Chapter 741: Does it Hurt?

The car quickly stopped at the hospital, and Zane got out of the car. After closing the door, he turned to

Albi and said, "Go check on the store."

Albi nodded and replied, "Alright."

Zane turned around and walked briskly into the hospital. After inquiring at the reception desk, he went

straight to the surgery department to find Yanis and the others.

When Zane arrived, Yanis had just finished cleaning up the broken glass and was preparing to disinfect

and dress her wounds.

"Yanis!"

Upon hearing Zane's voice, Yanis turned to look at him. Despite the sweat on her forehead from the

pain of cleaning the glass shards, she still smiled at him. "Zane, I'm fine."

Zane looked at the wounds on Yanis' arm and leg, his gaze deepening. He walked up to her and

asked, "Does it hurt?"

Yanis shook her head. "No, it'll be fine soon."

Zane didn't say anything and stood by Yanis' side, watching as the doctor treated her wounds.

There were a few deep cuts on her lower leg, probably from when the car suddenly reversed and

Stanley hurriedly pulled her back. As the doctor used forceps to remove the shards, Yanis couldn't help

but grab Zane's hand.

"Can you be more gentle?" Zane immediately held Yanis' hand in his own and turned to the doctor who

was treating her wounds, his voice restrained.

"Zane, it's okay." Yanis gently squeezed Zane's hand.

The doctor had something to say, but when he met Zane's deep gaze, the words stuck in his throat.

Instead, he whispered to Yanis, "Endure a bit, these cuts are a little deep, so it might hurt more than

before."

In fact, when Yanis came in earlier and the doctor started treating her wounds, he had already said

something similar multiple times.

Yanis nodded. "It's fine, go ahead."

The doctor nodded and continued removing the glass shards from Yanis' wounds.

To distract herself, Yanis didn't look at the doctor's actions but turned to Zane standing beside her.

"Zane, Bonnie is hurt worse than me, and my phone is still at the store. Can you help me call Myles or

Uncle Cooke?"

Zane murmured in response and kept holding Yanis' hand while using his other hand to dial Myles'

number.

However, when he called, Myles' phone was switched off.

"His phone is off," Zane said softly to Yanis.

"Is it Myles' phone?"

Zane nodded. "I'll call the Old Mr. Cooke. I have his contact information."

Yanis hesitated for a moment, then reached out and took the phone from Zane's hand. "Let me make

the call."

Yanis remembered the Old Mr. Cooke's number, so after checking Zane's phone, she dialed the

number directly.

The call connected, and the Old Mr. Cooke quickly answered, his voice coming through, "Mr.

Lawrence?"

Upon hearing the Old Mr. Cooke's voice, Yanis timely responded, "Teacher, it's me."

"Yanis?"

Yanis confirmed, then organized her words and said, "Teacher, Bonnie had an accident. Please ask

Uncle Cooke to come to the hospital."

Upon hearing Yanis' words, the Old Mr. Cooke's voice heightened, "What happened to Bonnie? Is she

injured? Is it serious?"

The car quickly arrived at the hospital, and Zane got out of the car, looking at Albi before saying, "You

go check over at the store."

Albi nodded in response, "Okay."

Zane turned and walked swiftly into the hospital.

After inquiring at the information desk, Zane went directly to the surgical department to find Yanis and

the others.

When Zane arrived, Yanis had just finished cleaning up the broken glass and was disinfecting herself in

preparation for bandaging.

"Yanis!"

Upon hearing Zane's voice, Yanis turned to look at him. Despite the sweat on her forehead from the

pain of clearing the glass fragments earlier, she smiled at him, saying, "Zane, I'm fine."

Zane looked at the wound on Yanis' arm and the one on her leg. His gaze deepened slightly as he took

a step forward to stand in front of Yanis. "Does it hurt?"

Yanis shook her head. "No, it'll be better soon."

Zane didn't say anything and stood by Yanis' side, watching the doctor treat her wounds.

There were a few deep cuts on Yanis' calf, probably from when the car suddenly reversed and Stanley,

in a moment of panic, pulled her back, causing the deep wounds. As the doctor used forceps to remove

the fragments, Yanis couldn't help but grab hold of Zane's hand.

"Can you be gentler?" Zane immediately held Yanis' hand in his own, then looked at the doctor who

was treating Yanis' wounds, his tone laced with restraint.

"Zane, it's fine," Yanis lightly squeezed Zane's hand.

The doctor had something to say, but upon meeting Zane's deep gaze, the words stuck in their throat.

Instead, they whispered to Yanis, "Bear with it, these cuts are a bit deeper and might hurt a bit more

than before."

In fact, when Yanis came in earlier, the doctor had already said something similar several times while

treating her wounds.

Yanis nodded. "It's okay, go ahead."

The doctor nodded and resumed removing the glass fragments from Yanis' wounds.

In order to distract herself, Yanis didn't look at the doctor's actions but turned to Zane, saying, "Zane,

Bonnie is more injured than me. My phone is still in the store. Can you help me call Myles or Uncle

Cooke?"

Zane acknowledged with a sound, still holding Yanis' hand with one hand, while picking up his phone to

call Myles with the other.

However, when he dialed, Myles' phone was switched off.

"His phone is off," Zane said softly to Yanis.

"Is it Myles' phone?"

Zane confirmed with a sound, "I'll call the Old Mr. Cooke. I have his contact information."

Yanis hesitated for a moment, then reached out and took the phone from Zane's hand. "Let me do it."

Yanis remembered the Old Mr. Cooke's number, so she dialed it directly after getting Zane's phone.

The call was quickly answered, and the voice of the Old Mr. Cooke came through, "Mr. Lawrence?"

Upon hearing the Old Mr. Cooke's voice, Yanis timely responded, "Teacher, it's me."

"Yanis?"

Yanis affirmed with a sound, organizing her words, "Teacher, Bonnie got hurt because of me."

"It's fine as long as everyone is safe. I'll have Freddy come to the hospital right away."

Yanis acknowledged, "Okay."

After hanging up the phone, Yanis handed the phone back to Zane, seeming to remember something.

She looked at him and asked, "Have you seen Myles recently?" All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

Zane took the phone and casually put it in his pocket. "I saw him at a party a couple of days ago, but

we didn't really talk much."

Upon hearing Zane's words, Yanis couldn't help but recall that Ivan had said the same thing last time.

"And have you seen him since then?"

Zane affirmed with a sound, "With all the recent happenings, Finnley and I have been busy with the

West City project. I haven't seen much of him, but I've seen Ivan more often."

Yanis listened to Zane's words and didn't say anything further.

It seemed that the situation between the two of them had become quite serious, as Yanis hadn't asked

a single question about Bonnie on her side.

What exactly happened between the two of them? Bonnie hadn't mentioned a word, and she continued

to stay busy with her own affairs every day, seemingly unaffected.

In reality, Yanis couldn't help but feel curious. With the wedding approaching, it suddenly seemed as if

they had become distant from each other, with no contact whatsoever.

During their conversation, the doctor had quickly removed the glass fragments from Yanis' leg.

"Miss Thompson, I'm going to clean your wounds now. Bear with it."

When Yanis had rinsed the wound on her arm earlier, she had almost bitten her lip. Now, upon hearing

the doctor's words, Yanis instinctively bit her lip.

At that moment, Zane extended his hand to Yanis' lips. "Bite me."

The doctor glanced at Zane's face upon hearing his words, then proceeded to prepare the antiseptic

solution while speaking softly to Yanis, "Go ahead and bite, the wounds on your leg are more

concentrated, so it might hurt more than the ones on your arm earlier."

Upon hearing the doctor's words, Yanis hesitated for a moment.

But by the time Yanis hesitated, the doctor had already started cleaning the wounds with the antiseptic

solution.

As the solution touched the wounds, the piercing pain caused Yanis to bite down on Zane's wrist

without thinking.

Zane's brow furrowed slightly, but he didn't make a sound, allowing Yanis to continue biting.

The doctor's movements were quick, and after finishing the cleaning, they used a medical disinfectant

wipe to gently wipe the wounds before applying medication.

"After applying the medication, don't let the wounds get wet for an hour. The bandages are only

temporary, so once they start to heal a bit, they should be removed and not kept covered."

Yanis acknowledged, "Thank you, doctor."

After taking care of Yanis' wounds and giving her some ointment, the doctor went over the precautions

again.

By the time Yanis was done, Bonnie's treatment hadn't finished yet.

Bonnie was in the room next door, and Yanis could intermittently hear her suppressed breathing and

the soothing voice of a female doctor.

Yanis looked at Zane and whispered, "Wait outside for a moment. I'll go in and keep Bonnie company."

Zane glanced at Yanis' injured leg.

"I'll be careful not to touch it," Yanis said, raising her hand to knock on the door. After hearing a

response, she pushed the door open and walked in.

As soon as Yanis entered, Zane's phone rang.

Seeing the caller ID, Zane answered the call.

Before he could speak, Myles' voice came through from the other end of the line, "How is everything?"
