KING MICAH: World Beyond The Ruins

Chapter 6

The man who threw the dagger jump on the table and pushed the door open. “Catch him!” Someone yelled as I stumbled back, falling flat on my butt.

I crawled to the wall side so as to not me stepped on as the beasts chased after the man.

I took in deep breaths, calming my racing heart before getting up while using the wall to support my weight. The door was wide open as I stood at the middle searching for the King.

Is he dead? I asked myself and my heart clenched at the thought but I shook it out.

The king is immortal. Lived for more than 700 years.

His people surrounded him as I took cautious steps. His glowing golden eyes snapped to my figure making me stop.

His men (and women) surrounding him all shifted to the sides giving me the view of the dagger that was stuck in the middle of his chest.

I gasped in horror and stumbled forward with my hands over my mouth.

“Are you OK?” I asked placing my hands on his shoulder. He gave me a look and even i knew that it was a dumb question.

Obviously he isn’t OK.

Black blood kept gushing out, staining his blue shirt. as he tried pulling the red snake-loke dagger only for it to struck right back.

The King gasped with sweat forming on his head and skin turning a pale white.

“Stop” I whispered shakily placing my hand on his blooded one that still held the wooden handle of the dagger.

“The dagger has been cursed!” Said a female voice and everyone started murmuring. I paid no mind to them, only focusing on Micah.

His eyes were dropping slowly and I knew that soon he would pass out.

“He needs a doctor!” I snap to the people around me and everyone became quite.

“No. No,” Micah slurred as I pushed his upper body gently to rest on the chair. “… Call Devina” He finished before his body went still.

Everyone jumped into action, some carrying the King to ou-his room whilenthe rest going to find… Who this Devina is.

My heart beat loudly in the chest to the point where I could literally hear them.

I feared for the kings life even though I shouldn’t but I do.

I sat beside him on the bed and if I listen closely, I could hear his shallowed breathing.

The door burst open and a woman walked in clothed in a green gown with her head raised high. Her blonde hair was adored with colored beads and cowries.

She sat at the left side of the King, opposite me only giving me a glance before returning her focus back to the King.

Ate they lovers? I thought before snapping my face back to the king who made a painful grunt.

She took out a scissor from her brown and the man standing beside her placed his hand on her shoulder.

“Hurt him and you die” He growled out with a glare on hia face.

“I would never” Devina muttered matching his glare while jerking away from his touch.

She cuts his cloth open and we all gasps at the sight.

It looks like the King has been struck by black lightening but that wasn’t the case because black lightening doesn’t even exist and what was before us was far more worst than that.

Black vain like branches spread out from where the dagger was imbed in his chest to his neck and mid stomach.

I shifted on the bed to take a look closer look with my hand stretched out and touched the red dagger only to jump back in fear, falling on my ass… Again as the snake like dagger turned into a life snake.

Everyone kept quiet, some shifting towards the door trying to make a run for it when things go down the hill.

The red snake hissed at me and I hold my breath. My hands shake as I grabbed on to the rug on the ground for dear life.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

It’s red eyes glared into mine as we were only an inch apart. How the snake was long enough to reach me here on the ground, at least five feet away from the bed I had no idea but of course, this was socceary after all.

I screamed using my hands to protect my face when it mouth opened and ready to strike me to death.

Death. Oh My God, I am going to die.

The snake could no longer reach me when it started to shorten in length, it’s mouth still opened as it turned into the wooden dagger once more.

I was breathing heavily and still shaking from what just happened. I thought I was going to die.

“Don’t ever do that!” Said Devina as she stood above me while sending me a skull crushing glare.

“I didn’t know” I gritted out referring to the dagger turning into a god damn snake as I tried standing up.

She rolled her eyes before going to back to sit next to my mate. I noticed that ashes were spread on the snake and on Micah’s chest.

“Are you even a doctor?” I asked while narrowing my eyes at the dagger as I came to stand next to Devina.

“No I’m a witch” Devina answered pulling out some herbs from her bag.

I was about to call the guards on her before remembering that the King had requested for her so surely he must trust her. Or love her.

Okay, where the hell are this thoughts coming from?.

She grinds them together in her small mortal, mixing in some portion… Thing I guess?

She rubs the finished products on her hands before rubbing some on a knife she brought out of her bag.

How the hell did she fit all those in one small bag?

She took in deep breaths while I moved backwards already knowing what she plans on doing.

In a swift motion she grabbed the now life snake in her hand that jerks to all sides trying to free itself from her grasp.

She started whispering words in a different language making the knife glow a bright purple color before cutting the snake in half.
