Chapter 773: No One Decides Who Must Forgive Whom
In the video, Ivan clearly appeared to have lost a significant amount of weight, especially with his
prominent jawbone.
"Is he torturing himself in M Country? How did he become so thin?" Bonnie couldn't help but remark.
Darin whispered, "There were various conflicts during the first two days of his arrival. I only found out
on the third day, otherwise, I wouldn't have known he came here."
Speaking of this, Darin paused and continued softly, "I don't know what happened over there. I asked
him, but he didn't give me the details."
"This is a long story. You should ask him when he wakes up," Yanis suggested.
Darin nodded, "Okay, I'll wait for him to wake up before I let him know you guys are looking for him." Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
"Alright, let him rest for now."
After ending the video call, Bonnie set the tablet aside and sighed involuntarily, "Ivan has had it tough. I
never expected Aunt Baxter to treat him like that."
Yanis listened to Bonnie's words but remained silent because she didn't know how to judge this
situation.
Madison's concern was solely about the Baxter family's reputation, which led her to be so guarded and
excessively controlling of Ivan's life.
At this point, it was clear that Madison had overthought things.
Both she and Ivan, as well as Mila, confirmed their friendship and assured her, but she didn't believe
anyone.
As long as Ivan had any contact with Mila, she would suspect there was something unclear between
them.
"Now, with this situation, I guess Ivan and Mila's relationship is pretty much over," Bonnie remarked.
Yanis nodded, "Mila is actually a nice person, but..."
"But Ivan doesn't like her. If it weren't for Aunt Baxter's interference, maybe Ivan and Mila would have
developed deeper feelings. But now, there's no hope at all."
"It's all fate."
After Auntie finished preparing dinner, she had to rush home due to some unexpected matters.
Yanis and Bonnie had dinner together, and after a simple cleanup, Yanis accompanied Bonnie for a
walk around the neighborhood.
"Linda asked me to say hello to you today," Bonnie mentioned.
"That girl has been well-behaved lately, not causing any trouble. It seems like she's growing up,"
Bonnie genuinely liked Linda.
Although she could be a bit mischievous at times, Linda was responsible, serious, and hardworking.
"Linda is a good girl."
Bonnie nodded, "If only I had a younger brother, I'd want her to be my sister-in-law."
Yanis chuckled, "Maybe in the next life."
When the topic of a younger brother came up, Bonnie suddenly thought of Antonio, "Yanis, is Antonio
still inside?"
Yanis affirmed, "They came to see me a couple of days ago, asking me to bring Antonio out, but I
refused."
"Did they cause any trouble?"
Yanis shook her head, "No. They suggested having a meal at home on my birthday, but before I could
refuse, Zane rejected the idea."
"They have the audacity to invite you back home for a meal? Is that even considered family?" Bonnie
truly detested Olivia and Martin's behavior.
They were clearly children of the Thompson family, but their treatment towards Yanis and Antonio was
worlds apart.
Moreover, Antonio had benefited a lot from Yanis, especially from Zane's side.
"That day, I suddenly felt like they had aged."
Upon hearing Yanis' words, Bonnie turned her head and looked at her, "Do you feel sorry for them?"
Yanis shook her head, "Not really, it's just a passing thought."
Bonnie reached out and hooked her arm with Yanis', "No one decides that we must forgive someone. If
we're unhappy, we can get angry and live our lives well. Sometimes even family members can stand
against you, so don't expect anything."
Yanis murmured softly, "Let's go back; it looks like it's going to rain."
Bonnie looked up and glanced, "Seems like it might rain. Who knows if it will rain tomorrow."
When Myles left, it rained for several days.
Whenever she saw this kind of weather, it inevitably reminded her of some unhappy things.
"I'll accompany you tomorrow." Yanis whispered as they lay in bed at night.
After a few seconds of silence, Bonnie finally responded to Yanis' words, "Okay."
...
The next morning, Yanis woke up earlier than Bonnie, and when she went downstairs, Auntie was
already there.
"Miss Thompson."
Yanis nodded, "I'll prepare breakfast."
"That won't do. I can handle it."
Yanis approached, "It's fine, go tidy up other things."
Seeing Yanis speak like this, Auntie went to clean up.
Yanis prepared breakfast, and just as she finished, Bonnie woke up.
The two of them had their meal and then headed out.
It would take some time to get to the cemetery from here, and with the busy morning traffic, they
arrived at the cemetery by eight o'clock.
Yanis and Bonnie went in, placing flowers in front of the tombstone. "I'll wait over there," Yanis said.
Bonnie nodded in acknowledgment.
Yanis walked to the side and stopped, looking at Bonnie standing in front of the tombstone. After a
while of concern, she turned and walked out of the cemetery.
At Myles' grave.
Bonnie placed all the things she brought on top.
Her gaze fell on the photo on the tombstone, and Bonnie couldn't help but tear up.
"You really had the audacity, Myles."
Bonnie's voice was hoarse, "To leave just like that, so carefree."
Bonnie stood in front of the tombstone, speaking about the events of the past two days.
She also talked about Ivan's situation.
Finally, Bonnie placed her hand on her belly, "When I come to visit you in the future, I won't be alone."
Before, Myles always talked about having two children, one with her last name and one with his.
Back then, Bonnie would scold him for daydreaming.
In these past few days, Bonnie had been thinking, if he were still here, would he be happy to know she
was pregnant?
She could imagine how happy he would be, wanting the whole world to know about it.
She could also imagine him, with tears in his eyes, when there was no one around.
They had been together for so many years, knowing each other almost completely.
So she could envision every expression, every reaction he would have when he found out she was
carrying his child.
But these things that should have been witnessed with her own eyes, now she had to imagine them all
by herself.
If only that day Myles hadn't come looking for her, if only she had been waiting in the hospital.
If only... if only they hadn't argued, if everything had been developing towards a better direction, would
things be a bit better now?
With blurred vision, she looked at the photo on the tombstone, realizing that everything was gone.
She no longer had Myles by her side, and her child had lost their father.
Bonnie stood there in front of the tombstone for a long time before finally turning and walking out of the
cemetery.
