Chapter 824: Zane, Give Me a Hug
Zane responded upon hearing the voice, "Let's wait until Yanis wakes up."
Ivan nodded, "Alright."
The two of them sat there, Zane on the left and Ivan on the right, without saying a word.
Apart from the faint sound of breathing, there was no other unnecessary noise in the room.
After a while, Ivan checked the time and then looked at Zane, "I'll go check on Bonnie and come back
later."
Zane replied, "Okay."
Ivan got up and left for Bonnie's ward.
When Ivan entered, Bonnie was still muttering and complaining about something.
Upon hearing the movement at the door, Bonnie looked up and was somewhat shocked to see Ivan
entering. "Why are you back?"
Ivan approached her, "I had some things to attend to, so I came back."
Saying that, Ivan turned to greet Stella before pulling out a chair and sitting down.
Bonnie looked at Ivan, "Did you go see Yanis?"
Ivan responded, "Just came from there."
Bonnie sighed, "You almost missed seeing her today."
Upon hearing about the situation from Albi, Bonnie burst into tears on the spot.
Perhaps due to her pregnancy, Bonnie cried loudly as if something had happened to Yanis.
It was only with the combined efforts of Wendy and Stella that they managed to console her.
Albi was stunned on the spot. After all, Bonnie had always given him the impression of being a strong
and independent woman. Suddenly seeing Bonnie crying like a child, he couldn't quite react.
Ivan gently comforted Bonnie a few more times.
Once Bonnie's emotions calmed down, she began to criticize Yanis for not listening.
"Yes, yes, yes, when she wakes up, you must teach her a lesson! How can she not listen!" Ivan echoed
Bonnie's words and finally managed to calm her down.
"Ivan, please talk some sense into her. She's been going on and on about it here. The doctor wants her
to rest, but she's been fussing all night," Stella couldn't help but say to Ivan.
Ivan glanced at the time and then looked at Bonnie, "With Zane there by Yanis's side, everything will be
fine. You should go to sleep. If you don't sleep, the baby won't be able to rest either."
"He's been sleeping inside my belly all this time. What does it have to do with me not sleeping?"
Bonnie retorted.
Ivan was speechless.
Stella sighed, "Maybe I should have a doctor or nurse explain to you how your emotions can affect the
baby?"
Bonnie glared at Stella, "Do you think I can sleep now?"
"If you can't sleep, you still need to rest. With Mr. Lawrence taking care of Yanis, what are you worried
about? That he won't take care of his own wife?" Stella looked at Bonnie and said.
Bonnie wanted to retort, but couldn't find a suitable argument and ended up closing her mouth with a
sullen expression. "Fine, I'll sleep. If Yanis wakes up, make sure she tells me. Wake me up if I'm still
asleep!"
"Alright, get some sleep."
Yanis woke up later than the doctor had anticipated, not until the next morning. As soon as Yanis woke
up, Zane sensed it and sat up straight, "Yanis?"
After hearing Zane's voice, Yanis wanted to respond but found her throat sore and unable to speak
properly.
Zane reached for a cup of water from the side and handed her a straw for Yanis to take a few sips
before speaking again, "How are you feeling?"
Yanis shook her head, her eyebrows furrowing. Her voice sounded hoarse as she spoke, "I feel...
uncomfortable."
Upon hearing Yanis's words, Zane put down the cup and said softly, "I'll call the doctor."
Yanis made a sound of agreement.
Zane pressed the call button, then sat back down by the bed and looked at Yanis, "Is there anything
else bothering you?"
Yanis looked at Zane and gently traced her fingers over his eyebrows, "Zane."
"I'm here," Zane replied.
Yanis called his name again, "Zane."
"I'm here," Zane repeated.
Yanis called out his name several times, and when the doctor arrived, she withdrew her hand and
immediately grabbed Zane's hand tightly.
Yanis didn't let go of Zane's hand even during the examination performed by the doctor. It was as if she
feared that once she let go, Zane would disappear.
After the doctor finished examining Yanis and confirmed that there were no issues, Zane finally relaxed.
"Do you want something to eat?"
Yanis shook her head, "I have no appetite."
After speaking, Yanis reached out her hand to Zane, "Zane, hold me."
Zane looked at Yanis opening her arms towards him and bent down to embrace her. He whispered in
her ear, "Yanis, I've always been here and will always be here."
Yanis made a sound of agreement. NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
Although she didn't know what had happened afterward, she knew that Zane had followed Neve's
instructions for her sake. Fortunately, Neve still had some regard for Zane, so he wasn't harmed.
If Neve had completely disregarded Zane, he wouldn't have come out unscathed from the incident
yesterday.
Thinking about these things, Yanis held Zane tighter in her arms.
Feeling Yanis holding him tightly, Zane also tightened his grip.
The two of them embraced each other, unwilling to part. Suddenly, the door to the hospital room was
pushed open, and Bonnie, upon seeing the two people embracing on the bed, froze for a moment
before quickly retreating and closing the door behind her.
Ivan looked at Bonnie's sudden exit and reached out to support her, "What are you doing?"
"It's not the right time for us to be here," Bonnie said, looking at Ivan. "Let's come back later."
Ivan was about to speak when the door that Bonnie had just closed was opened again.
Zane stood in the doorway, looking at the two people outside, "Come in."
Bonnie glanced inside, "Would it be inconvenient for us to come in?"
Zane raised an eyebrow, "Then don't come in."
After saying that, Zane glanced at Ivan, "What about you?"
Ivan cleared his throat, "Come in."
After Ivan finished speaking, he stepped into the room.
Bonnie hesitated for a moment and followed behind Ivan into the room.
Zane reached out his hand and walked to Yanis's bedside, looking at her, "I'll go back now and make
breakfast for you. I'll be back soon."
Yanis nodded, "Okay."
"What are you doing?" Upon hearing the conversation between the two, Bonnie couldn't help but ask.
Yanis responded, "Breakfast."
Bonnie said, "Wendy said she'll come later and bring your portion."
After hearing Bonnie's words, Yanis looked at Zane, "Then I don't need it. I'll eat when we go back."
Zane made a sound of agreement, "Alright."
Stella left last night in the middle of the night, while Ivan stayed in Bonnie's ward for the night. Now that
Yanis was fine, everyone felt relieved.
