Chapter 17
Chapter 17
Alex‘ POV
“Nah you aren’t listening! She’s just not telling us the f**king truth – there’s more to that girl! Trust me!” I mumble, catching my balance on the wall as Jace laughs.
“Alex bro just let it go! The girl is harmless!” Jace throws his hands up dramatically, spilling the contents of his cup, as I scoff.
“I mean look at them!” I point directly towards Anna and her friend Lottie as they take pictures together.
How has this girl just turned up and seemed to effortlessly worm her way into our tight knit circle?
Tight knit for a reason too – to keep us out of f**king trouble!
Although the girl had bothered me before, after the alcohol began to kick in – it was now bothering me a thousand times more than that!
“Maybe I should just call her out!” I announce loudly, taking a swig of my cup before attempting to walk past Jace.
“Chill out Alex! You’re going to give the girl a shown up and for what exactly?!” Jace places a hand on my chest to halt me, causing me to glare at him.
“A shown up in–front of who? Look around? Most people have either left or are inside trying to get a quick f**k!” I rage, continuing to glare at the giggling girl as she stands by the pool on the opposite side.
Standing there all innocent and perfect… she was too good to be true!
“Alex seriously just drop it! She hasn’t even bothered you once tonight! But on that note… maybe that’s your true problem eh?” Jace suddenly smirks, as my drunken eyes gaze back over at him.
“What the f**k is that supposed to mean?!” I bark, as Jace shakes his head in sheer amusement.
“I think you like her and that you are just pissed off because she hasn’t taken any notice in you tonight! Why would any new girl at school bother you this much?” Jace states as though it was fact, as I practically growl at the accusation.
As if!
“She would be f***ing lucky! I could f**k her and dump her like any other girl in that hell hole!” I state matter of factly – the drunk confidence becoming overwhelming.
“Oh is that so? Prove it then.” Jace shrugs, turning himself to look back in the direction of Lottie.
“Prove it? What is this now some petty f**king bet?” I take another drink, watching the short female stumble slightly as she laughs along with Anna and another boy who they seemed to have met.
I didn’t recognise him from school so maybe he came here with somebody else…
“If you can f**k her and dump her like she’s nothing then you win.” Jace shrugs, cocking his head at me as I silently debate on his petty plan.
Does he actually think that I’ll fall weak for any stupid girl that just walks in to our group? Maybe I can even use this bet as a way to figure her out…
“It’s on!” I shove my cup into his chest, spilling it down his crisp white shirt, before I march my way towards the girl in question – moving around to the other side of the pool…
I looked like a predator stalking it’s prey, as I quickened my pace and approached the laughing trio. I could practically feel Jace’s hard stare on my back, which only made me straighten up further…
As I closed the distance between myself and Lottie, she quickly noticed my presence and her mouth dropped open – taking a noticeable step backwards in surprise.
“Alex what the f**k are you…” Anna’s voice meets my ears, before I waste no time on grabbing Lotties face – pulling her into a deep kiss.
She freezes under my hold for what feels like hours, as her body goes ridged. I force myself into the kiss, giving her a few moments to adjust before she slowly begins to return the movements….
Is this her first kiss or some shit? Why is she acting so shy?
I take a possessive step forward, followed by another step as the kiss grew more heated before suddenly-
My foot slips off the edge of the pool and I take us both down – tumbling into the water. Lottie squeals in surprise, as I grip her to me feeling the cool liquid engulfs us both…
We go completely under, before I pull us up for air releasing a loud laugh as I reach the surface…
I turn to look at the female in my arms, as she pushes her wet hair back from her face and begins to cough and splutter from the water.
“Why?” She almost sobs out, as I stop laughing and squint at her.
Why is she upset? Because I ruined her f**king makeup or something?!
“Why what? Why did I kiss you? Or are you upset because your dumb hair is ruined?” I question her, suddenly feeling annoyed that she couldn’t just laugh at the incident like any other person
would… so f**king what if we fell in to the pool?
She should just be lucky that I even kissed her in the first place – bet or not.
“I can’t swim…” She admits almost inaudibly, as I look down to notice her hand gripping my shoulder to keep her afloat.
Oh…
I then take notice as people begin cheering and jumping into the pool around us splashes. Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

as I hear Lottie gasp in surprise at the numerous
My heart tightens slightly, before I shake the feeling off and swim us towards the pool edge.
She’s being dramatic it’s only water…
I hoist her up onto the side wall to sit, as I study her briefly, seeing her chest rise and fall as she attempts to calm down from the incident.
She’s so strange…
“It’s only water princess… you’re acting like I attempted to drown you! state completely monotone, as her eyes fall down to stare at me in the pool.
Sorry… I was just surprised…” Lottie practically whispers the response, seeming nervous as she begins to play with the hem of her skirt.
I follow the action, as my eyes trail down her body and land on the small hand which was placed on her thigh before I noticed-
“What the f**k are they?!” I practically shout in horror, not meaning to be so loud, as I noticeably see her flinch at my tone.
What the f**k?!
My eyes burn holes into the deep red slashes and scars painting her legs, as I visibly watch the remains of (what looks like) makeup slide down her thighs… I’m guessing she used it to cover them up?
I look around briefly to confirm that nobody was paying any attention to us, before I look back up at her.
Her face was now chalk white and her eyes were evidently teary… as her mouth opened and closed in an attempt to give me an answer.
“Did you do that?!” 1 grit out next, confused as to why and how this happened?
“I… I need to go.” She panics in a sudden outburst, as though something finally clicked in her brain, before she scurries up onto her feet and begins to practically run towards the house.
I waste no time, pulling my body up from the pool, as I–follow her… wanting and needing to know more.
