Chapter 775: Suicide in Front of Zane, Instant Death
After Bonnie's aunt left, she locked the door and confined herself alone in this vast villa. She was
immersed in the beautiful memories of the past.
...
On the other side, Yanis finished her work and returned to D-King Castle in the late afternoon. Since
their separation yesterday, Yanis hadn't contacted Zane, and Zane hadn't called either. With the busy
day, she hadn't thought much of it. But upon returning home and not seeing Zane, the emptiness of the
house made Yanis feel a momentary discomfort.
Even the aunt was not around. Yanis stood at the entrance for a while before finally bending down to
change her shoes.
She poured herself a glass of water, sat on the living room sofa, and then dialed Zane's number.
The call went through, but no one answered.
The phone kept ringing until it automatically hung up. Zane still didn't pick up.
After hanging up the call, Yanis waited for three to five minutes and dialed again, but the result was the
same.
Just as Yanis was about to call again, the aunt came back with groceries. "Mrs. Lawrence is back."
Yanis responded, "Auntie, did Zane come back last night?"
The aunt put the groceries aside and replied, "Mr. Lawrence didn't come back last night. He said you
both wouldn't be home for dinner, so I went back to my house."
Upon hearing the aunt's words, Yanis furrowed her brow slightly. "Alright, I understand. You can go
about your business."
The aunt acknowledged and headed to the kitchen with the groceries.
Yanis took a few sips of water and dialed Zane's number once more, but still, there was no answer.
This time, after ending the call, Yanis dialed Albi's number.
Albi's phone rang several times before being answered on the other end.
"Mrs. Lawrence," Albi's voice was as usual, giving no indication of anything.
Yanis didn't beat around the bush and directly asked, "Albi, are you with Zane?"
Upon hearing Yanis' inquiry, Albi paused for two seconds before responding, "Yes, but Mr. Lawrence
might not be able to take your call at the moment."
Upon hearing Albi's words, Yanis was taken aback. "Albi, has something happened?"
Albi hesitated for a moment, but then truthfully told Yanis, "Mrs. Lawrence, Ms. Lucia... she... she
committed suicide in front of Mr. Lawrence yesterday."
"What?" Yanis felt like she was hearing things.
Albi spoke in a low voice, "Yesterday, Mr. Lawrence came to see Ms. Lucia. Initially, they were talking
fine, but something happened. Ms. Lucia suddenly became agitated, and then... she committed suicide
in front of Mr. Lawrence. She died on the spot."
After listening to Albi's words, Yanis couldn't find her voice for a while.
Despite not having a favorable impression of Lucia and even harboring some resentment towards her,
upon hearing Albi say that Lucia had committed suicide, Yanis couldn't help but feel a strange
sensation in her heart.
Setting aside everything Lucia had done, she was still Zane's mother.
However, Yanis couldn't understand why Lucia would commit suicide in front of Zane.
Thinking about this, Yanis asked in a hoarse voice, "Why did she suddenly commit suicide?"
"I'm not really sure," Albi replied.
Yanis stood up and said, "Where are you now? I'll come over."
Albi responded, "We're still at the detention center. We have a few procedures to go through before the
body can be taken away."
Yanis nodded and said, "I'll come right now."
Before hanging up the phone, Yanis instructed Albi, "Don't tell Zane that I'm coming."
"Understood," Albi replied.
After ending the call, Yanis called out to Auntie who was busy in the kitchen.
"Mrs. Lawrence, what's wrong?" Auntie asked.
"Don't prepare dinner. I have something to do. You can tidy up and go home later," Yanis said, grabbing
her car keys and leaving the house.
On the way to the detention center, Yanis initially thought of finding someone to talk to, but hesitated
when she found Bonnie's number.
Bonnie was already in a bad mood today, so Yanis didn't want to bother her.
In the end, she decided not to reach out to anyone.
It took Yanis an hour to drive from D-king Castle to Manches City Detention Center.
Parking the car in an open space outside, Yanis got out and sent a message to Albi.
Soon, Albi came out from inside and said, "Mrs. Lawrence, this way."
Hearing Albi's voice, Yanis walked over and asked, "How is it going?"
"Mr. Lawrence is still inside. He's signing some documents right now," Albi replied.
Yanis followed Albi into the detention center and asked, "Did you tell him that I'm here?"
"He asked, and I told him," Albi said.
Yanis nodded, not saying anything further.
As Yanis and Albi entered, Zane was still inside signing documents.
Just then, the sound of chaotic footsteps came from the entrance.
Yanis looked up and glanced at the person entering through the door, furrowing her brow.
It had been a long time since they last met, and if it weren't for their proximity, Yanis might not have
recognized her. The person being escorted by two female police officers was Neve.
When Neve saw Yanis, she paused for a moment before being led inside by the police.
"It was Mr. Lawrence who asked to inform Miss Bennett since... she is Ms. Lucia's daughter, so..." Albi
explained.
"Albi, you don't need to explain. I understand, and I won't think too much about it," Yanis interrupted
before Albi could finish his sentence.
Albi swallowed the words he was about to say and stayed silent.
Not long after, Zane came out from inside. When he saw Yanis, he hesitated for a moment before
walking towards her.
"Why did you come?" Zane asked.
It had only been one night, but Yanis felt that Zane seemed different all of a sudden.
Although she couldn't quite describe it as disheveled, his eyes were slightly red. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Yanis looked at Zane this way and couldn't help but feel sorry for him. She stepped forward and gently
hugged him, saying, "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't tell you because you were going to accompany Bonnie to see Myles today, so I thought there
was no need to," Zane replied.
"But last night..." Yanis began to say, intending to ask why he didn't say anything, but she stopped
herself halfway through.
She knew that Zane probably felt there was no need to tell her about this.
"Are the formalities done?" Yanis changed the subject.
Zane nodded and said, "Once she's done viewing it, we can take her away."
Acknowledging Zane, Yanis looked at Albi and asked, "Is everything arranged?"
Albi nodded, "Mr. Lawrence, we couldn't reach anyone from the Lucia family. They went on a trip some
time ago and haven't returned. Their phone has been unreachable."
Upon hearing Albi's words, Zane frowned and said in a low voice, "Then there's no need to contact
them."
Albi nodded again and asked, "Should I have the people from that side come over now?"
Zane replied with a brief "Yes."
Albi went to make a phone call, and Yanis looked at Zane and asked, "Are you okay?"
