Chapter 30 Don’t Mess With Me

“Really? She will do that?” someone turned to Sierra and asked.

“Yeah, Sierra, maybe you should let it go. The banquet has already started. If you change your jewelry and outfit now, it might not be a match.”

Someone tried to persuade her, but Sierra wouldn’t listen.

“Who said anything about changing? She spoils me the most. If I ask her, she will definitely take it off and give it to me on the spot.”

What Sierra didn’t mention was that the emerald necklace around Maggie’s neck was worth just about three thousand dollars.

Meanwhile, the one around her neck was worth many times more.

Naturally, she wouldn’t exchange with Maggie. After all, this jewelry would eventually be hers. What difference does it make to have it sooner or later?

“You girls, wait for me here. I’ll go to my sister.”

With that, Sierra picked up her skirt and walked toward Maggie. The way she held her head proudly appeared superficial and laughable.

A group of people stood in place, all looking in her direction. Someone couldn’t help but murmur.

“Isn’t it inappropriate for Sierra to do this?”

“Forget it. This is their family matter anyway.”

The others were lost for words.

On the other side, alongside Olivia, Maggie greeted the guests with a smile in a graceful and composed manner.

Before long, Sierra walked over. She affectionately took Maggie’s hand and asked softly, “Maggie, I have something to discuss with you.”

With that, she dragged Maggie to a relatively secluded corner.

Maggie looked at her with a smile and asked, “What’s the matter? You’re being so secretive.”

“Can you lend me your necklace? My friends are blind, and everyone thinks mine is not as beautiful as yours. Could you lend me yours to wear?” Sierra couldn’t help but complain.

Maggie’s gaze turned cold. She quietly looked at the seemingly innocent girl in front of her and responded with a half–smile.

Not getting the immediate consent she had imagined, Sierra felt a bit strange. She continued to shake Maggie’s arm and cooed, “Please? Maggie

Maggie replied softly, “You’ve already made your choice between two necklaces before. You’re not a child.

Hearing this, Sierra’s expression immediately changed. She asked, “What do you mean?”

Noticing her change of expression, Maggie found it laughable.

How did she not notice the malice and ruthlessness beneath Sierra’s ‘innocence‘ in her previous life? It was ridiculous that she had always thought Sierra was young and had been very considerate of her.

But beneath such a young and harmless face was an alternative type of cruelty.

After more than ten years of living together. Maggie didn’t understand why the people of the Camerons could be so indifferent to her. Even with a plant or an object, after more than a decade, shouldn’t there be some feelings?

“Sierra, the banquet is about to start. This necklace doesn’t match you. It’s inappropriate to change it at the last minute. Maggie’s smile faded, and she looked at her sister coldly.

Sierra never expected her sister, who had always been accommodating and obedient to her, would suddenly change and refuse her mercilessly.

“Don’t forget that everything you have is given to you by my family. If I hadn’t been willing to give it to you, you wouldn’t have a penny!” Sierra’s face twisted and threatened viciously.

Maggie didn’t want to deny it. When she was blinded and disfigured, Sierra was definitely the last person she would have suspected.

How innocent could a girl who did all that to her?

“I’m sorry, mom gave me this necklace.” Maggie refused again, her expression cold.

This was the first time Sierra had encountered this. She didn’t understand why her sister, who had always been accommodating and obedient to her, suddenly changed. She grabbed Maggie’s arm again and said, “Do you have any misunderstandings about me? Or did someone say something to you?”

“I’m your sister! Even though we’re not related by blood, I’ve always seen you as my sister over the years.”

Maggie chuckled, her gaze softening. “I’m doing this for your own good. Otherwise, you’ll suffer in the future. As sisters, I can’t let you have your way this time. I’ve let you in many times before, but you have to understand that even real siblings won’t always give in to each other.”

Sierra was shocked by Maggie’s toughness. Her frustration made her complexion turn pale.

Maggie smiled gently, but her eyes had a cold look.

Sierra was malicious, but her lack of cunning meant she always displayed her emotions on her face.

Reflecting on their past, Sierra had once declared her intention to ruin Maggie. At that time, she had dismissed it as the impulsive words of a young girl experiencing her first love, never believing that their decade–long relationship was nothing but a farce.

“Also, Sierra, you’re a daughter of the Camerons, but you are still a girl. The family wealth is destined to belong to our brother. Our parents may tolerate your willfulness, but Joseph might not. When you have nothing left, you’ll have to rein in your temper.”

Marie scuumed the mole of the elder sister sneaking softly and subtle, stirring un discord between Sierra

Sierra was arrogant and willful, while Joseph was hypocritical and boastful. Their relationship was already strained.

She wanted to plant a seed in Sierra’s heart and wait for it to take root, grow, and eventually turn into a towering tree.

“Maggie, stop pretending! Who do you think you are to lecture me here? Whether you like it or not, you have to give me this necklace today.”

Sierra was a princess at heart. After a few words, she realized that Maggie refused to give in, and she immediately changed her demeanor.

“In that case, we have nothing more to say.”

Maggie’s expression turned cold. She withdrew her gaze, turned around, and left.

“Stop right there! If you don’t give me that necklace today, you’re not going anywhere!” Sierra reached out to grab Maggie, displeased.

She had bragged in front of her friends, so she had to have this necklace.

She couldn’t afford to lose her pride. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

Maggie was a lowlife who relied on her family’s resources. Why wouldn’t Maggie obey her? Why would Maggie compete with her?

Maggie abruptly turned around, grabbed Sierra’s wrist, and dragged her into a secluded corner.

Then, Sierra felt something press against her neck. Maggie had a dagger in her hand, and she held it against Sierra’s delicate skin.

Maggie said with a smile, “If you don’t want to attend the banquet with a scarred face, it would be best not to provoke me!”

“You…you…

Sierra’s face turned pale, and she struggled to speak. She was terrified, especially when she met Maggie’s beautiful and captivating eyes. Her whole body stiffened, and an indescribable fear rose from the depths of her heart.
