Chapter 46
QUINN
“I think you all have an excellent grasp on all this,” Mr. Ganbar said happily during our lunchtime wrestling match score training. I just stared at him, bemused. Three practices, and I felt no closer to understanding this than when I walked in. “How many of you can stay after school tomorrow? The team will be doing some matches, which will be a great practice.”
There were some murmurs among the group. I didn’t have anything going on in particular, so I could stay.
“Fantastic. That means we can go over penalties next week, and you will all be ready for the first tournament of the year the following weekend!”
Tay raised her hand. “Does that mean we’ll be with the others who already know how to do this?” she asked.
“Right now, one has signed up to go, so we’ll see about more. This first one will be a soft start for you guys. Coach Browne wants the list of girls going by Monday so you can be added to the tournament list, so let me know by then if you will be attending. I guess I will see some of you tomorrow after school!”
We all started gathering our things to head to lunch. “Miss Samuels, a word?” Mr. Ganbar called before I could get out.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
I waited for everyone else to leave then Mr. Ganbar addressed me. “So,” he said. “A little puppy told me that you are aquatinted with Mr. Michael Gibson.”
“Uh, yea,” I said nervously. “We are friends.”
“Well, if you are in contact with Mr. Gibson, I would appreciate it if you could ask him to return his uniform. He seems to have not left any contact information behind for his other friends or teammates, and the Alpha is not being too forthcoming about the situation.”
“Right,” I said. I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to tell Mr. Ganbar.
“I won’t question any further,” he continued. “But I would appreciate it if you could pass the message along.”
“Sure thing,” I said. “Can I go?”
“Yes. I will be seeing you tomorrow after school, correct?”
“Yea,” I told him before getting out. I liked Mr. Ganbar, but I didn’t want to get pulled into anything else for the day, and the conversation about Michael was awkward.
I went to my locker to deposit my things before heading to the lunchroom. I pulled out my phone on the way and texted Michael real quick.
