Walking back to the pack naked feels like a forever walk . I try to think of her face , playing her words over and over in my head .

She wants Aiden in return for Felix..

How can I do this ?

I don’t even realize that I am on our land until Aiden’s hands grab my arms , “Eleia .” He shakes me , “Where were you ?” He tugs his shirt off and pulls it over my head , his baby blue orbs making me want to cry – again .

Will this torture never end ?

Why can’t my life just be simple ?

My lips part , but nothing comes out… I can’t say it.

Gulping audibly , my shoulders sink .

“Hey .” His big warm hands cup my cheek , “What happened ?” He asks and I glance down at my hands that are fill of dirt , along with the rest of my body .

“She took him..” my voice is hoarse , “Who ? Who took him Eleia ?” He tilts my head up , squeezing my cheeks .

“Elizabeth . She goes by Ellie . Her.. her number is in your phone .” I feel like a ghost that’s talking , as if I’m speaking , but it doesn’t feel like anyone can hear me even if they can .

Everything feels like a dream and my heart is screaming for someone to just wake me up from this nightmare .

“Someone get my phone .” Aiden demands , his head turned to the people surrounding us .

Tears are already swelling in my eyes again and I look down at the floor .

“Why would she tell you she has Felix ?” He tries to lift my head and I step back , swatting his hands away , gulping as a vile feeling creeps up my chest , making me want to throw up whatever is inside of my body .

“Eleia , talk to me .” He begs and I know that he only wants to help , but he can’t – he can not do anything about this situation .

I glance past him to the door of the house , rounding him before going inside .

He follows suite and I really wish he wouldn’t while being thankful that he is .

“Eleia .” He calls out to me , but I don’t care until I close the door behind us .

“She wants you dead like you killed Regan because she was his second chance , but he rejected her too and now she won’t give Felix back unless you hand yourself over so that she can kill you .” I ramble all in one breath , his eyes wide .

“Is that it ?” He asks and I nod .

A smile creeps up his face , “Then we make the trade .” He steps forward , but I step back , “She will kill you .” I snap and he shrugs , “It’s not that easy .”

“I will do anything to get him back , he’s our son Eleia .” He speaks as if there were no option and my heart burns at the thought of losing him .

“You would do that for him ?” I ask in a mere whisper , my hair hanging in front of my eyes .

“In a heartbeat , he’s my son .” He steps forward and I stand still , “But I don’t want you to die .” My bottom l*p wobbles , “I won’t .” , “How ?”

“Stefan and I will come up with a plan , let’s just..let’s ask her where to meet us .” She smiles and I inhale a deep breath , nodding .

Stefan trots down the stairs , “Your phone was hard to find .” He holds it up in his hand and I can’t stop nibbling on my bottom l*p .

“Stop that .” He drags my l*p out of my teeth’s grasp before he takes his phone .

“What did you say her name was ?”

“Ellie . Elizabeth .” I correct and I watch him type in both names before finding it under Ellie .

I hate that she acts like a friend all the while wanting to tear my family apart .

If something happens to Aiden , Felix would have no dad and Aiden and I would never have a kid .

I hate that this woman acts all innocent , as if she’s doing the right thing .

She isn’t and I wish I could implant my memories of Regan into her mind to show her what kind of man he really is .

“Put it on speaker .” I demand and it rings four times before the girl answers , her voice pissing me off .

“Hello ?” She answers with a knowing tone .

“Is this Elizabeth ?” Aiden asks and I want to pull that b***h through the phone and murder her .

“That’s correct , Aiden .” The disrespect in her tone while saying his name makes my b***d boil .

I should have just killed her , she was alone and I swear I could have taken her , even if I don’t have fighting skills .

“I heard there’s something you want .” His eyes are boring into mine and all I want is to end the call and k**s him , to tell him don’t go , but I can’t lose Felix either .

“You , yes .” The bitchiness makes my skin crawl .

“I want to know if Felix is okay .” He grits out , “Felix ?” She scoffs , “Awful name , but sure .” It takes a minute before the photo is sent and Aiden opens the text to where Felix is sleeping .

“Cute , isn’t he ?” Elizabeth teases and I can’t stop the growl from escaping my throat .

“Relax mama bear .” She tuts , making my eyes roll to the back of my head .

“Where shall we meet ?” He grits out and it takes a minute for her to reply .

“How about the boarder of your own pack ? Let the people see how you die .” She grins , “But of course , if anything happens to me , little Felix would pay for it .” I could hear the smile on her face and I can not even fathom how someone could be so cruel .

Perhaps she was Regan’s perfect match after all…

“What do you mean ? If I hand myself over , you give Eleia Felix right away – that is the only deal I am willing to make because I don’t trust you .” Aiden snaps , his deep voice making my insides twist .

He really seems willing to die for Felix .

Elizabeth hums for a really long time , making my anxiety climb faster than a bolt of thunder strikes .

“Fine , but I won’t be alone .” She mutters , “Let’s make it at dusk – I am not ready to stop spending time with little Regan , oops – I mean Felix .” She giggles before ending the call and I stare at Aiden with glassy eyes , tears resting on the rims.

“Something’s wrong…” I shake my head , my heart clenching painfully .

I try to take steady breaths , but it burns , making it difficult to breathe .

“Just calm down .” He tucks his phone into his pocket before pulling me to his chest , hugging me tightly as his hand strokes the back of my head down to my back .

“Go rest and Stefan and I will come up with a plan .” He rubs my arms as he pulls away , forcing a smile because there is no way it could be real .

“I want to help .” I pout

“No .” He shakes his head and I slap his hands off me , “That wasn’t a question , Felix is my son , you are my mate and I will help ! You are my family and I can not just sit here or lay in bed and cry because I will loose my mind ! Don’t you get that ? Do you want me to suffer ? I need to help , I need to do something !” I bellow and Stefan is sitting on the steps , staring at us with wide eyes .

“Tell him I should help .” I snap at Stefan and I know I shouldn’t , but I have no choice – I need him to back me up here .

I need someone on my side .

“I think she’s right .” Stefan’s hands are pressed together as he leans with his elbows on his knees .

“Seriously ?” He scoffs , as if having no faith in me .

“I can do this .” I point at my chest , stepping closer , hoping to influence his decision by using our bond .

“I know , but you shouldn’t .” He argues , “But I want to . I need to .” I argue back , wishing that he can just see me for me .

“Eleia .” He starts , “No , I am helping .” I grit out , interrupting him .

“And if you loved me , you would allow it .” I threaten and his eyes soften , his hand reaching for my cheek .

“Okay .” He breathes out , nodding as his thumb drags across my cheek .

“Good , now let’s go .” I stride towards his office .

“Feisty .” I hear Stefan comment and I don’t even say something because I know that I am .

I have to be because I am a woman and now a mom too .
