Zane's phone beeped twice, and Albi immediately sent over the photos of the car.
Zane was also taken aback when he saw the photos. The front headlights were completely smashed,
and the front bumper was heavily dented, as if a major accident had occurred.
After looking at the photos, Zane handed his phone to Allan. "No recollection?"
Allan's gaze fell on Zane's phone screen, and he furrowed his brow. "Damn! It was such a hard
collision?"
Mitch, upon hearing Allan's words, also glanced ahead and didn't know what to say when she saw the
photos on the phone.
She regretted kicking Allan just now.
"You don't even remember if you crashed your own car?" Mitch asked Allan.
Allan rubbed his temple with his hand. "I really don't remember at all. At that time, I was only focused
on finding Reed as quickly as possible. I have no recollection of whether there was a collision or not. I
don't even know where my car was parked."
After listening to Allan's words, Mitch felt speechless. "Then... do you want to go upstairs and rest for a
while until you're completely sober before leaving?"
Allan looked surprised when he heard Mitch's suggestion. "Me? Go upstairs?"
Mitch gave Allan a sarcastic look. "You better just stay here."
After saying that, Mitch turned to Zane. "Mr. Lawrence, I'll go to the hospital to check on my mom first.
I'll go to the company later today. I already told Albi."
Zane replied, "Don't go to the company today. Go to the hospital and take care of your mom. Reed has
Yanis here, so nothing will happen."
Mitch nodded and, before leaving, looked at Allan. "You can use my room to rest for a while. When
you're sober, get lost!"
Allan laughed. "After all, I'm older than you. Why are you so impolite?" This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Mitch ignored Allan, said goodbye to Zane, and then walked away.
After Mitch left, Zane looked at Allan. "Not going upstairs?"
Allan smiled. "Of course I am. Why wouldn't I? Let's go!"
Saying that, Allan turned around and headed inside.
Zane followed a step behind Allan and asked, "Will those people come back in the future?"
After hearing Zane's question, Allan slowed his pace. "Do you believe what I said earlier?"
"What?" Zane asked.
"I said as long as I'm with them, they won't come back," Allan replied.
"I don't believe it."
Allan laughed. "There aren't many good people who can hang around with Nealon. Even if Sameer had
been wholeheartedly dedicated to them, they wouldn't appreciate it. Now that Nealon is inside, they
have no way out. When they don't have money, they always blame others for their problems."
"Blame Sameer?"
"Why not? If Sameer hadn't helped Yanis back then, do you think he would be dead? If he hadn't
helped Yanis, the subsequent events wouldn't have happened, and they wouldn't have been caught by
the police. They put all the blame on the Mi family."
"Then why did you say that earlier?"
"Mitch's personality is really different from Sameer's. She's a bit impulsive. If I had told her the truth,
how do you think she would react?"
Allan paused for a few seconds. "They got the money this time, so they can leave. But what about next
time? They'll want more, and it will be like an endless pit that can never be filled."
"The policewon't intervene?"
"Reporting this kind of thing to the police will only make them crazier. Mia and the others are still young.
If they really target them, I won't be able to protect them," Allan leaned against the elevator wall. "If
they really harm Mia and the others and then get caught, is that kind of ending meaningful?"
If those people truly wanted to do something, their methods wouldn't be too merciful. Just because they
didn't harm Reed this time didn't mean they wouldn't do it next time.
After listening to Allan's words, Zane glanced at him. "You seem quite concerned about their safety."
Allan met Zane's gaze and replied, "What about Yanis? Wouldn't you do the same?"
Without continuing the conversation, Zane asked, "So, what's your plan now?"
Allan remained silent for a few seconds and then responded, "Let's talk about it later. Once the project
here starts, I'll make a trip back to Viteto. There are some things that need to be resolved once and for
all, or else they'll become a troublesome mess in the future."
As they entered, although the door was closed, Yanis and Reed were nowhere to be seen in the living
room.
Zane, upon realizing that Yanis wasn't there, was about to call her when Allan raised his hand to stop
him. "They should be in the room."
Hearing Allan's words, Zane put his phone away and looked at Allan. "Are you really sober now or
not?"
Allan walked up and sat on the sofa. "I was slightly drunk, but that kid Mitch just kicked me and woke
me up."
Zane glanced at him. "You could have avoided that."
Allan said, "If I had avoided it, he would have challenged me today. There was no need for that."
Zane couldn't fully understand Allan's reasoning, but he didn't say much.
But Allan's words were somewhat true. If Yanis encountered a situation like the one at the Mi's, his
choice would undoubtedly be the same as Allan's.
The two of them sat outside for a while before Yanis finally came out from inside.
Upon seeing Yanis coming out alone, Allan immediately stood up. "Where is she?"
"She's sleeping," Yanis replied, glancing at the living room. "What about Mitch?"
Zane took over the conversation. "He went to the hospital."
Yanis nodded and then looked at Allan. "Will you stay here to take care of Reed?"
Allan hesitated for a moment. "Why don't you do it? I... I might still be a little hungover."
Zane glanced at Allan's face upon hearing his words.
Allan pretended not to notice Zane's gaze and said, "Which room is Mitch's? I'll go sleep in his room for
a while."
Considering Allan's condition last night, Yanis decided to stay and take care of Reed. "It's the innermost
room upstairs."
Allan acknowledged and went upstairs directly.
After Allan left, Yanis looked at Zane. "Did he fight with Mitch?"
"No," Zane replied, reaching out and pulling Yanis to sit on the sofa. "How is Reed doing?"
"He might be a bit shocked," Yanis said.
Zane checked the time. "Are you planning to stay here?"
Yanis replied, "Allan won't be able to take care of Reed properly. I'll wait for Mitch to come back here.
And what about you? Will you go to the company first?"
"Shall I accompany you?" Zane suggested.
Yanis said, "No need. You go ahead and take care of your work. I'll take a taxi back later."
"In that case, I'll go buy some breakfast for you. I'll leave after you finish eating."
Upon hearing Zane's words, Yanis suddenly realized that they hadn't eaten breakfast yet.
Yanis turned to look in the direction of the kitchen and then said, "You can go to the company later. I'll
cook something for you to eat."
