Chapter 810: My Man is Very Rich

After hearing Haider's words, Yanis replied, "I'll stay here. You and Zane can go back first."

Haider looked at the time and said, "Alright then. I'll come back to switch with you tomorrow morning."

Bonnie spoke up at the right moment and said, "You don't have to come so early. Yanis is here with us."

"It's okay. I'll bring breakfast for you guys tomorrow morning."

Bonnie knew that Haider had always wanted to take care of her on behalf of Myles. Except for not

being able to marry her, Haider had considered everything else.

Seeing how persistent Haider was, Bonnie didn't say anything more.

After Zane and Haider left together, Yanis finally sat down by Bonnie's bed.

Bonnie understood Yanis better than Zane did.

Zane could tell when something was wrong with Yanis from just one sentence she said while Bonnie

could see it at a glance.

After Yanis settled down next to Bonnie, she moved over a bit and patted the spot next to her

saying,"Lie down."

Yanis looked at her and said,"We can't both fit lying down there."

Bonnie moved over a bit more saying,"Come on!"

Yanis saw that she was insistent so she got up and lay down beside Bonnie."What's wrong?"

When Yanis lay beside her, Bonnie moved closer saying,"What did your parents say this time? Can't

you be a little tougher? They only take advantage of your soft heart in order to control your temper or

give you medicine."

Listening to what Bonnie said, Yanis chuckled softly."I'm not soft-hearted."

"Not soft-hearted? Should I get a mirror for you?"

Yanis turned towards Bonnie lying sideways facing her, saying quietly,"Do you think Antonio and I look

like siblings? Or who looks more like them between me and Antonio?"

"What?"

Bonnie didn't quite understand what Yanis meant by those words.

Yanish rephrased it saying,"Do Antonio and I look like brother-sister or do we resemble them in some

way?"

After listening carefully, Bonnie paused for a few seconds before answering,"Antonio probably does

since they favor him so much."

Hearing what Bonny answered, Yanish chuckled softly before whispering lowly ,"That's because of

blood relations which makes things very clear-cut"

"But aren't you also…"

"No."

Bonnie was taken aback and looked at Yanis. "No, I'm not their biological child," Yanis said, but then

felt like that wasn't quite right. "I have no relationship with my mother." After hearing what Yanis had to

say, Bonnie took a moment to collect her thoughts before asking, "So you and Antonio have different © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

fathers?"

Yanis nodded. "So all these years she's been kind of merciful."

"Who told you all this?" Bonnie asked as she looked at Yanis.

Yanis briefly recounted what Olivia and Martin had said earlier.

Bonnie furrowed her brow after hearing it. "Why would they say something like this now? Or is it just so

that you won't be too hard on Antonio?"

"If they wanted to do something like this, they would have done it a long time ago. They wouldn't wait

until now to tell me," Yanis replied while shaking her head.

"They said you've met your biological mother before, but over the years there were only a few people

around you so I don't think what they're saying is true," Bonnie still found it hard to believe.

Although Olivia and Martin weren't very fond of Yanis anymore, the idea that she had no relation with

them didn't make sense either since Olivia treated her well when she was younger; things just changed

over time.

Bonnie turned towards Yanis again and asked softly: "Don't you want to know who your biological

mother is?"

"For now... no," replied Yanis while shaking her head.

Bonnie held onto Yanis' hand as she spoke: "Then don't ask about it for now; when the time comes for

you to want answers then go ahead."

"I actually didn't plan on asking anymore because even if I find out who my biological mother is... what

difference will it make? She gave me up for herself back then; why bother going through the trouble of

finding someone who doesn't care about me?"

Yan's voice was soft as he spoke: "Besides in her heart I'm already gone so why should I bring shame

upon myself by looking for someone who doesn't even remember me?"

Bonnie hugged Yannis gently feeling sorry for him as she whispered softly into his ear: "Then we won't

look anymore because we're doing fine without knowing everything." Yan's responded quietly:

"Actually…I am curious about who my real mother is…but at the same time…not really interested in

finding out…just simply curious…"

Bonnie said, "What's there to be curious about? Women are either pretty or ugly, or just average-

looking. We're not flowers after all. And when it comes to money, I don't think anyone in Manches City

can beat Zane."

Yanis listened to Bonnie and thought she made some sense. "You're right. My man is very wealthy."

Bonnie chuckled at Yanis' use of the phrase 'my man'. "Wow, Yanis has really changed. She even talks

like that now."

After saying that, Bonnie lightly patted Yanis on the back and said, "We need to take care of each other

from now on - really take care of each other."

These words had been spoken by both Yanis and Bonnie before and by many others around them.

But later on they realized that what people meant by 'taking care of each other' was simply being

healthy and safe - nothing else mattered.

That night Yanis slept restlessly.

She dreamt she was chasing someone's back relentlessly with tears streaming down her face but

couldn't make him stop or even turn around for a glance at her.

Startled awake, Yanis felt wide awake as she looked over at a peacefully sleeping Bonnie beside her.

She got out of bed quietly and covered her up before leaving the room silently.

Standing alone by the window in an empty hospital corridor late at night watching scattered lights

outside flicker away in the darkness...

When she wasn't with Zane, all along she had hoped for a light that belonged solely to herself - a home

where she could belong too...

Finally marrying Zane seemed like fulfilling this wish but it still didn't feel quite right...

Now after going through so much together they finally found their true home where they were

surrounded by countless lights shining brightly from every direction...

After standing there for some time staring out into the darkness beyond those windows... Yanis turned

around slowly and headed back towards their room again.

As soon as she entered their room though, Bonnie was holding up her phone ready to make a call

asking,"Why did you wake up?"

"I needed to go pee but when I opened my eyes you weren't here which scared me." replied Yanis

looking at Bonnie's messy hair while trying not laugh,"Where could I have gone?"

Saying this, Yanish walked over placing slippers next to bed,"Let me help you get there."

"No need, I can walk myself. I just got scared when I opened my eyes." answered Bonny who refused

any help from Yannis
