Chapter 0088
"You bitch!" He roared and was soon chasing after her.
Shit, Amara cursed in her mind, realizing that she had left her phone in the car and her neighborhood...well, there wasn't really much to say about a fancy neighborhood, isolated from the main street. Damn, if she knew something like this would have happened, she would have taken her chance with that shabby cabin house Lorenzo showed her as a joke.
At least that place was within society.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of an electronic gate creaking open. She snapped her head in its direction, feeling a beacon of hope as she saw a silhouette causal walking out of the gate.
I'm saved! Her eyes grew wide with relief and she opened her mouth to call out to her savior, but before she had utter a single word, a hand clasped around her mouth and one around her waist and she was pulled, fight and struggling with whatever little strength she had, into a corner.
"You sly bitch," Her attacker hissed in her ear, pressing her back firm against his chest to keep her in place. "You think you're just going to walk scoot free after all the evil you've done? Not on my watch." Whether it was a stupid move, or one not well planned, the attacker had foolishly taken his hand off Amara's waist to grab the damp napkin and she took advantage of it.
Jabbing him straight in the rib and going the extra mile to step on his toe, she was once again released and this time, the adrenaline overshadowed whatever form of dizziness the drug had cast over her. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
She bolted straight for the corner without hesitation and she wouldn't have stopped, if not for the chest that ran face first into. She stumbled, but was caught and pulled closer and in a matter of seconds, she was looking at the face of the stranger who had taken her bungee jumping.
His blue eyes her disheveled appearance and creased in worry.
However, before either party could say a thing, the heavy footsteps of Amara's attacker had drawn near.
He was running, but slowed to a jog, sighing in relief when he saw Amara in the arms of a stranger. "Buddy, thanks for holding her. She's my. girlfriend, we only just has a fight and she threatening to report me to the police for harassment. You know how women are."
The stranger remained silent and Amara begged with whatever will she had left in her, that he didn't believe that bastard. Relief like none other washed over her when he gently guided her to stand behind him.
The attacker sighed. "Don't tell me
you're one of those bastards that needlessly get involved in other people's business. Come on, hand her over." He made a grabby motion with his hand and stepped forward.
Amara unconsciously gripped the shirt of her potential savior.
"I don't know what you've done, but I'll give you one chance. Walk away."
The attacker, now knowing he wasn't going to get what he wanted, lowered his head and spat a string of curses and then in a flash, charged in Amara's direction.
Her bungee partner acted faster, punching him square in the jaw and knocking him to the floor. He punched him yet again when the attacker tried to get up and gave a solid kick to his head as final measure.
Less than two minutes after the
battle had begun, it ended and
Amara breathed a sigh of relief. She
wanted to thank her knight in shining armor, but with her adrenaline fading and the effect of the drunk suddenly kicking in, Amara felt her group do a twirl and her vision blurred.
She stumbled and tried to catch her balance, but the universe had other plans for her and in seconds, she felt her entire body shutting down.
As her body fell to the floor, the only thing she was grateful for throughout this accursed day, was that rather than landing cold and hard on the floor, she was caught by her knight in shining armor.
