Chapter 10 Showing Up At Her Place
Felt something?
Charleston narrowed his eyes.
Of course, he knew that he felt something, but he didn't expect her to notice it.
Playing the role of Tiana, Margaret was indeed very attractive.
Charleston narrowed his eyes again, and said in a low voice, "Good performance."
Margaret sneakily smiled and said, "I thought the same too. Thank you, Mr. Limbaugh."
Charleston took off his blazer, then stood up and said, "You suit this kind of role best."
"Thank you for your compliment." Margaret knew that Charleston was mocking her, but she was not
angry at all.
She wasn't in a place to be angry with him. She didn't want to risk displeasing this man again in case
he decided to get her replaced.
She was not here to challenge capitalism.
She didn't dare to.
Because she needed a big sum of money.
Watching her playing along to his mockery, Charleston couldn't help but feel a little upset about it. He
sighed as he walked past Margaret. With a deep, low voice, he said to her, "See you later."
He then exited the theatre.
Margaret was dumbfounded. When she finally came to her senses, she saw Charleston already
walking away.
What did he mean when he said that he would see her later? She pondered this.
The assistant director came over and interrupted Margaret's train of thoughts. "Margaret, do you know
him personally?" he asked curiously.
"Ah? This is the first time I'm meeting Mr. Limbaugh. I don't know why he was suddenly in the mood to
act with me." Margaret played dumb.
The assistant director was still a little confused. Charleston was the kind of person who could shake
Haverland entirely just by yawning. How could he suddenly be in the mood to play-act with a
newcomer?
Perhaps this was already the best explanation he could've gotten.
Since he couldn't figure it out, he decided to just let it go. The asssitant director patted Margaret's
shoulder and said, "Margaret, you have earned Mr. Limbaugh's approval. Keep up the good work." This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
"Thank you, director," she replied.
Other actresses who were here for the audition sat far away from the scene. Thus, they couldn't get a
clear glimpse of what was going on. However, upon knowing that Tiana's role had been secured by
Margaret, they were very much envious of her.
After Margaret got home, she took a shower and began to go through the script.
The evening had come before she realized.
Her stomach growled in hunger, so she decided to cook up something for herself. Just as she headed
to the kitchen, someone knocked on the door.
This place was new, so who could that be?
Confused, Margaret opened the door. As soon as she caught sight of the tall figure standing outside,
she immediately pushed the door close.
However, the other person was much faster than she was.
His hand reached in and grabbed Margaret's arm. Before she could do anything, he had already
managed to squeeze himself in.
"What are you doing here?" the corner of Margaret's mouth twitched.
This man actually found her home.
"I'm here for the photo."
"I really don't have your photo. What can I do to make you believe me?" Margaret said exasperatingly.
"Do I need to die to prove my innocence?"
"I might consider that." Charleston looked serious.
Margaret silently watched the man swagger into her room and sat on her couch.
"Gee, why don't you make yourself at home, Mr. Limbaugh?" Margaret satirized him on purpose, voice
dripping with sarcasm.
"This place is too small, it is only as big as my bathroom at home," Charleston stated truthfully.
Margaret gnashed her teeth in anger as her gaze fell on Charleston. She couldn't help but sigh
while holding her forehead. "Do you see how poor I am? And it's not like your photo will help feed
me. So, if I have it, I will definitely return it to you."
"The CCTV at the airport showed that you were the only one who laid a hand on my wallet. Maybe you
were too mesmerized by my good looks and thought that money isn't worth the value of the photo, so
you deliberately hid it!" Charleston said while staring into Margaret with his bleak, cold eyes.
