Chapter 401

Annie let go of Harper, but she had no intention of pulling away. She said, "Mr. Martin, I'm a patient. Would you mind if I hug your wife?"
"I think I would mind," Benjamin said bluntly.
Annie rested her head on Harper's shoulder. "Mr. Martin, I helped convince the Jones Group to cooperate with you. You can't just burn bridges like that, can you?" "Well, this is different. If you need help with work, just let me know," Benjamin said.
He was implying that she couldn't hug Harper just because of the favor she did.
Harper remained silent.
Annie teased her, "Harper, look how mean Mr. Martin is."
"He's mean to me too, so let's not provoke him," Harper said.
"You're no fun," Annie snorted.
Harper smiled. Benjamin interrupted their conversation and asked, "Let me know when Mr. Jones will come to Mayby. I'll arrange for someone to pick him up." "I'll let you know after he confirms the time," Annie said.
"Okay."
Benjamin remained calm throughout.
After a brief interlude, Annie returned to the opposite room, leaving Harper and Benjamin alone.
Benjamin took Harper into his arms and asked, "Am I mean to you?"
Harper paused and replied, "No."
"Really?" Benjamin asked again.
Harper nodded. "Yes. I was just joking with Annie."
"Keep some distance from her. I don't like you being too close to her," Benjamin said.
He was serious, without a hint of joking.
Harper was stunned.
Was she too close to Annie?
And Benjamin wanted her to keep her distance from Annie?
Harper chuckled.
"I'm friends with Annie."
"Even friends don't need to hug each other, right?" Benjamin argued.
"Well, don't you often hang out with Larry? Do you guys never lean on each other?" Harper said.
"Of course not," Benjamin denied. When they went out drinking, it was just drinking and chatting. Nobody dared to lean on him. As for others, he didn't care.
Harper was speechless.
Met with her silence, Benjamin reminded her, "Remember, don't get too close to her. Even if she's a
woman, I don't like "
Harper felt helpless.

Benjamin was so domineering.
A smile was Harper's only response, and Benjamin took it as her agreement.
Later, Harper complained to Annie about this, but Annie joked, "Are you showing off your love to me?"
"I'm just venting to you," Harper said.
"But I only see happiness all over your face, no signs of venting," Annie said.
"If you say so, then I can't help it," Harper said.
Annie snorted, "Hopeless!"
Benjamin arrived in the office, followed by Curtis, who closed the door behind him.
Benjamin sat down at his desk, and Curtis handed him the work schedule. While he checked it, Curtis said, "Mr. Martin, we have results." Benjamin glanced at him.
Curtis continued, "We found ten
people who recently entered and et
exited Mayby. After investigation, we
narrowed it down to one person, named Jorge Barber."
