Jojo and Coco's Unexpected Love

Chapter 753 Fearlessly Dropping Accusations? How Bold

Chapter 753 Fearlessly Dropping Accusations? How Bold

Noah gazed at her, his eyes flickering with sadness as he sighed, "Don't you trust me?"

Chloe shook her head. "It's not that. I just find it too coincidental."

Both sides held their ground. Under normal circumstances, she would not even entertain the thought of doubting Noah. To her, Michael was an insignificant figure. Noah was different. He had been a constant pillar of support, rescuing her from the most difficult of situations. She was not sure if she could have made it through that tough period without him. But having endured numerous hardships, from an unfortunate family background to an ill-fated relationship, Chloe had become increasingly sensitive to such matters.

The atmosphere was delicate, akin to thin ice on the verge of shattering with the slightest touch.

"Coco…" Noah gently held her shoulders, his eyes showing a hint of restrained bitterness. "Rumors are dreadful. After all this time we've spent together, don't you know what kind of person I am?"

Chloe met his gaze, her heart trembling as she saw a glimpse of her past self. There was a time when she too, was distrusted by Joseph this way. Feeling deeply troubled, she lowered her eyes before responding, "I know what kind of person you are, and I believe in you."

Besides Noah, who else could she trust? Joseph? Michael? The former was indecisive and responsible for shattering a once-happy family. The latter was just an acquaintance with minimal connection.

"We trust each other, so let's not be influenced by outsiders," Noah consoled softly, "I know people in the media. If you want to help Michael, we can try to assist him."

Chloe shook her head resolutely. "No need. It's not my concern." Having decided to place her trust in Noah, she would no longer have any contact with Michael.

The deep hue in Noah's eyes gradually faded as he twirled the pen between his fingers, lost in thought. 'Michael, huh? Fearlessly dropping accusations. How bold.'

A few days later, Michael received a notice from his agent, informing him that the company had arranged for him to participate in a wilderness survival show.

"Oh my. Why did they invite Michael when all the other participants are professionals?"

"Maybe it's to heighten his publicity? After all, there was a big commotion surrounding him recently..."

"Hahaha, to showcase his manliness?"

"I don't know if he'll be able to showcase it or not. But one thing's for sure—he'll be exhausted to the bone."

Chloe was not familiar with the details of the survival program, but she knew it was a popular show. She naively assumed Michael had successfully overcome his difficulties.

"Miss, please close your eyes. Your makeup will be done soon," the makeup artist said in a gentle tone.

"Okay." Chloe put her phone aside and closed her eyes.

Today was the day of her engagement to Noah. Due to Desmond injuring his leg while dining with his old friends last week, he had insisted on postponing the event. After much persuasion, she eventually agreed.

Perhaps it was true that Noah, the person that treated her the best, was the most suitable person for her. Rejecting him again would be ungrateful. She also did not wish to see Exotic Star split up. This was the main reason she had agreed to this.

Fifteen minutes later, the makeup artist admired the reflection in the mirror. "Ms. Chloe, you’re so beautiful."

Wearing a snow-white off-shoulder gown that accentuated her slender figure and waist without overemphasizing her curves, Chloe looked elegant and graceful. Her already exquisite features were further enhanced by the professional makeup artist’s skills, making her skin appear smooth and glowy.

Chloe smiled and asked, "Have all the guests arrived?" Except for Emily, all the guests were invited by Noah and Desmond. Chloe did not have many relatives or close friends.

"They’re here. The engagement ceremony is about to begin. Let me escort you outside," the makeup artist said, concerned that the gown's hem might trip Chloe.

Chloe nodded as she stood up and gracefully entered the packed, spacious hall. Some of these people were from Exotic Star, while others were familiar faces but mostly casual acquaintances.

"Coco, you look stunning, just like a bride! If you wear a wedding dress, Noah will be absolutely enchanted." Emily beamed with joy, genuinely happy for Chloe. After enduring so many hardships, she felt that her best friend deserved to enjoy the life of a wealthy wife.

Though Emily did not fully support Chloe marrying someone she did not truly love, Noah was undoubtedly a better choice compared to Joseph. At least, he did not have a manipulative, scheming ex like Xavia.

Thinking of Joseph, Emily leaned forward and whispered, "By the way, I think I saw Kenneth here."

Chloe's expression fell slightly, taken aback by the mention of Kenneth’s name.

"He came with a man and a woman," Emily continued, scanning the crowd and discreetly pointing. "Over there." Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

Chloe furrowed her brows, gazing at Callum, Kenneth, and a young girl in her twenties, whose innocent facial features suggested she was likely Callum's daughter.

Ophelia Gillingham handed the hors d'oeuvre she was holding to Kenneth, muttering something about them tasting horrible. Kenneth shook his head and finished the remaining half of the food.

Chloe blinked, feeling emotion welling up within her. She felt an inexplicable tinge of envy.
