Chapter 379
Unmarried
Harper provided her location and inquired, "What's up?"
"Did you meet with Dorcas?"
Benjamin's tone was neutral, but it made Harper feel slightly uncomfortable, with a hint of interrogation and blame.
Harper narrowed her eyes slightly and replied, "Yes, I just met with Dorcas."
Benjamin spoke gently. "Harper, if there's anything you want to know, you can ask me. Dorcas and I are just classmates and friends. We've been in contact more due to work reasons. If you're not happy about it, I can assign the collaboration to someone else, okay?" Harper furrowed her brows and asked, "Benjamin, are you explaining this to me?"
"Then what do you think I meant by saying those words?"
"Do you think I met with Dorcas because I'm upset? Are you worried that my mood will affect the baby?"
"Harper!" His voice lowered slightly, carrying a hint of warning as he asked, "So, what did you meet with Dorcas for?"
"Just for a chat, what else did you think we could do?"
Harper's tone was casual, showing no signs of displeasure.
Benjamin frowned, "Are you sure you're not upset?"
"Benjamin, do you think I'm the type to go looking for trouble?"
"I didn't mean that. I just don't want you to misunderstand. If you want to know something, you can ask me directly. I'll tell you everything you want to know."
"Is it always like this?"
"Yes, it's always like this."
His sincerity in saying this made Harper smile.
But Harper didn't actually ask any further questions. It was a promise from Benjamin. Perhaps it would come in handy in the future.
Harper felt cheerful after a pleasant chat with Benjamin. At this moment, Yinson called her with good news.
Yinson said, "Wanda's health is recovering well, and preparations for the transplant surgery will begin soon. Once she's fully recovered, the surgery can proceed. You can talk to Eleanor first, and let her know."
"I understand, thank you, Dr. Gene."

"You're welcome. Talk to Eleanor, and let me know the results so I can prepare." "Okay."
After the call with Yinson, Harper went straight to the hospital.
As she arrived outside Eleanor's hospital room, she overheard two nurses conversing in hushed tones. "Did you hear? Lauren's mother
going to have surgery soon, but set
Laure hasn't been to the hospital in days. Her own mother is about to undergo major surgery, and she's not even showing up. Isn't she a terrible daughter?"
"Who knows? She's a public figure, maybe she's here and we just don't know."
"I hope so. I just think she's not good to her mother at all."
Harper didn't listen further and knocked on Eleanor's room door to accompany her.
After learning that Wanda's surgery was in preparation, Eleanor finally agreed.
A nurse came to inform them of a routine blood test, so Harper pushed Eleanor's wheelchair to go.
Eleanor was reluctant, feeling thatNôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.

muttering, "I can walk, why do you have to push me around? What if you get tired with your big belly?"
Harper found it amusing and said, "If you don't mention my big belly, no one would even know. So let's keep it quiet. Maybe some people still think I'm unmarried?" "You're always bantering."
Harper asked with a smile, "Because you dote on me. If I don't banter with you, do you want me to banter with others?"
Eleanor waved her hand. "Then go banter with others."
"Don't be two-faced. I know you don't really want me to go."
"Pfft!"
Eleanor looked disdainful, but there was a growing smile on her face.
