Chapter 840: Yanis, Be Happy Always
Yanis saw that Zane had made up his mind to go together, so she didn't say anything more. "Lead the
way," she said.
Zane nodded and looked at Ivan. "Join us in the same car?"
Ivan quickly waved his hand. "No, spare my life. I'll stay."
After speaking, Ivan directly got into Teddy's car. "You two go ahead, we'll meet at the airport."
Bonnie waved at Yanis. "If you want, you can find a place to have fun too. Ivan and I will take care of
the transportation."
After hearing Bonnie's words, Yanis rolled her eyes at her and silently said, "Shut up!"
Bonnie stuck her tongue out at Yanis. "Let's go then!"
Yanis watched Teddy's car drive away before walking with Zane towards where they had parked earlier.
"Are you sure it's fine for you to be away for so long?" Yanis asked, still concerned, as she got into the
car.
"It's fine. They won't finish anytime soon," Zane reassured her.
Upon hearing Zane's words, Yanis didn't say anything more.
It would take at least an hour to reach the airport from Banyan Garden.
By the time they arrived at the airport, it was already 2 o'clock.
They had about half an hour left before the check-in time.
Yanis and Zane were the first to arrive at the airport. They found a parking spot for the car and waited
inside.
Soon, Teddy's car pulled up behind theirs.
When Yanis saw Bonnie getting out of the car, she opened her door and got out as well.
Teddy took Ivan's suitcase from the trunk. "It's about time, you should go in."
Ivan reached out and took the suitcase from Teddy. "You guys can go back now. I'll go straight in for
check-in."
"Ivan, looking forward to seeing you next time," Bonnie hugged Ivan and whispered softly.
After speaking, Bonnie paused for a moment and said in a voice only heard by the two of them, "It's
time to let go of the person in your heart. She's going to be your sister from now on."
Upon hearing Bonnie's words, Ivan softly replied, "Okay."
Only then did Bonnie let go of Ivan's embrace and turned to Zane, who was standing on the side. "Mr.
Lawrence."
"What?" Zane asked.
"Can you be generous for once? Let our Ivan hug Yanis?"
Zane glanced at Ivan and then let go of Yanis' hand. "If I don't agree, it seems like I'm rejecting Miss
Cooke's face."
Bonnie couldn't help but laugh after hearing Zane's words. Then she gave Zane a thumbs-up. "Mr.
Lawrence, you're generous!"
Yanis stepped forward and hugged Ivan. "Ivan, this is our home, with me, with us."
Ivan raised his hand and hugged Yanis back. "Yanis, be happy always."
"You too. Actually, Phoebe isn't bad. We can become even closer family," Yanis said.
Listening to Yanis, Ivan chuckled softly. "For you, I will consider it carefully."
Yanis smiled. "Okay."
"Ivan, it's almost time," Zane stepped forward and pulled Yanis out of Ivan's embrace and into his own.
"We can check-in now."
Ivan met Zane's gaze. "Take care."
As he spoke, Ivan took a step forward and whispered in a voice only heard by the two of them,
"Offending your little brother-in-law won't end well."
Zane narrowed his eyes. "Then let's see who comes out on top."
Ivan nodded. "We'll see in the future."
Yanis didn't understand what the two of them were talking about, and Bonnie looked puzzled as well.
"Are you using a secret code? Can't let others know?"
"We can't let you know," Ivan replied. "Alright, you guys go back."
After Ivan went inside, the rest of them got into the car and left.
"I'll go with Teddy, you guys go on your own," Bonnie said, not wanting to be the third wheel, so she
chose Teddy's car.
Yanis looked at her. "After you go back, make sure to rest. I'll take care of things at the store."
"Got it. After I go back, I'll go to the Qin family's place. The Old Mr. Lawrence keeps nagging me every
day, saying I've forgotten about family," Bonnie said, pausing for a moment. "You too, it's been a long
time since you've been there. Let's go together another day and let the Old Mr. Lawrence nag at both of
us. It's unfair if he only nags at me."
Yanis nodded. "Alright, we'll go together in a couple of days."
After Yanis and Zane returned, they went back to Banyan Garden.
After parking the car, Zane went around to Yanis' side and opened the car door. "Come out."
"Is it appropriate for me to go up?" Yanis still had some hesitation.
Zane leaned down and helped Yanis undo her seatbelt, whispering softly, "You know them."
After hearing Zane's words, Yanis was slightly stunned. "I know them?"
Zane nodded and reached out to help Yanis out of the car, closing the door behind her.
After following Zane inside and seeing the people in the private room, Yanis was slightly surprised. Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
She didn't expect the business partners Zane mentioned would be Allan and Evan.
Since Myles' incident, Yanis hadn't seen much of Evan.
"Yanis, long time no see," Evan greeted Yanis when he saw her.
Yanis nodded. "Long time no see."
Not only Evan, but Yanis hadn't seen much of Allan in Manches City either.
Allan seemed a bit drunk, and his speech was a bit slurred. "Long time no see... Yanis."
Yanis looked at the tipsy Allan. "He's drinking so much in broad daylight?"
Evan chuckled. "He still hasn't made it up to that little girl he offended."
"Offended a little girl?"
When Yanis heard Evan's words, the first person she thought of was Reed.
Evan nodded. "You should know that little girl too."
Upon hearing Evan's words, Yanis quickly realized that he was talking about Reed.
"Please have a seat first," Zane pulled out a chair for Yanis and let her sit down.
After Yanis took her seat, she turned her head to Allan, who was leaning on a chair nearby. "How did
you offend Reed?"
Allan squinted at Yanis and gave her a quick look. "That little brat... wouldn't listen to advice."
"Wouldn't listen to advice?"
Allan nodded but didn't say anything more.
He was probably too drunk; he seemed a bit dazed.
"Maybe it's better to wait until he sobers up before asking him. In this state, he won't be able to give a
coherent answer," Evan whispered.
Yanis acknowledged with a nod.
Yanis listened to a few sentences of Evan and Zane's conversation, then lowered her head and played
with her phone.
By the time they left Banyan Garden, it was already close to three o'clock.
Evan helped Allan into the car and then turned to Zane. "We'll talk about the other matters when the
guy sobers up. But your assistant can really hold her liquor."
"She's trained," Zane raised an eyebrow. "If she's going to be my assistant, she needs to handle
alcohol."
Evan raised his eyebrow. "Being your assistant requires passing an alcohol test?"
