I had just arrived from work for lunch when I caught up with Maggie with something attached to the wall. Maggie told me she will make food for lunch so I went home. She lives with me after we come back from our vacation in Baguio. I already told her about this house. She said it was okay and I hadn’t given her this house before because she might burn this also.

“Hi.” I greeted her and approached to kiss her. I looked at the painting Hailey gave us. It is placed in the vacant spot in the middle of two tiger paintings.

‘That’s place belongs to you.’

“Beautiful right?” she asks.

“You’re more beautiful.”

“I know it’s been a long time, by the way, the ones we’re going to wear to the wedding have arrived. The case isn’t here because Margot stole my gown. Dane took yours.”

“Huh, how was it taken?”

“I said I’ll check if it’s fit for me. But they said it’s superstitious that the bride and groom shouldn’t measure anything to wear to the wedding. And they know I’m crazy and when it’s in my hand it’s impossible for me not to measure it.” Then she hugged me. “Is that superstition still valid while we’ve had sex?” I smiled and hugged her. We will get married three days from now and I’m really excited.

“Let them. They know more about the old superstition.”

“Yes, they have the same old faces and brains. Let’s go eat and you’ll be back in the office.”

I am holding her hands as we go down. When we arrived she let me sat me down while she prepared the food. It’s been a few months since she moved here and she always does it to me. But I feel always new. Seeing her preparing our meals makes me happy. I thought it would never happen again. Just to think that I almost lost her is that I feel so much guilt.

She stops using drugs because Dylan doesn’t want to give her anymore. She also stopped drinking alcohol. She focused on taking care of me and the housework as we did when we first got together. I hired an assistant to accompany her and help with the heavy tasks but when it comes to cooking, ironing my clothes is what she does.

“Hmph, smell good,”

“Shrimp porridge.” She set the dish down in front of me. “I haven’t made any dessert because you have a long time now on break so I am your desert.”

“You said that and I will accept it.”

“When it comes to sex, you’re really fast. Sometimes I don’t believe them that you rarely had sex with a woman back then.”

We eat together. I am feeling happy thinking is someone is taking care of me and not just who but the woman I love. The woman I want to be with forever. After we eat, we let the maid take care in the kitchen. As Maggie promised, she is my desert. We just take a rest and then we make love.

“What time are you coming back to the office?” We’re both naked while she’s playing my chest.

“Later, I don’t have a meeting today so we can still follow round two.”

“No problem, but nothing tonight.”
