Chapter 815 Disappointment

"Is he coming to pick you up?" Bonnie asked on the phone.

Yanis replied, "Just called him, he'll be here soon. You should let him in, standing outside like this

makes it seem like something's wrong with our store."

Hearing Yanis' words, Bonnie hesitated a bit. "Should I reorder and find someone who can hide in a

place we can't see?"

"Bonnie, really no need for that. Just let him come back," Yanis said.

"Okay then, I'll send them back?" Bonnie confirmed.

Yanis agreed with a sound of affirmation. "I'll take a shower at home first and then come over to keep

you company. I'll bring dinner from home."

"No need for dinner; my dad and grandpa will be here soon and they're bringing food," Bonnie said.

"The Old Mr. Cooke and Uncle Cooke are coming? Should I come later then?" Yanis asked.

"If you don't want to come tonight it's fine too; there's nothing much going on here except me sleeping,"

Bonnie replied.

"But there should still be someone around just in case something happens. Who will take care of you if

you're alone over there?" Yanis insisted.

"Don't worry about me; there are nurses around," Bonnie assured her friend.

Without saying much more, Yanis simply stated: "I'm coming over now so make sure those people

outside leave first."

"I got it." With that final exchange between friends concluded, Yanis hung up the phone before turning

around to head out again into the store proper where Linda was waiting for her with an odd question:

"Yanis what are those people doing? Did Boss Bonnie owe them money or something?"

Yanis couldn't help but laugh at Linda's wild imagination: "Where do you get these ideas from? Is your

boss really someone who owes money?"

"It could happen! What if she had a bad day or spent too much money somewhere else before owing

some big shot lots of cash... and now they've come looking for her..." Linda trailed off as she continued

spinning her tale until Stanley interrupted their conversation by walking up behind them both:

"What is going on? Why all this fuss?" Stanley asked as he looked between his two colleagues

curiously while trying not to laugh at their antics too hard himself - especially when Linda started talking

about how she'd met Mr Lawrence once already!

"Just wondering what those people were doing outside earlier..." Yanis began explaining before being

cut off by Stanley again: Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Oh right! Those guys were just some delivery men dropping off supplies!" He chuckled softly while

shaking his head slightly at how easily rumors could spread among coworkers sometimes...

Linda rolled her eyes playfully as she turned away from both of them: "You guys are such drama

queens sometimes!"

Stanley glanced at Linda before turning to attend to his own tasks. Linda didn't even notice someone

was behind her and continued talking to Yanis, "Yanis, do you ever feel like you're being protected by a

big shot?"

Yanis looked at Zane's face and replied, "What if the big shot doesn't want to protect me?"

"Not willing? That won't do. You have to use some tricks. Men are creatures that need attention... at

night..."

Before Linda could continue rambling on, Yanis took a step towards Zane and said, "You're here."

Linda stopped mid-sentence when she saw Zane standing behind her out of nowhere. She immediately

froze up and said nervously, "... Mr. Lawrence!" Then she turned around and left in a hurry.

After Linda left, Yanis smiled at Zane and asked teasingly, "Mr. Lawrence?"

"I'm not unwilling to protect you; I'm very willing," replied Zane with a smile.

"I know Bonnie will always be protecting me from now on too," laughed Yanis.

Zane reached out his hand and rubbed Yanis' head gently while saying softly, "Good."

Then he turned around and looked towards the door where some people were still standing outside

waiting for something.

"What are those people doing outside?" asked Zane with furrowed brows.

"Bonnie is worried about her things being stolen so she hired bodyguards," answered Yanis helplessly

while glancing at the few people still lingering outside.

"What kind of things does she have that can be stolen? Clothes or fabrics?" questioned Zane

skeptically.

"Maybe they think everything is worth stealing," shrugged Yanis casually as she grabbed her bag and

phone from one side of the room before saying goodbye to Linda on their way out together with Zane

who had taken over carrying her stuff for her now that they were leaving together as well as planning

dinner later tonight after visiting Bonnie in hospital first thing this evening .

"I'll make whatever you want for dinner tonight; just tell Auntie ahead of time what it is," offered Zane

kindly as they walked out together into the hallway leading back home again where he lived with his

wife Bonnie who was currently hospitalized due an injury sustained during an attack by unknown

assailants recently causing them both great concern over safety issues these days especially since

there seemed no clear motive behind such violence against them other than perhaps envy or greed

which made them all more wary than ever before about their surroundings wherever they went

nowadays given how unpredictable life could sometimes be when least expected!

When Albi saw Yanis and Zane come out of the car, he respectfully greeted Yanis.

Yanis nods, "Albi."

Albi opened the car doors for the two people.

On the way back, Yanis asked Albi to go to the supermarket and buy some ingredients before returning

to D-king Castle.

When Yanis said he wanted to eat noodles, Zane informed their aunt that she didn't need to cook

dinner that night.

"You go take a shower first, I'll make noodles for you." Zane whispered to Yanis as they entered the

door.

Yanis responded, "Okay."

After changing his shoes, Yanis went straight upstairs.

Carrying clothes into the bathroom, Yanis accidentally stumbled upon something she used every month

while searching for something. Suddenly, she realized that her period had not come this month.

After calculating the time, it has already been a week.

Yanis couldn't help but feel a little excited, but also unsure.

She is usually very punctual, never early or late by a day, but this month she has already been delayed

by seven days.

Thinking of a possibility, Yanis didn't even have time to take a shower and quickly went downstairs.

"Mrs. Lawrence, where are you going?" The maid asked as Yanis hurriedly came down from upstairs.

Yanis didn't have time to respond, "My things are still in the car, I'll go look for them."

Zane also came out of the kitchen and asked, "What's wrong?"

"It's okay, I'll go to the car and find something. You can start cooking noodles first."

After speaking, Yanis quickly took the car keys and left.

After leaving, Yanis went straight to the nearby pharmacy and bought a test strip.

Afterwards, Yanis quickly returned home and went straight upstairs as soon as he entered the door.

Zane had intended to ask Yanis if he wanted to eat anything else, but all Yanis left him with was a back

view as he quickly disappeared down the stairs.

Zane had to cook the noodles first and made an oiled noodle dish.

After Yanis entered the bathroom, he locked the door and conducted a test.

When Yanis saw that there was only one dash above, he felt disappointed and even empty inside.

Sitting on the toilet, I looked at the test strip in my hand for a while before finally cleaning up and

throwing it away. After taking a quick shower, I went downstairs.

When Yanis went downstairs, Zane had already placed the noodles on the table. "Did you wash them

that quickly?"
