Chapter 91
Chapter 91
If Lester could think of it, George naturally thought of it too.
The two exchanged a glance, both understanding the expressions in each other’s eyes. The two DNA
tests conducted between Ashley and the
Pliskin family might have some doubts. Further investigation was needed.
After spending more than half an hour in the ward, George and Lester left.
Ashley sat back on the chair in front of the hospital bed and checked the wounds on Valentin’s body.
The places scratched by the chandelier fragments had begun to heal.
Joseph also sat in front of the bed. “Is it time to change the dressing?”
Ashley glanced at the time. “There’s still an hour left. No rush for now.”
“Alright.” Joseph looked at Valentin on the bed and then at Ashley, seeming like he wanted to say
something but hesitated.
“What’s wrong?” Ashley looked at him.
Joseph looked hesitant, ultimately shaking his head.
Intrigued, Ashley was about to inquire further when her phone receive message from Miranda.
She sent it in a three-person WhatsApp group comprising herself, Ashl and Bryce.
Miranda’s text read: [Ashley, are you there? I want to ask you something. Has Ryan approached you
recently?]
Seeing the message, Ashley frowned slightly and understood immediately.
Ashley replied: [He came to see you?]
Miranda seemed troubled. [Yes, he came to me yesterday, admitting his past mistakes, asking for your
forgiveness, hoping I could let go of the grudges and restore the relationship to what it used to be.]
Ashley pondered momentarily and typed. [What are your thoughts?]
Miranda replied quickly: [I prefer to keep my distance from him at the
09:16
moment. As long as you haven’t forgiven him, neither will I.]
Ashley thought for a moment. Miranda and Ryan once did have a beautiful relationship.
Ashley typed. [Miranda, it mainly depends on your feelings. Don’t worry too much about me.]
Miranda replied: [Absolutely not. Friends are the most important!]
[Ashley, if I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t forgive a brother who caused me so much pain in the past.
Can he really erase his past mistakes with a simple apology? That will be too easy!]
With a friend like Miranda, Ashley truly felt the unparalleled strength of friendship.
Miranda sent a picture of a stray cat she encountered today. [I met this cutie on the street today,
sharing it with you.]
Ashley enlarged the photo. It was a chubby orange cat. [It’s adorable.]
Suddenly, Bryce chimed in: [Can you discuss your matters privately?]
Miranda instantly replied: [No way! If you don’t want to see it, leave the group then]. She sent the
message along with a crossed-arms emoji.
Bryce texted. [Aren’t you afraid I’ll be aware of your personal affairs?]
Miranda replied: [There is no need to be afraid. Speaking of which, Bryce, how are things going with
Brittany?] She sent the message and an emoji with a face full of gossip.
Ashley had almost forgotten about Brittany, the beautiful girl who was interested in Bryce at that charity
dinner and wanted to pursue him.
Bryce seemed to want to avoid the topic. [I have something to take care of. I’ll go ahead.]
Ashley and Miranda then chatted for a while. Just as she was about to put down her phone, she
received a call from Jaden.
Sitting next to her, Joseph, upon seeing Jaden’s name, disdainfully clicked his tongue.
Ashley glanced at him, finding it strange that these two always clashed, constantly bickering.
09:16
Joseph signaled. “Put it on speaker, Ashley.” Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
Ashley answered the call and put it on speaker.
Jaden’s voice came with a hint of a smile. “Darling…”
Before he could say any more endearing words, Joseph ruthlessly interrupted, “She is not your
darling!”
He knew that Jaden would be talking rubbish.
So, he had Ashley put it on speaker in advance, and sure enough, Jaden started calling Ashley
“Darling”!
Hearing Joseph’s voice, Jaden paused for a moment, then, with a smirk, he said, “My dear, you’re here
too.”
Joseph’s face darkened, and retorted, “I’m not your freaking dear!”
Feeling a headache coming on, Ashley interrupted their bickering and asked Jaden, “Why are you
calling?”
Without any courtesy, Jaden ordered, “I’m at the airport now. I just got off the plane and didn’t bring an
assistant. Come and pick me up!”
Ashley was astonished. “You came to Zyrrinthia? As the boss of Glory Youveile, why don’t you stay at
headquarters but keep running around?”
“Ashley, do you have the nerve to say that to me!” Jaden immediately became irritable. “Is Glory
Youveile mine alone? What about you? You just leave everything to me! I’ve lost weight from doing it all
by myself!”
“Calm down!” Ashley hastily interrupted. “What’s the matter with your visit to Zyrrinthia this time?”
“Anyway, come pick me up at the airport, and I’ll bring you a piece of important news!”
“What news?” Joseph interjected, bargaining, “You tell us the news first, and then we’ll go to the airport
to pick you up.”
“My dear, you’re taking advantage of me,” Jaden chuckled.
“If you don’t say it, no one will pick you up!” Joseph threatened.
“Alright.” Jaden sighed, then said mysteriously, “I got information that Jessica is secretly selling shares
of the Ramos Group behind Evan’s back.”
Ashley’s eyes narrowed when she heard this, and she repeated Jaden’s

words in her mind.
91. You Deserve to Die
“I have your bodyguard to look after me. I think that’s enough. You. should go home,” Kara nodded
stiffly.
Frank’s eyebrows arched high. “Are you afraid I’ll cross the line again?”
Kara shook her head. “It’s not like that. I know you can keep your promise.”
“Then? Doesn’t it mean you don’t have to forbid me from entering your apartment? I promised Louis
and Emily to protect you.”
Kara took a deep breath. Her expression was flat. “I still have to clean, cook, and shower. You should
use that time to take care your business.”
“I don’t mind.” Frank shrugged.
“I’m the one who objects,” Kara interrupted with a slightly frowned. face.
Seeing the tiredness in her eye bags, Frank finally realized. He had
forced his will.
“Please understand, Frank Harper. Right now, I’m nothing to you. Every time you give me attention, I
feel guilty and burdened. So, please ….”
Kara raised her finger and closed her eyes for a moment.
“Until you can get rid of all those obstacles, don’t get too close to me. Think of me as your employee.
Just by your being here, I’m already very worried.”
Frank swallowed bitterly. He just understood that Kara was willing to be accompanied by him to save
energy. She must be tired of facing.
“Okay,” Frank sighed before nodding slightly. “Sorry if I crossed the line.”
A second later, he turned to the guards. “Escort Kara to her apartment.
“No. They can just watch from the car, as usual. I don’t like bringing people into my house.”
Again, Frank was silent. Kara’s soft voice made his heart tremble.
When Kara had entered the building, he glanced at the guards. “Escort her secretly!”
“Okay, Sir.”
While the group of men in black suits caught up with Kara, Frank leaned against the limousine and
looked up at the second story window. There, Yemon was swaying on a hanger.
“What should I do, Yemon? Kara is still reluctant to be around me. If it continues like this, I might doubt
her feelings for me.”
While contemplating, Frank noticed the plush’s movements were getting slower. When Yemon turned
still again, Frank furrowed his eyebrows deeply. He quickly shifted his gaze towards the clothesline and
plants on the balcony in the next apartment.
“There’s no wind?” His eyes widened.
Suddenly, his smart watch flashed. Without taking his eyes off Kara’s apartment window, he answered
the call. “Yes?”
“Sir, we managed to find Rolland’s car. I think he left it on purpose. because he already got another car.
Frank’s heart jumped. A bad feeling haunted his mind. “Where is he?”
His eyes began to sweep the parking lot. The parked cars were

“We have checked reports of car thefts in the last few days. It turns out one of them came from a
resident of Cherish Apartment.”
Frank gasped. His body felt like he had been shocked by thousands of volts of electricity. The
apartment stood right in front of him!
Without wasting any more time, Frank rushed after Kara. His heart was beating wildly.
“Relax, Frank. Kara is with a bodyguard. She’ll be fine.”
However, just as he was about to climb the stairs, he ran into Philip and the others.
“What are you doing here?” Frank shouted, deafeningly.
The guards were flabbergasted. Their bodies stiffened.
“Sorry, Sir. Miss Martin knew we were following her. She told us to wait downstairs.”
Frank’s breathing became louder. Clenching his jaw, he broke through the line of guards and shot
towards the second floor. Unfortunately, when he was almost there, a thud resounded.
“Kara?”
Frank gasped, his body frozen for a moment. After one blink, he increased his speed.
Without further ado, Frank burst through the door. The old board
immediately swung and hit the wall. The sound made everyone who heard it turn around and stop their
action.
“Frank….”
Kara was lying on the floor, among the broken pieces of things. scattered around. Her face was pale
and drenched in sweat. Her
Above her, a thin, cruel-looking man was glaring. Even though his
attention was diverted, his hand kept pressing the tip of the knife to Kara’s body.
“Shit!” he cursed furiously.
Frank’s kick landed on his shoulder.
“Argh…!”
The bearded man was pushed to the side. He tripped over Kara’s foot then fell to the floor.
However, his grip was quite strong. The knife was still in his hand. Before the sharp object could hurt
Kara, Frank launched an attack
again.
A sudden crunching sound vibrated the air. A long groan followed accompanied by the clink of knives.
At that moment, the guards rushed in. They immediately handled the criminal. Meanwhile, Frank
approached Kara. She was frozen with her mouth open.
“Kara, are you okay?”
The half-lying woman blinked. Her elbows that supported most of her weight moved slightly. Blinking to
gather her senses, she got up from
the shards.
“Are you injured?” Frank looked over Kara’s body thoroughly. Luckily, she was wearing a blazer thick
enough to protect her body.
“Let me go!” Rolland groaned while grimacing. Even though the pain.
to tear someone apart.
“You shouldn’t have stopped me! That woman deserves to die! She is the real criminal. She has ruined
my life and my family!”
Kara sighed faintly. Her eyes started to get wet. She remembered
how their team used to be. Rolland had been her best co-worker back then.
“Mr. Rolland, why are you doing this to me? You know that I was also framed. We both suffered.”
“That’s your fault! You should suffer alone, instead of dragging me down with you!”
“What could I do? Nobody believed what I say.” Kara’s voice grew thinner.
Not accepting Kara being cursed at like that, Frank gritted his teeth.” Throw the trash to where he
belongs!”
the ocean.
Seeing the worry on that almost bloodless face, Frank took a deep breath. “You still have time to think
about other people? Look at your
condition, Kara.”
“Please don’t kill him, Frank.” Kara shook his arm. “Don’t get your
hands dirty because of me.”
Hearing that sigh, Frank’s jaw stopped throbbing. He took a deep breath then lifted Kara towards the
sofa which was full of knife
scraps.
“I’m not like my grandfather, Kara. That useless man will be handed over to the police. He deserves
punishment for his actions.”
“Are you serious?”
Looking deeply at his secretary, Frank nodded.
Kara’s shoulders stopped tensing. Her breathing turned normal. After regaining the composure, she
began to observe her super messy house.
Not a single item was intact. Rolland seemed to want to show his life. through the condition of the
room; it was damaged and could no longer be repaired.
