Harper was a cautious person who always tried to prepare for any possible risks and accidents.

Sophia nodded in agreement. After she turned around and walked into the building, Harper drove towards the Martin Group.

She didn't call Benjamin but took the elevator up.

The receptionist knew Harper and her identity and greeted Harper warmly.

Harper arrived at the floor where Benjamin's office was. As soon as she walked to the door, she saw Curtis coming out. "Mr. Yost, is Benjamin inside?"

Curtis quickly nodded and politely said, "Yes." Then, he pushed open the door and said to Benjamin, "Mr. Martin, Mrs. Martin is here."

Benjamin looked over, his gaze falling on Harper.

Curtis closed the door, leaving Harper and Benjamin in the office.

After an eye contact, Harper asked, "Did I bother you?"

Sensing a hint of unfamiliarity, Benjamin frowned slightly. He asked in a low voice, "Do you come here for a reason?"

Harper walked to the sofa and sat down. Benjamin walked over slowly. She said, "I just went to the hospital."

"Did you go to see your dad?" Benjamin asked.

"No." Harper shook her head. "I went to see the two employees who jumped from the building."

He frowned and said, "Did you go there yourself? Why didn't you tell me? The injured employees can't find anyone to claim compensation now. It's very dangerous for you to come. Did you argue??" His questioning was hurried, making Harper confused about where to start her answer.

She compressed her lips slightly and said gently, "I didn't disclose my identity. I just pretended to visit my friend, and the employees didn't even know I was there."

Benjamin felt slightly relieved.

He asked, "Did you hear anything?"

"Yes." Harper nodded and told Benjamin what she had heard in the hospital.

Benjamin asked, "So you don't think this is just employees jumping off the building because they were laid off?"

"Of course, if it was just because they were fired, their families and

friends wouldn't have gath

tried to think of a solution," said Harper.

He smiled faintly, "You are quite good at speculating people's thoughts."

"Mr. Martin, isn't this a normal response?"

and

Benjamin smiled and looked at her. After this incident, he suddenly realized he hadn't known about Harper before. She seemed to hide many things that he didn't learn about.

He said, "How about I send Curtis to help you for two days?"

"Is it okay?" Harper asked with an expectant look.

Benjamin smiled, "Have you thought about it?"

"Of course not," Harper denied.

"You sure?"

"Fine, I have indeed thought about it, but I didn't expect you to read my mind. So, Benjamin, you must keep your word."

Harper didn't even realize that her tone was tinged with coquetry and sounded slightly domineering. Benjamin had been staring at her.

In the end, Harper exchanged a meal

with Benjamin for Curtis. And

Benjamin asked her to wait for him

to get off work so they could go

back together.

Because Harper was there, Benjamin didn't let Curtis send him off but drove the car himself.

On the way back, Benjamin asked Harper, "Why are you so concerned about the Mitchell family's affairs?"

Harper was slightly stunned and said, "Just a little favor."

Then, she turned her head and looked out the window. Benjamin glanced at her and asked in a lowered voice, "Isn't it because you're soft-hearted?"
