I Rejected You, Alpha

AIDEN’S POV

—

I never thought that I would love the little fella , but seeing him cradled in my mate’s arms is melting my heart , breaking down the walls I had built over years . It’s currently two am and Eleia and I are wide awake because Felix decided that he needed to eat and poop and cry for about an hour for no reason .

“Is he asleep ?” I ask in a mere whisper , hoping to not wake him up even though he sleeps through noise .

“Yeah .” Eleia’s smile is priceless as she stands with her arm rested on the edge of the crib , her other hand touching Felix , letting him know that she’s there with him and always will be .

“Come back to bed .” I mutter through a yawn and she hums .

I roll out of bed , standing and I softly walk over to her , finding her eyes shut as her head lays on her arm .

I smile , biting my tongue as I try my best not to laugh at how adorable she looks .

“Come on .” I scoop her up into my arms and her eyes ping open , “I’m awake .” She murmurs , her eyes narrowed , but I could tell she thought they were wide .

“Uh huh .”

I lay her down on the bed and she cuddles into me as soon as I lay down too .

This past week with her and Felix have been amazing , she’s getting the hang of his schedule , but there are some nights that he likes to change it up , leaving her exhausted so sometimes I take over .

Waking up with the sun shining into the room , it’s quiet , a little too quiet and it feels like something is missing .

I sit up , glancing at Eleia still passed out next to me , snoring lightly , her mouth hanging open .

I glance over at the time on the clock next to my bed as I stretch my arms above my head , seeing it’s eight and my eyes widen before I jolt up and rush over to the crib .

My heart sinks as I examine the empty crib and then I see a note .

I reach for it , wiping the sleep from my eyes before I read .

‘Calm your t**s , you need rest , aunty Rosie is in the house and kidnapped Felix when he cried and neither of you woke up . Love Aunty Rosie and Uncle Stefan .’

Relief fills me and it’s like I am exhausted over again .

I yawn as I drag myself back to bed and I climb in , pulling Eleia to my chest .

“Is Felix awake ?” She murmurs with closed eyes and I chuckle , “Sort of , Rosie has him .” I grin and her eyes ping open , “What do you mean ?” The horrifying frown on her makes me want to crawl out of my skin and vanish .

“Apparently we were sleeping through the crying .” I raise my brows and Eleia sits up , glaring at me .

“Were you awake when she came in ?” The concern in her voice makes my stomach twist , “No , she left a note .” I frown.

“No..” her upper body twists and she glances at the time .

“Rosie wouldn’t even get up at eight if the house was burning , she wouldn’t hear Felix cry .” She tosses the duvet off her before jumping out of bed and she darts out the door .

I am hot on her trail and she doesn’t even knock before barging into Stefan’s room .

“Where’s Felix ?” Her hoarse voice makes my heart ache , fear making my body tremble as I stand in the door frame , seeing Rosie and Stefan asleep .

What the hell is going on ?

“Why would we have your child ?” Stefan sits up and Rosie frowns at her in confusion .

No , no , no…

“You left a note .” I breathe out , barely hearing myself think .

Rosie slowly climbs off the bed , or I’m just seeing everything in slow motion .

“We’ll find him .” Stefan also gets up , not even caring that he’s naked and he tugs his shorts on .

“Mind link , everyone .” I demand before I announce to everyone that Felix has been taken .

A lot of people answer , saying that they are on it before I just turn , leaving Eleia with Rosie before I rush down the stairs , also wearing just shorts .

I arrive outside and the bodies that are being dragged towards my home makes my b***d boil .

“What the hell ?” My arms raise in the air as I scream at them , my voice cracking .

“We don’t know sir .” The one mutters , “They were on the night shift and didn’t report anything .

I glance down at their cut throats , this wasn’t just a random attack , it was someone who planned this , someone who didn’t want to be seen and caught .

“Inform the families .” I turn , my entire body feeling like it’s about to shred apart in heartache .

Whoever killed these men , took our kid .

The moment Eleia steps out of the house , her eyes are swollen from crying , the whites of her eyes are red , her cheeks are stained with tear tracks and Rosie is holding her hand , also looking distraught as their eyes look past me at the dead bodies .

“Did you find him ?” She croaks out and I hate to crash her hopes .

I can’t speak , my mouth can not even form the words so I shake my head and she turns to Rosie , burying her face into her best friend .

How did we not wake up ?

How did they get into the house ?

How did they sneak past everyone ?

How did I not smell them ?

How did I sleep that late ?

My body feels like collapsing and I can’t even imagine what my mate is feeling because she’s completely shut off .

I stride towards her , pulling her towards me by her shoulders , “We’ll find him .” I comfort her , but it feels like a lie .

I have no clue where to start , I don’t know who would want to steal him .

The entire night pack is deceased , Regan’s parents are dead , his mate is gone , he is gone…

They must want something…

Holding my mate in my arms , she’s trembling , sobbing and her heart breaking cries makes me want to murder everyone .

“Take her for a walk .” I hand her to Rosie as I stare at Stefan standing in the door with a knowing look .

Once they walk , I follow him inside and he crosses his arms , staring at me with a serious expression .

“Spit it out .” I snap impatiently .

“We don’t sleep this late .” He points out the obvious .

“I was up most of the night with Eleia and Felix..” , “I don’t sleep this late .” He interrrupts , “And I had no one keeping me up .” His jaw rolls before tensing .

“Rosie and I have been getting up at six every morning , no matter how late we went to bed because our alarms wake us .” His tongue glides over the top row of his teeth .

I don’t know what he’s getting at , but I don’t like it .

I have never , ever , seen him this serious .ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

“Close the door .” He nods his head to behind me , “Why ?” I frown , “Just do it .” He snaps and I kick the door shut behind me , “Now , the windows are closed because we keep the air on for Felix .” He points out .

“Yes and ?” I raise a questionable brow .

“Inhale , deeply .”

My eyes narrow before I inhale a deep breath , but I start to choke on the air , coughing loudly .

“Exactly .” He tuts before rounding me and opening the door .

“No .” I slam the door shut , “We need this house to be tested .”

I mind link the scientist before running up the stairs , focusing on smelling whatever is in the air .

The stench of poison leads me to the vents that is connected to every room in this house and Stefan stays in the door .

“If you shut it off now , it will stop circulating .” He mutters and my jaw tenses .

We were poisoned by air , making us sleep…

“Who would do this ?” I sigh , sitting on the couch as I feel light headed .

“No clue , but they are smart .”

I growl at his comment , not because he’s wrong , but because he’s right .

I hate it because if a person is this smart , to knock us out while we’re asleep , how are we suppose to outsmart them ?

“All we can do is wait for the results of the tests .” He sighs , joining me and we both stare out of the window , “I hate funerals and now we have at least a dozen holes to dig again .” I grumble , hating that my warriors died and I didn’t even know because I was drugged .

“Do you think someone survived ?”

My jaw ticks at the thought , but it’s impossible because we made sure everyone was dead . Even the Luna , who did not deserve it , but she had a choice and made her bed .

“No . It has to be someone else.. outside of the pack…”

My head lols back against the back rest of the couch , “But when I find out who the hell it is… They will die like the rest of the Night Pack , but slower and a lot more painful…
