I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 319

Chapter 319 Let Go

Harper didn't answer. After glancing at Benjamin, she said, "Didn't you say you were eating with Larry and the others outside? Why did you come back so quickly?" "I'm getting ready to go out. Would you like to come with me?"

"No." Harper had quarreled with Larry because of Annie. After all, they hadn't seen each other for a long time. She felt embarrassed to meet him and thus refused. Benjamin seemed to see through her thoughts and smiled, "Are you afraid of being embarrassed to see him?"

"No. Meeting him makes me feel sorry for Annie."

Knowing that this was just an excuse for her to decline, Benjamin stopped persuading her.

Staring at Harper intently for a few seconds, he asked, "What happened at the Mitchell Manor? Aren't you going to tell me?"

Harper met Benjamin's gaze and then told him about her uneasiness and speculation.

He said, "Do you suspect that there's something wrong with Wulf? You brought it up with your dad, only to be met with blame instead."

Squinting her eyes, Harper didn't answer but asked coldly, "Would it be unkind of me if I stopped interfering in the Mitchell family's affairs?"

Benjamin stared at her face, which was not stunning yet very attractive. His deep eyes were warm, and his voice was low and deep. "You have done enough. Even if you let go completely now, no one will reproach you." Harper just smiled and did not continue the topic. She said, "It's getting late. You'd better go to meet Larry quickly."

Benjamin took a deep look at her and went out after making sure that she was really fine.

When the door was closed, Harper leaned on the sofa and fixed her eyes on the ceiling in a daze.

Suddenly, something occurred to her. Lauren had not contacted Benjamin recently.

They seemed to have been out of touch.

Harper wondered if it were true.

She casually picked up her phone and searched for Lauren's information on Twitter, only to learn that Lauren was training in isolation to prepare for a concert.

More surprisingly, Lauren's studio had been disbanded, and she now belonged to an entertainment company owned by the Martin Group.

In other words, all her resources were given by Benjamin.

At that moment, Harper couldn't

help but scoff at herself. Because of

recent events, she had always convinced herself that some changes were taking place between her and Benjamin. Now, it appeared these notions were nothing more than foolish fantasies.

She reminded herself not to be blinded by the temporary illusions.

Apart from that, she still wanted to thank Benjamin because he had helped her a lot.

However, with each occurrence, she found herself increasingly bewildered. She muttered, "Harper! Harper, what fantasies are you indulging in? This is reality. How could imagination ever come true?"

She pondered, "But why has he been so gentle and thoughtful recently?

Is it really just for the baby?"

Harper didn't get an answer and felt particularly depressed.

She deliberately started avoiding Benjamin. She feared succumbing to his kindness, losing herself, and unexpectedly falling under his spe once more. To reduce her

self

interactions with Benjamin, she began making excuses and stopped accepting rides from him to the company.

When Benjamin left, she drove away by herself.

After a few times, Benjamin noticed that Harper was distancing herself from him again, but he couldn't

At the office, Harper and Frank were reviewing designs submitted by employees competing for Harper's assistant position.
