His Destructive, Toxic Love

Chapter 372

The moment she declined to pay up, his face turned beet red with rage.

He glared at Eliza, bellowing, "You're driving a luxury car worth millions, and you can't even spare a few grand? Are you here to bully us regular folks? Do rich people just not care about others' lives? If that's how it is, I might as well keel over right in front of your car!" Eliza felt her patience snap under his ridiculous demands.

She pulled out her phone, about to call the police.

With a swift motion, the man snatched the phone out of her hand, "I'm telling you, if you don't pay today, you're not going anywhere. Hurry up and cough up the cash."

"Are you serious? A few grand? Why don't you just rob me?" Eliza's shock quickly morphed into anger, "This is straight-up extortion!"Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

She reached for her phone, but the man shoved her away mercilessly.

She stumbled, losing her balance and hitting her arm against a nearby signpost. The sharp edge sliced her skin, and blood slowly began to ooze out.

Seeing her bleeding, the man showed no remorse. Instead, he urged her to hand over the money, revealing his greedy nature.

Just then, her phone rang.

The man glanced at the screen - it was Casper.

He raised an eyebrow, taunting, "Casper? Your boyfriend?"

"He owns the car. Give me the phone, and I'll have him deal with this," Eliza said, reaching out again.

The man hesitated but eventually handed the phone back, warning her, "No cops."

Phone connected.

Eliza: "Hello?"

"Still at the hospital?" Casper's voice came through.

Eliza looked at the towering, menacing figure before her, a wry smile tugging at her lips.

She quickly explained the situation.

"Are you okay?" Casper's voice was tinged with concern.

"I'm fine."

"Good," he sighed, relief evident in his voice, "Stay put. I'll be there soon."

Less than half an hour later, Casper arrived at the scene.

His eyes were like a hawk's, zeroing in on Eliza amidst the chaos. His first concern was her well-being.

But then he saw the injury on her arm.

"I thought you said you weren't hurt? What happened?" His voice was low and husky, filled with an indescribable pain. Eliza: "Scraped it on a signpost."

Casper's brow furrowed. He gently

rubbed the top of Eliza's head,

comforting her like a wounded

kitten, "Go sit in the car. I'll handle the rest."

"Okay."

As he turned back, the warmth in his demeanor vanished, replaced by a frosty coldness.

His expression hardened, as if chiseled by winter's harsh winds, sending shivers down one's spine.

The man was deeply shaken by Casper's presence, involuntarily stepping back as if an invisible force was pushing him.

His steps were unsure, his heart pounding with fear.

"You... you're her guy? She

rear-ended my car. I'm just asking

for compensation, that's not unreasonable, right?" the man's voice trembled, filled with uncertainty and fear.

He tried to mask his guilt with words, but his voice grew weaker and weaker.

Casper chuckled coldly, "Not unreasonable, but you've hurt my girl. Asking for compensation in return isn't unreasonable either, right?"
