Chapter 928: Stay Out of Other People's Affairs

After hearing Anthony's words, Nydia asked in confusion, "Why? Brother, Mia is my good friend. She's

in trouble now, and Bonnie is to blame. Why can't I..."

"Mia!" Anthony called out her full name.

As soon as Mia heard Anthony's serious tone, the words she wanted to refute got stuck on her lips.

Anthony's voice came through the phone, filled with darkness. "If your actions cause trouble for the

Austi family or even your parents, let me tell you, Haider is not just an entertainment company's boss. I

know better than you how Myles operates in the black market. Do you really think Haider is clean in all

of this? If he really wants to harm you, even I won't be able to protect you. You better think it through."

With that said, Anthony paused. "Also, it's best if you stop meddling in other people's affairs with your

little schemes. You're too foolish for your own good. Stay out of it."

Mia was about to say something, but Anthony didn't give her a chance to speak. After saying those

words, he hung up the phone.

Mia stood at the entrance of the hospital, looking at the disconnected phone in her hand, and could

only stomp her foot in frustration.

Because of Haider's strong attitude, the Read family naturally didn't dare to make any more moves.

Nolan, being someone who knows how to adapt, wouldn't have any other thoughts after Haider's

words.

But Jenny was different. After returning to the Read family, she caused another scene with Nolan.

Before the commotion in her own family had settled, in the evening, Eduard personally delivered a

lawyer's letter to Nolan.

Jenny didn't calm down until she saw Nolan holding the lawyer's letter in his hand.

Nolan never expected Haider's actions to be so quick. They had just talked about it during the day, and

now the lawyer's letter was delivered in the evening.

As Nolan looked at the contents of the letter, he angrily threw it at Jenny's face. "Are you satisfied now?

Are you?"

This time, Jenny didn't dare to argue back. She stood there, at a loss for words.

Mia's body was still in the morgue of the police station. They believed that there must be other reasons Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

for Mia's sudden fall from the building, so they hadn't claimed her body yet.

Now they were stuck in a difficult situation.

After venting his anger, Nolan looked at Jenny who was still standing there and said in a deep voice,

"What are you still doing here? Hurry up and get ready to go to the police station to bring Mia back."

Upon hearing Nolan's words, Jenny finally snapped out of her daze. She quickly tidied up and followed

Nolan to the police station to claim Mia's disfigured body.

At the hospital...

Under the persuasion of Bonnie, Freddy, Haider, and Yanis, Travis was convinced to go back.

Freddy initially wanted to stay, but Haider refused, saying, "Uncle Cooke, you should go back with Old

Mr. Cooke. I'll stay with Bonnie. If anything happens, I'll contact you immediately."

Freddy nodded in response. "Alright, take care then."

Haider shook his head and personally accompanied Travis and Freddy downstairs. He watched them

get into the car and leave before turning back into the hospital.

As Haider entered the hospital lobby, he received a call from Eduard.

Haider answered the call. "What's up?"

Eduard spoke in a low voice. "Mr. Hughes, as per your instructions, I personally delivered the lawyer's

letter to Nolan. His expression changed as soon as he saw it."

After listening to Eduard, Haider murmured, "I see. Keep an eye on the Read family and prevent them

from bothering the Cooke family."

Eduard responded, "Alright, I have people watching them."

Haider acknowledged and hung up the phone.

Back in the room, as Haider saw Yanis, he remembered something and paused at the door. He sent a

message to Zane, asking him to come and pick up Yanis to rest.

Then he put away his phone and entered the room.

"Yanis, you should go rest for a while. I'll stay here today. If anything happens, there are nurses around.

You haven't rested for a whole day and night. Mr. Lawrence will come to take you back later," Haider

said.

Bonnie added, "Let Mr. Lawrence come to pick you up so you can rest. Haider is here, so everything

will be fine. Plus, there are nurses and doctors around."

Yanis knew that if she stayed any longer, it would only worry Bonnie. So she nodded in agreement.

After Yanis nodded, Haider spoke in a timely manner, "I've already messaged Mr. Lawrence. He should

be here soon."

Yanis responded with an "okay."

When Zane came to pick up Yanis, Stella and Wendy left the room as well.

After everyone left, only Haider and Bonnie remained in the quiet room. They didn't speak for a long

time.

Finally, Yanis broke the silence and asked

, "Haider, what did the Read family say?"

Upon hearing Bonnie's question, Haider turned his gaze to her face, then spoke in a low voice, "They

didn't say much, just causing a scene for their own peace of mind. You don't have to worry about these

things anymore. I'll take care of them."

After saying this, Haider looked at Bonnie and said softly, "Myles is gone now, and you are my sister.

From now on, I will take care of everything for you."

Bonnie smiled and said, "I haven't officially entered the Hughes family yet, all because of Myles."

Hearing Bonnie's words, Haider couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. "Yes, all because of him. I'll

make sure to deal with him when I see him."

Bonnie nodded. "Okay."

Sometimes, it's best to keep conversations brief and not say too much deliberately. Both parties

understood each other.

Bonnie was discharged from the hospital ten days later.

During these ten days, the child grew slightly, and Bonnie even noticed a resemblance to Myles in the

child's facial features, just as she had hoped.

However, Yanis also noticed something that worried her.

Bonnie's condition didn't seem as good as it appeared. In fact, it wasn't entirely normal.

Sometimes, Bonnie would stare at the child without blinking, her gaze fixed on them.

And sometimes, when Yanis said many sentences, Bonnie wouldn't hear a word. After a long while,

she would suddenly turn to Yanis and ask what she had just said.

When Yanis noticed this, she immediately told Haider.

Upon hearing Yanis' words, Haider promptly contacted Dr. Watson to inquire about the situation.
