Chapter 40 Life lessons
“Ian? what’s this?” Blair asked as she wakes up with him caressing her hair. She had gotten used to opening her eyes and finds him looking at her, and she was liking his little quirks which she thought was kind of weird at first.
“I got it while I was at my lunch break yesterday.”
Ian had placed a small navy velvet box on her palm while she was still sleeping, and he had patiently waited for her to wake up. He always enjoys watching her sleeping, her beautiful face had been carved to his deepest memory yet he couldn’t seem to get enough of her.
She slowly sits up and smiles nervously at him, while Ian masked his nervousness by sipping his cup of coffee.
He had been very anxious when he bought her the ring. He was afraid that she would not like his choice and she would lie to him just because she has always been such a nice person.
But he was still not ready when her face lit up with her sweet smile as she opens the little box and took the simple yet expensive-looking diamond ring from the small box.
“Oh Ian, it’s beautiful…” her eyes were glassy in an instant. She had never been wooed by anyone before, obviously not by her abusive ex-husband.
And with Ian she was falling deeper, it felt like an abyss where she was loving him and couldn’t stop falling for him.
He took the ring and put it on her finger, she sheds her tears and he kissed it all away.
“It looks good on you baby, I was planning on giving it to you when I got a day off from work…”
She hugged him tightly and he smiled widely, feeling extremely happy with her in his arms.
“We should celebrate, let’s go to my parents and give them the big news. I think they’re still home if we leave before nine, but I think it’s better if we call them first. I’m sure mom…”
He was talking while giving her a cup of coffee that he had made earlier, but she was silent and just look at him after drinking her coffee.
“What?” he asked as she was setting her cup aside. All content is © N0velDrama.Org.
“I think we need to celebrate properly, but don’t worry… I’ll make it quick.” She smiled wickedly at him as she was getting braver and started to get on top of him.
She could already feel herself was getting wet from the anticipation, and he groaned when he feels her wetness as she straddles him and moves her hips waking his erection.
“Mm… I’m liking this side of you.” Ian moved back to rest his back to the headboard and she finally took his length and let it slide into her tight walls.
They both finally left for his parents an hour later. Ian was locking the house when his phone buzzed with an incoming call from his mom.
“Ian honey, it’s your dad. I already called our doctor. Oh, God! I hope he’s going to just fine…”
“What? mom slow down, I’m actually going to yours right now,”
They were both in the car when Ian told Blair about his dad. She holds his hand sympathizing with what was happening to his dad.
Twenty minutes later they were greeted by Rose who looked like she could use a very strong drink at that exact moment.
“Rose, thank you. Where are they?”
He went straight to their bedroom as Rose pointed out hurrying back to the kitchen, where she was doing her other chores. Blair followed him awkwardly not knowing should she invade their privacy or not.
“Mom, what happened?” Ian asked as her mother was pacing by the bed while his dad was being examined by their family doctor.
“Heart attack, I don’t know… oh, Ian!” he had never seen his mom in such distraught. He understands that they love each other and could imagine how he would feel if he was in her shoes.
With that thought he looked at Blair who was standing behind him, he wrapped his arms to her shoulder knowing that she must’ve felt out of place.
“Blair, oh my God… thank you for coming.” His mom hugged her and she hugged her back, slowly rubbing her back with her healthy arm.
“I’m sorry if I interrupted you, maybe I should wait downstairs…”
She was about to say more when his father coughs and his doctor let out a small chuckle as both men conversed quietly.
“Blair…” his father called out to her. His mom smiled widely and quickly dragged Blair with her to his bedside. Ian stayed back and waited to talk outside with the doctor and try to find out what happened.
“Rodney, how are you feeling?” she looked at him worriedly. Carol was to her side and kissed his forehead while caressing his hand.
“I’m better, it’s been embarrassing but the doctor said I’ll be better.” He chuckled and kissed his wife chastely, Blair smiled at the older couple. She had met them on several occasions before, and she could see where Ian had gotten his loving side from.
“But I’m seeing some bling, come here Blair let me congratulate you and tell us all about it.”
Carol quickly backed away from him and looked at Blair’s ring finger, then she shrieked and quickly hugged her before Blair even reached his side.
“Thank you, Carol, he just gave me this morning. That was why we were on our way here when you called.” Blair was teary with her happy emotion, she had never felt so much love from one family before.
“Okay kids, where is it? the doctor said you’re banned from using it again.” Ian walked into the room and looked at his parents accusingly.
His mother blushed when she heard Ian had talked to the doctor, while Blair was still looking confused but waited for his explanation. And that was when Rodney reach his bedside drawer and give him the little blue pills. Viagra, she knows about it since she saw it on Benjamin’s pants pocket when he was coming home from work.
“Son, we were bored. I’m sorry to have made you worried, but I’ve talked to the doctor and he said he’s giving me a better one.” He smiled wickedly at his mom, making her blush deeper knowing they have Blair in the room.
“What? there’s no need to be shy, Carol. She’s family now. Blair’s officially our daughter. Come here Ian, let me congratulate you.”
Ian put the Viagra in his pocket and hugged his parents. Then his mom told them that she was going downstairs to prepare a celebratory breakfast and taking Blair with her.
Ian stayed behind talking to his dad, she heard Rodney talking about the importance of keeping the sparks alive at all times. And that made Blair shake her head but keep her straight face and follow Carol to the kitchen.
