Chapter 779: Speak Your Mind
Zane responded to Yanis' instructions one by one, "Yanis, how about I have Albi go with you? If there's
anything that needs to be done, you can let Albi handle it."
"Albi is already swamped with work at the company. Why should I bother him?" Yanis changed her
shoes at the entrance. "I'm just going to the store to take a look and have a chat with the clients about
the details of the jewelry. I'll be back as soon as I'm done."
Seeing Yanis' determination, Zane didn't argue and nodded. "Alright, drive safely."
Yanis murmured, "Don't tire yourself out too much. Take a rest upstairs later."
Zane insisted on seeing her off at the car, watching Yanis drive away before going back inside.
Back in the living room, Zane immediately picked up the phone from the table and dialed Albi's number.
The call connected almost instantly. "Mr. Lawrence?"
"Are you at the company?"
Albi responded promptly, "Yes, I am."
In a low voice, Zane instructed, "Check Adam's recent activities."
Upon hearing this, Albi replied, "Alright, I'll look into it right away."
...
After leaving D-king Castle, Yanis didn't go to the store right away. Instead, she first met with a client to
discuss and make some adjustments to the previously measured sizes and details. Once everything
was confirmed, Yanis headed to the store.
After nearly half a month of renovations, the overall effect was already apparent.
The next steps involved some electrical issues and minor adjustments.
"Boss Thompson, shall we take down the store sign today as well? Once your side is ready, we can Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
directly put it back up," the foreman confirmed the details with Yanis and pointed to the sign at the
entrance.
Yanis looked up and saw that the letters of "Bonnie" were already a bit worn out.
"Let's take it down together," Yanis said.
"Alright, I'll have my men remove it all shortly."
Yanis acknowledged and looked inside the store. "How many more days until everything is finished
here?"
"Two or three days, give or take. It should be ready for use in about a week."
Yanis nodded. "Okay, I'll transfer the remaining payment to you at that time."
"No rush, Boss Cooke has already mentioned it."
With the matters at hand settled, Yanis got into her car and prepared to head back.
But as she was driving, she couldn't help but think about the things Adam said earlier in the morning. It
furrowed her brows involuntarily.
At most considered illegal cohabitation?
Yanis couldn't help but be distracted by something.
It wasn't until a car behind her honked its horn that Yanis snapped out of her thoughts and drove the
car forward.
Eventually, she turned the car around at the intersection and headed towards the small villa.
When Yanis arrived at the small villa, Bonnie was about to leave. As she opened the door, the two
came face to face.
"Why did you come at this time?" Bonnie reacted first, stepping aside to let Yanis in.
Yanis stood outside the door, not moving. "Are you going out?"
"Just going for a walk, and I'll buy some things while I'm at it." Bonnie looked at Yanis and said, "Come
in first."
"Aren't you planning to go out for a walk and buy things? I'll accompany you." Yanis said softly.
Having known Yanis for so long, Bonnie naturally sensed that something was off. But she didn't ask too
much at this moment. She lifted her foot and walked out of the door, saying, "Let's go then. You can
drive me around, and I feel like I haven't been out for a long time."
Yanis nodded and walked side by side with Bonnie towards the parked car.
Yanis didn't initiate the conversation, and Bonnie didn't ask Yanis either. They chatted about other
things, one sentence at a time.
"What's the progress on Sandy's house renovation?" Bonnie suddenly asked.
"They're working on the ceiling." Yanis nodded. "It's pretty fast. Will they be able to move in by the end
of the year?"
Yanis nodded. "If nothing unexpected happens, they should be able to move in by the end of the year."
"Yanis, do you have something on your mind?" After chatting for a while without Yanis intending to
open up, Bonnie took the initiative to ask.
After hearing Bonnie's words, Yanis remained silent for a few seconds, then briefly recounted the
events of the morning to Bonnie.
After listening to Yanis, Bonnie turned her head and looked at her. "So, what do you think? Are you
letting Adam's few words affect you like this?"
Yanis shook her head. "It's not that. I just... suddenly... suddenly had some emotions. Zane hasn't
mentioned the divorce in front of me for such a long time."
"So, after hearing what Adam said, you also feel like you're just living together illegally? You don't have
any standing?" Bonnie said softly.
Yanis said softly, "Bonnie, actually, Adam is right about one thing. If something happens, how can I
prove that I am Zane's someone? I am an illegitimate one. Do you understand what I'm concerned
about?"
"I understand. So, since you're not feeling comfortable and you have thoughts about it, why not ask
Zane directly? After going through so much together, if both of you are unhappy because of this, it's not
worth it." Bonnie said in a low voice.
Yanis took a deep breath. "I... I'll talk to him when I go back."
Bonnie looked at Yanis. "Sometimes, you need to say what you want to say. If you don't say it, no one
will ever know what you're thinking or what you want."
Yanis nodded and changed the subject naturally. "What do you want to buy?"
"There's nothing special that I want to buy. Auntie buys things every day. I just want to go out for a walk
and get some fresh air." Bonnie said, then looked at Yanis. "Let's go to the mall near Stella's place."
Yanis agreed and drove the car to the mall where Stella had her store.
After parking the car, the two walked around downstairs and then went to find Stella.
When they reached Stella's store, only Aurora was inside, helping a customer find clothes.
"Sister-in-law, Miss Cooke, why are you here?" Aurora greeted them when she saw the two.
"Just came to stroll around. Why are you the only one here?" Yanis glanced around the store but didn't
see Stella.
"Stella went to the restroom."
Just as Aurora finished her sentence, Stella entered through the door. "Yanis, Bonnie."
"Alright, sister-in-law, I'll go back to work first. I'll come over later." Aurora saw Stella coming in and
turned around to get busy.
Yanis nodded and walked towards Stella with Bonnie.
"Oh, the giant panda is willing to leave her den? I thought you would only come out after the cub was
born." Stella joked with Bonnie.
"That was my plan, but the cub said he wanted to see the outside world." Bonnie sat down on a chair
while speaking, "Your store here, the boss doesn't do anything. Aurora does all the work?"
Stella shook her head and said helplessly, "It's not that I don't want to, but she won't let me. If you didn't
know, you would think she's the boss, right?"
