was she had said to him.
With Damon still working, Serena decided to continue reading the book she had been reading whilst waiting for him yesterday, she found it on the bed where she had left it and picked it upside down and then it came rushing back to her
You are too drunk Serena…why are you reading your book upside down
Kiss me Damon… I find you wildly attractive… what baggage do you have that I can’t handle.
Maybe I don’t want you to…don’t stay away… do you beat women?
Tomorrow if you remember tonight, I will fulfill your wish…
Serena collapsed on the bed, the book falling out of her hand, she could finally remember and it was not a pretty sight. She had asked him for sex in the most debilitating manner possible, she had embarrassed herself and she wasn’t sure she would be able to look at him the same way without remembering her awful night experience.
“Oh God” Serena groaned for the third time?
