Evelyn said, “For our family, we only have you and Hansel as grandchildren. How can we compare to your uncles? We’ll definitely be at a disadvantage if the inheritance is distributed according to the number of people within the family.Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

“If you or your brother had a child, he or she would also be considered in the distribution. Our family would at least get a larger portion of the inheritance. You and I have no chance, but now there’s a child in Ingrid’s belly. Why not take advantage of this?”

Tina suddenly understood. “So that’s the reason.”

“Do you get it now? As long as Ingrid’s child is safely born, we’ll be able to secure at least this much…” Evelyn held up her hand.

Tina said, 50 million?

“Think bigger,” Evelyn replied.

“Could it be… 500 million?”

Evelyn smiled as Tina gasped in shock,

Meanwhile, Ingrid had overheard everything clearly…ne hospital ward. The soundproofing was terrible for a VIP ward.

Ingrid gently placed a hand on her flat belly… 500 million…

How much money was that?

Ingrid’s current condition didn’t require her to stay in the hospital any longer. What she needed was recuperation. On the third day, Evelyn arranged for her discharge from the hospital.

They had almost lost the baby this time. Not only was Evelyn cautious, but Ingrid also felt worried.

She was extremely careful during her first two days at home. She watched her diet and kept her emotions in check for fear of affecting the baby.

As time passed, Ingrid became more confident that her baby would be fine. Moreover, Evelyn treated Ingrid like a queen at home, waiting on her hand and foot. Aside from picking out the stars from the sky for her, Evelyn did her best to provide whatever Ingrid wanted

During this time, Hansel didn’t return to the mansion, not even once.

It was useless even when Evelyn called him personally. He either didn’t answer or flat–out refused to

return home. He was extremely impatient and would hang up after just a few words.

Hansel was completely fed up with Ingrid and didn’t want to even spare a glance at her.

Ingrid no longer demanded anything from him. After all, she still had the baby. Winning Hansel’s heart no Jonger seemed that important with 500 million at stake

Time flew by, and Ingrid’s belly gradually grew larger.

However, some people just couldn’t stay away from trouble. As soon as Ingrid’s condition improved, she forgot her place and started acting out.

Ingrid stood by the door and said with a smile, “Mrs. Johnson, I’m about to leave for a prenatal checkup. Could I have some of your homemade chicken soup when I return?”

Evelyn was sitting on her couch. Upon hearing that, she waved her hand. “Go ahead. I’ll ask Sarah to make some chicken soup. You can have it when you come back.”

Ingrid’s smile deepened. “Did you mishear me? I said I wanted chicken soup made by you personally.” She deliberately emphasized the word “personally“.

Evelyn frowned. When her gaze landed on Ingrid’s rounded belly, she took a deep breath and held back her anger. “Alright, I’ll make it.”

“Thank you for the trouble, Mrs. Johnson.”

Evelyn had just finished cooking the chicken soup when Ingrid returned from her checkup. She ladled a bowl of hot soup and placed it on the table. “The soup’s ready. Come and drink it.”

After that, she served herself a bowl too. To be hone the soup really did taste better than what Sarah usually made!

*Mrs. Johnson, are you pregnant too?” Ingrid suddenly blurted out as she walked to the table.

Evelyn almost choked on her soup.
