Chapter 729: Ahmed is Dead, isn't he?

Yanis looked at the message sent by Zane, with a slight frown on her forehead. This was the longest

message she had ever seen from Zane.

However, considering that Zane was currently carrying the burden alone in the company, Yanis didn't

think much of it: [It's okay, you go ahead and focus on your work. Bonnie and Stella are here to help.]

After Yanis replied to Zane's message, the nurse came to Yanis for a check-up.

Stella stood up first and said, "I'll go with Yanis. You wait here."

Bonnie's relatives came to visit, feeling a little uncomfortable, so she said, "I'll wait for you in the

hospital room."

Yanis looked at Bonnie and said, "Lie down on the bed for a while."

"Don't worry about me, go get yourself checked first," Bonnie waved her hand at Yanis.

Yanis responded and went to the examination room with Stella.

After the examination last night, the results were quickly released.

"No problem, a little soreness is normal. After all, it's bound to hurt when you hit something so hard."

"Okay, thank you doctor." Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

"It is recommended to avoid vigorous exercise as much as possible. Be careful during this period and

do not sit or lie down for long periods of time. It is helpful to move around a bit to aid in recovery."

Yanis nodded and said, "Okay."

Leaving the doctor's office, Yanis looked at Stella and asked, "Stella, why did you come with Bonnie so

early?"

"I was originally planning to come see you last night, but a shipment arrived at the store and I had to

wait for it to be unloaded. By the time it was done, it was too late so I didn't come over. This morning, I

asked Bonnie to bring me along when she came."

Yanis nodded, "Did Zane leave when you guys came?"

Stella nodded and said, "It seems like Mr. Lawrence called Bonnie, and then we came over and picked

up breakfast for you on the way."

After listening to Stella's words, Yanis didn't ask anything further.

Even if Zane is hiding something from her, the only person who might know is Bonnie.

However, it is evident that Bonnie cannot tell her.

"Hey, have you heard? There was a party at the University of Armstrong yesterday, and someone

died."

"Dead?"

"Yes, I heard that he was beaten to death. The police went to the hospital and he died soon after."

Two passing nurses were whispering to each other.

Yanis stopped right away.

Stella saw Yanis standing still, thinking that her waist began to feel uncomfortable again, reach out and

gently help Yanis massage, "Yanis, let the doctor help you..."

Stella hadn't finished speaking when Yanis suddenly turned and walked towards the two nurses who

had just passed by. "Excuse me, can I ask if you were talking about the party at the University of

Armstrong in Manches City yesterday?"

The two nurses nodded in response to Yanis' question. "Yes."

Yanis couldn't help but hold her breath. "Did someone die?"

"I heard he was beaten to death," one of the nurses said. "My friend at St. Mary Hospital said he died

shortly after being brought in, with injuries all over his body and a broken leg..."

Yanis didn't hear what the two nurses said afterwards.

They were at the University of Armstrong's party yesterday.

And there was only one University of Armstrong in Manches City.

Yanis was a little pale at the thought of Zane being busy yesterday.

"Are you okay, Yanis?" Stella asked worriedly.

After a long pause, Yanis shook her head at Stella. "I'm fine, let's go back to our room."

Stella looked concerned as she watched Yanis walk away. "Yanis, do you want me to ask for some

painkillers or other medication for you? You must be feeling uncomfortable with your pain."

"It's okay," replied Yanis as he turned towards their room.

"Take it easy and be careful with your back," Stella reminded her as she followed along behind him with

larger steps than usual.

Meanwhile inside their hospital room, Bonnie was on the phone talking to Lane.

"So they still haven't released any results from forensics yet? How much longer will it take?" Bonnie

asked impatiently.

Lane answered truthfully from the other end of the line: "It should be soon since last night until now; we

should have results before 10 am this morning."

"And Ivan and Robin can't get bail yet?"

"I'm already communicating with the police on this matter," Lane whispered while continuing on: "But

they both claimed responsibility for what happened, so it might be more difficult to handle especially

since Zane is involved too; if Ahmad's family starts making noise, then things could escalate into legal

trouble."

Lane explained the seriousness of the situation to Bonnie over the phone. "But last night, Zane and I

discussed it, and if Fukuma testifies along with Miss Thompson explaining what happened at that time,

there might still be a chance."

At this point, Lane paused. "However, Zane didn't want Miss Thompson involved in this matter.

Although Ahmed didn't do anything substantial to her at that time, Mr. Lawrence still felt that such a

thing would have a negative impact on Miss Thompson. So he rejected my proposal outright."

After listening to Lane's words, Bonnie was silent for a few seconds before saying: "I understand. I'll

talk to Zane again about it on my end."

"No problem," Lane replied. "It's all part of my job. If there are any results here, I'll let you know as soon

as possible."

"Okay then," Bonnie said gratefully.

After hanging up the phone with Lane, Bonnie took a deep breath and turned around only to meet

Yanis' gaze standing outside the hospital room door.

Bonnie was startled but quickly regained her composure and asked: "Yanis? You're done so soon?

What did the doctor say?"

"Bonnie," Yanis interrupted her before she could finish speaking."Who were you talking to just now?"

Bonnie's expression changed slightly because of Yanis' question but she managed to reply: "I..."

"While I was returning from my checkup just now," Yanis continued without waiting for an answer from

Bonnie. "I overheard some nurses talking about someone dying at the University of Armstrong party

yesterday."

Yanis looked directly into Bonnie's eyes and asked more directly:"Ahmed died, right?"

At this point, Bonnie knew she couldn't hide anything anymore.

"I didn't mean to keep it from you, Yanis Zane will handle this matter. I've already sent Lane over. He

has enough ability to handle it, and besides, Ahmed is also in the wrong here."

Yanis stared blankly at Bonnie for a moment before asking: "So Ivan and Zane's behaviour counts as

self-defense, right?"

Bonnie choked up momentarily. She couldn't find any words because neither Zane nor Ivan had acted

in self-defense. Zane had been the first one who hit Ahmed, and then Ivan joined him. Robin even

kicked him several times. So no matter how they looked at it, this incident could not be considered self-

defense .

After all, it wasn't Ahmed who punched them first.
