Alpha Connor stared at his slave with a jaw drop. He couldn’t understand why she is concerned about him.

He bent down so he could be of the same height with her. That act surprised him, he couldn’t believe he just did that.

Daciana smiled gracefully at him, relieved that he didn’t make a big deal out of her request.

She thought he would scold her or try to scalp her for asking such a ridiculous request but he didn’t do any of that.

He allowed her to touch him willingly as he gaze stayed on her every move.

While his gaze was focused on her, a loud gasp escaped her lips. A gasp of horror which made Alpha Connor narrow his eyes at her.

“Was it an arrow? The cut is too deep and it was poisoned” she said taking a quick glance at him then his shoulder.

Alpha Connor stared blankly at her, she knows the arrow was poisoned, how?

“I know it was poisoned, how did you know?” He asked, his eyes never leaving hers.

Daciana’s mind was blank for a few seconds before she pulled herself together.

Her heart was beating fast, somehow, she doesn’t want Alpha Connor to reject her help. Daciana know that she is just an ordinary Omega and his most hated slave but that does count to her right now.

The pain on his shoulder might get really worse and out of control. She remembered those days, a lot of wolves died from being shot by a poisoned weapon.

It broke her heart, she wasn’t able to help then because her master will only let them watch while he administer the herbs to them.

Seeing Alpha Connor’s expression change into pain made her more concerned, she doesn’t know why but she can’t help it either.

She can’t bring herself to hate the male in front of her no matter how much she tried to.

“Why do you care? Who are you to care about me female?” Alpha Connor snarled.

Daciana took a few steps back away from him, she bowed her head and apologized.

“I am sorry if I crossed the line Master, I am in no position to care about you” she said, nibbling on her lower lip to stop them from shaking in apprehensiveness.

With her head bowed, her face glued to the floor. This time around, Alpha Connor step closer to her.

“I am not giving you this chance because I need your help me or because I have accepted you, it’s because I am in pain and it’s not healing as quickly as I thought it should” he deadpanned.

Daciana’s head shot up, she was surprised and happy at the same time. Whatever excuse Alpha Connor gives, it doesn’t matter to her.

This simply means that he trust her at least. Even if the trust isn’t much, she is grateful for that.

“Thank you Master”

“Out” he commanded, Daciana’s eyes widened. She stared down at herself and then at Alpha Connor.

She is only wrapped in a blanket, is he going to let her leave in his blanket?

“Master-”

“Lynne will bring a new dress to your room, trash the other uniform she gave you” he cuts in with a deep scowl on his face.

“Yes Master”

“Now out, you can throw that away when you are done using it” he said gesturing to the blanket on her body.

Daciana sighed, does he really hate her that much to the extent of not wanting his own blanket because she used it?

Once again, she bowed and stepped out of his room hastily walking to the slave quarters ignoring different pairs of eyes swimming in her direction.

With how they are all staring at her, it made her look like a villain in a story when she clearly haven’t done anything wrong.

Daciana let out a deep breath of relief once she got to her door. She was welcomed by Kaira’s sleeping body spread widely on her bed.

She must have slept off while waiting for her return yesterday. Daciana can’t tell how she slept yesterday from afternoon till this morning.

Was it the Alpha king? But why will he make her sleep? He had told her numerous times about how she is just a slave and he doesn’t care if she dies, so why?

As she was lost in her own thoughts, Daciana was engulfed in a tight hug which almost choked her to death.

“I can’t breath Kaira, let go” she said with a small smile on her face.

“I am sorry my Queen, I just got too excited by seeing you. I thought you were going to die” Kaira explained in a cheerful and worried voice which made Daciana to chuckle.

“Why will you think so? The Alpha king wouldn’t kill me, at least not yet” she said with a tight lipped smile. Her death is not guaranteed.

“I am relieved now that you are here my Queen, how do you feel?” Kaira asked.

“I feel oddly better Kaira” she replied, it’s true Daciana woke up more healthier than she was yesterday.

She is grateful to whatever happened over the night which made her stronger.

“I will just freshen up, Lynne might come in with my uniform please take them for me. I also want you to accompany me to the woods”

Alpha Connor sat on the chair with some papers in his hand. He is working on how to merge both the Dean’s pack and Ocean pack together since there is quite a distance between them.

There is no other pack in the middle but only a big Forest is between them.

Maybe turning the forest into a place where people can live will be the best thing to do, that way, the two packs will be together successfully.

“Place a new bedsheet and blanket on my bed” he commanded the maids that were cleaning his room.

“Yes Alpha king”

Alpha Connor stood up taking a walk outside of his room to give them sometime to clean up, Utah haven’t arrived since morning. Isn’t he supposed to be here already?

He sighed clenching his jaw and his eyes momentarily closed from the pain. At that point, Alpha Connor wish his female come back with a herb that will completely heal him.

He can’t imagine bearing this pain for a long time as Utah had said some days back.

Suddenly, he could smell them, Alpha Connor could hear the smell of humans but it didn’t let it bother him since some wolves has humans as their mates.

As he was taking a walk around the tower, he came across Dolphus.

“Good morning Alpha king” Dolphus greeted. Alpha Connor acknowledged him with a nod.

“There is a problem Alpha king” Dolphus said, trying to hide the panic in his voice.

“What is it?” Alpha Connor asked. Dolphus took a deep breath.

“The wolf hunters are here again” he informed.

Alpha Connor’s jaw tightened, his hand balled into a fist and his eyes morphed into dark red.

His thoughts went to the small female that left his chambers a while ago, she might have gone to the woods for the herbs.

The wood is the first place the wolf hunters always attack. Alpha Connor’s breath hitched.

Without saying anything, he half shift into his wolf form and took off. He needs to get to the wood on time.

Just like that, he suddenly developed a strong zeal to protect his female from being harmed by them.
