Sandy nodded, "Yeah, he even got beaten up and knelt for two days."
Brandon listened to Sandy's words without responding.
"Brandon, how much did you pay for that house?" Sandy inquired.
"Over twenty million," Brandon replied, reaching out to take the bank card from Sandy's hand. "I'll talk
to Nelson about this matter."
Sandy agreed, "Sure, if I can help, I will."
Brandon ruffled Sandy's hair gently, "Got it, let's go inside."
The news about Jim and Nelson's situation had spread within their circle.
It happened on the eve of Sandy and Brandon's engagement ceremony.
The news caused quite a commotion.
Not everyone within their social circle was morally upright.
Consequently, the rumors circulating were quite unpleasant to hear.
Those hurtful words were like sharp knives, mercilessly slicing at Jim and Nelson.
However, the two of them remained unfazed, continuing to go about their business as usual.
This was all because of Sandy and Brandon's engagement ceremony.
Yanis, Zane, Stella, and even Bonnie had all arrived in Viteto a day ahead of the ceremony.
They were all well-informed about the situation.
Interestingly, this group of friends was supportive rather than judgmental.
As Sandy sipped her milk and scrolled through her phone, she mumbled curses under her breath.
Stella couldn't take it anymore, "Can't you keep those thoughts in your head instead of muttering?"
Sandy glanced at Stella, "I just can't stand the offensive things they're saying!"
Stella agreed, "I know these people have nothing better to do, but it's none of their business."
In today's society, people behind screens could say anything, and people of all sorts would emerge.
Stella leaned closer to Sandy, glancing at the content on her phone before taking it from her gently,
"People will talk, there's nothing we can do to stop them. They just want to be together, it's not like
they've done something unforgivable. There's no need to let it bother you."
Sandy sighed, "It's just frustrating that these people have nothing better to do. Why do they care so
much about other people's business when they can't even manage their own?"
"They've chosen a difficult path, and many unexpected things are bound to happen. It's part of the
territory," Yanis whispered.
Stella nodded, "That's right."
Sandy clicked her tongue a couple of times and then turned her gaze to Nelson, who was sitting in the
small living room. She sighed again.
Stella couldn't hold back her curiosity, "Wait, Sandy, how long have you been in Viteto, and why are
you so close with Nelson? Aren't you worried about making Brandon jealous or angry?"
Sandy waved her hand dismissively, "You wouldn't understand. Nelson and I are like good sisters now."
Stella exchanged glances with Yanis, then commented, "I suppose that makes sense."
Yanis added, "That's one way to put it."
Bonnie observed Sandy for a moment before shifting her gaze away silently, not offering an opinion.
Sandy moved to Bonnie's side, poking Mles' face as she asked, "Bonnie, what do you think?"
"About what?"
"Nelson and Jim's situation. Do you think they're a good match?"
Bonnie responded, "It's not about what I think. It's about what they think. If they're comfortable together,
then they should be allowed to live their lives. Other people's opinions are irrelevant. As long as they're
happy and at ease, other people's words are just hot air."
Sandy nodded, "That's how I feel too. It's just that these people have nothing better to do!"
Today was supposed to be a discussion about Sandy and Brandon's matters, but everyone was
focused on Nelson and Jim's situation.
During the first two days of the photoshoot, Sandy had gotten to know Jim a bit. So, it felt natural to
invite him to the engagement ceremony. However, most of the day had passed, and there was no sign
of Jim. He hadn't even called.
On the other hand, Nelson had arrived early and had been busy running errands with Kason.
Currently, he was sitting with the others, engaged in conversation and laughter, seemingly unaffected
by Jim's absence.
Finally, as Brandon handed Nelson a glass of water, he casually asked, "Has Jim contacted you?"
Nelson's grip on the glass tightened slightly, and he replied in a low voice, "No, maybe he's busy. He
mentioned having a lot on his plate lately, especially with the wedding season."
Brandon didn't delve further into the matter after Nelson's response.
"Don't overthink it," Brandon said after a moment.
Nelson nodded, "You guys talk. I'm going out for a smoke."
With those words, Nelson excused himself and walked out.
Sandy was genuinely concerned, so when Nelson stood up, she followed suit, saying, "I'm going to
check on my sister."
Leaving this statement behind, Sandy followed Nelson outside.
Nelson was well aware that someone was following him, assuming it might be Kason or Brandon.
However,
as he turned around, he realized it was Sandy.
Nelson was momentarily taken aback, then smiled at Sandy. Looking at her, he asked, "Why are you
out here?"
"I'm here with you," Sandy responded without hesitation, her candidness shining through.
"Aren't you worried about making Brandon jealous?" Nelson teased.
"Why would he be jealous of you?" Sandy retorted, taking a few steps as she continued, "Jim promised
to come today. Do you think he's the kind of person who doesn't keep his word?"
Nelson glanced at Sandy's face after hearing her words, chuckled softly, and replied, "No."
Sandy nodded, "Exactly. No need to worry. If he said he's coming, he'll come."
After a brief pause, Sandy added, "And even if it's for your sake, he'll come."
Nelson laughed at Sandy's unwavering faith, "Why do you believe in him more than I do?"
"Don't you trust him?"
Nelson fell silent for a moment before confessing, "Sometimes, I almost wish he would break his
promises. That way, I wouldn't be so deeply involved."
Sandy looked at Nelson's profile, wanting to say something but ultimately staying quiet.
In matters of the heart, no one had the right or authority to dictate or criticize.
The two of them stood outside for a while longer. Sandy checked her phone for the time, then turned to
Nelson with a smile and lightly patted his shoulder, saying in a hushed tone, "You guys talk. No one will
interrupt you out here." This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
As Sandy headed back inside, leaving the space to the two of them, Nelson watched her before finally
shifting his gaze to the man who had just entered. "Why did it take you so long to come?"
