I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 471 The Argumentative

Frank did not admit it directly, but just said lightly, "Just a friend."This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

A friend? Made him change his clothes specially?

Harper didn't think so.

But she didn't ask more so as not to make him suspicious.

After finishing work in the evening, knowing that Harper's car had been sent for maintenance, Frank proposed, "I'll take you and Annie back." He wasn't asking, he was making a statement.

Harper did not refuse it. "Okay, then thank you for picking me up."

"What? Don't remember what I told you?"

He had said many times that there was no need to say thank you to him.

Harper smiled and replied, "Okay, I got it"

She and Annie sat in the back seat, while Frank drove in front.

Annie remained silent along the way, but the atmosphere was too uncomfortable to stand, so she could only take the initiative to talk to Frank.

She asked, "Frank, is your birthday coming? How are you going to celebrate it?"

Frank's birthday was in early December, which happened to be just a few days after the second round of competition.

In the past, he sometimes celebrated it with the Parkers, and sometimes invited Harper to have dinner with him.

It had been like this for basically since she had known him.

Frank was driving the car while responding softly through the rearview mirror, "I don't know yet, but if the second round goes smoothly, I treat you to a meal, okay?"

"You treat us to a meal on your birthday? If other people know it, I will be condemned. Let's do as you said. If I pass the second round smoothly, I will treat you and the staff in the company to celebrate. And we haven't had a meal together for quite a while." "Okay, deal."

"It's settled then, but don't change your mind later?"

Harper confirmed it again.

Frank nodded in agreement.

Annie asked, "Mr. Parker, if you agree so quickly now, will you break this appointment if you fall in love with the person you dated today?"

Harper held Annie's hand as if nothing happened and reminded her to say less.

Frank didn't show any emotion at all, he just smiled lightly and said, "You can rest assured on this. I have no intention of falling in love with someone for the time being. And as for the person I am dating, we are just friends."

"Does your date know what you think too?" Annie asked hotly.

He was silent for a moment, and then responded calmly, "I think we have a tacit understanding, because we didn't do anything that could cause misunderstandings from the beginning, so I don't think the problem you mentioned will happen. Of course, I know you are doing it for my own good. Thank you, Annie."

Frank smiled gently, with his eyes and brows being gentle, which did not give people any pressure.

But Annie didn't like his reaction at all. She just chuckled lightly and said in a cold voice, "Don't thank me, I'm not doing it for your own good, I'm just afraid that you will hurt the girl because of your decision."

Annie's words showed no mercy or dignity at all, and she blurted out almost whatever came to her mind. Frank became slightly stiff.

The atmosphere in the car suddenly became quiet because of Annie's words. Harper subconsciously exerted force on her hand, looked at her, and inquired, "Honey, what are you talking about?" Annie pressed her lips and blinked with an innocent look on her face.

Harper sighed helplessly, and said in a low voice, "Frank, Annie has no other intentions. She is in a bad mood recently."

Frank just smiled and said in a gentle voice, "It's okay, she's outspoken, I don't mind."

Annie rolled her eyes but shut up.

Back to the door of the apartment, the car stopped steadily. Annie got out of the car first, and then waited for Harper next to the car.

Harper said to Frank, "Drive carefully."

"Okay."

"Okay, bye."

"Bye."
