Chapter 292 Before The Party (Part Three)
Chapter 292 Before The Party (Part Three)
"Cherry, you look gorgeous!" cried Selina, as she stood up excited and quickly walked up to her.
Derek was also stunned by Cherry, and he also thought that she had always been an incredibly
charming woman.
Cherry looked at herself in the mirror, and then asked Selina, "Selina, is it okay for me to dress like
this?"
"Of course it is! Cherry, you can't be more perfect than now!" and with these words, Selina cheerfully
grabbed Cherry's arm.
"Okay, let's go now. We're almost late, " said Derek.
They then went out of the hotel together; Derek and Selina took one car, while Jackson and Cherry
took another and followed them from behind.
Cherry quietly sat in the car and looked out the window. She hadn't uttered a single word to Jackson
because she didn't know what to say to him anymore.
The awkward atmosphere in the car made Jackson's heart ache. He wanted to say something to
Cherry to break the silence, but he didn't know how to start the conversation.
Finally, Jackson took the initiative to break the silent deadlock. He held the steering wheel with one
hand and then grabbed Cherry's hand, which was resting on her lap, with the other.
As soon as he touched Cherry's hand, Cherry violently shook it off.
Jackson quickly glanced at her surprised and then looked back at the road.
Cherry still didn't speak, and kept on looking out of the window.
"Are you still angry?" asked Jackson in a calm manner.
Cherry didn't reply to him.
Jackson waited for some time, but he didn't get an answer, and then started to feel very uneasy.
He suddenly stopped the car on the roadside.
Cherry noticed that the car had stopped, but she still kept silent and didn't even move an inch.
Jackson suddenly approached her. He put his hands on her shoulders and turned her around, forcing
her to look at him.
"Are you still angry with me?" asked Jackson again in a tender and gentle manner. He was so close to
Cherry that she could even feel his breath.
"No, " calmly said Cherry. She then looked away and avoided any eye contact with him.
"Honey, I'm sorry! I shouldn't have been that impetuous. I know that I was wrong, and I promise that I
won't do it again. Would you please forgive me this time? Don't be angry with me any longer, okay?"
Jackson's voice was very soft and tender, and he only spoke in that manner to the woman in front of
him. Cherry was the only woman that he would try every means to please her; only to her he was able
to make an apology in such a humble way. His wife meant everything to him in his heart.
After she heard Jackson's words, Cherry still ignored him and refused to talk to him. When she
remembered the words that he had said to her, the furious expression he had worn on his face, and the
evil look in his eyes when he had seen his Grandpa fainted down on the floor, she believed that she
was just a nobody to him. She felt very disappointed and wronged because she had always loved him
very much, and she had never expected that he would do something so awful to her.
Jackson was helpless when he saw Cherry's indifferent look in her eyes. He desperately wanted her to Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
say something to him, even if it was just a single word.
"Baby, would you please say something to me?" Jackson pleaded and begged her again. He was very
worried about her, and he felt very uneasy to see her so silent with that indifferent look on her face. He
didn't know what she was even thinking about.
After some time, Cherry turned to Jackson. She then looked into his eyes, and coldly said, "Grandpa
knew that we were talking about Mond, didn't he? That was the reason why he fainted."
Cherry's words violently stunned Jackson, and he couldn't understand why she was talking about Mond
again. He wondered what was wrong with her, and why she was so determined to discuss about that
man with him.
Jackson let go of Cherry's shoulders and leaned back on the driver's seat. He then said, "Just don't
mention him again, okay?"
"What do you think?" asked Cherry, without any sort of fear. She then continued to say, "You hit me
because of him, and Grandpa fainted because of him. Do you really think that I can pretend that
nothing has ever happened?"
"Cherry!" shouted Jackson, with once again the fierce horrible look in his eyes. He glared at Cherry,
and seriously said, "Don't ever try to challenge me again!"
Cherry looked directly into Jackson's eyes. She didn't want to say anything more, because she knew
that she wouldn't get the answer that she wanted out of him; she was fed up with arguing with him over
and over again.
"Drive now!" said Cherry. She then turned her head and looked out the window, ignoring Jackson
again.
Jackson started the car helpless, and drove as fast as he could.
Looking in the rearview mirror, Derek suddenly found that he could no longer see Jackson's car behind
his. He asked, "Where's Jackson's car? Why can't I see it?"
After she heard Derek's words, Selina looked back and also failed to see Jackson's car either. She then
asked Derek, "Are you driving too fast?"
"I don't think so. I'm driving at a regular speed, " said Derek. He didn't think that he was driving too fast.
He couldn't help but look in the rearview mirror again, but he still didn't see Jackson's car anywhere.
"They might be not far behind. Let's wait a few minutes for them; slow down a bit, " said Selina.
"Okay."
In his limousine, Mond rested on the back seat with his eyes closed.
Jean, who was sitting next to him, wasn't quiet at all. While she kept rubbing herself against Mond's
arm, she cheerfully asked, "Why didn't we leave earlier? Wouldn't it have been a good chance for us to
cotton up with the other bosses if we arrived there earlier?"
"Jean!" said Mond coldly, "Remember the role you have to play today. You're my partner tonight, and if
you ever dare to say any words improper to the occasion, or do anything that may damage my
reputation in one way or another, be sure that I won't let you off the hook so easily!"
After Jean heard Mond's words, the smile on her face gradually started to fade away. She knew exactly
that she had to obey Mond's orders, because if she didn't, then she was digging her own grave.
With his eyes still closed, Mond continued to say, "You have only one task today: to take good care of
your sister Cherry and your ex-husband John."
All of a sudden, Jean's eyes filled with hatred, and she thought to herself, 'I'll meet that bitch again!
John, whom I loved so much; is he still single?'
