Her Poison His cure: Behind The Mask

Chapter 9 Finding Information About The Monster(2)

The two maids moved to my face and began applying make-up and beauty marks on my faces. By the time they were done, another set of maids entered with my dress. They moved back while two other maids helped me into my dress.

From my undergarments to my inner drawers, the main drawer and underskirt before topping it with my corset and petticoat.

They all moved back and bowed their heads before leaving. The courtlady moved closer to me, accessing me in my beautiful hanbok dress.

“Your beauty is so ravishing that it’s blinding my eyes ‘ ‘Na ji hye compliment. She is the only one left in the room with me apart from the courtlady.

“Your dangui is blinding my eyes, with other garments,” she added.

I smiled appreciatively at her.

“The maid will bring in your breakfast”

The courtlady broader, bowed and turned to leave. She stopped when she noticed Na jihye wasn’t following her.

“What are you waiting for?” She growls slowly at Na ji hye.

At the realization, Na ji hye bowed and turned to leave when my voice stopped her step.

“Let her be, there’s something I must asked her”

The courtlady looked back at me giving me the look *what did you want to asked her* before averting her gaze to Na ji hye. She shrugged, bowed and left the room.

“Come closer” I gestured beside me.

She moved closer to me and sloped down in front of me.

“There’s something I need to confirm from you and I won’t want you to lie to me”

“Please ask me. I won’t dare lie to Your highness”

“About that monster you were talking about the other day. Is it really true?. Is there truly a monster in the prison?” I asked curiously.

Na ji hye looked hesitant but cleared her voice when she met my pleading gaze.

“It was my brother who told me, but I am not sure since I didn’t see it with my eyes. But my brother will never lie about something as risky as that, so I guessed it’s the truth” she replied.

“Your brother is part of palace guards right?”

“Yes Your highness”

“I guessed it was the truth then.”

I inhaled deeply and puffed out air.

“How did you think I could get in?” I asked slowly like a child knowing that what he/she is trying to do is dangerous.

“Your highness, that’s dangerous. Besides, if the rumors happened to be true, then it is not advisable for you to go in there” Na ji hye said worriedly.

“Don’t worry about me, just told me how to get in”

“I can’t do that Your highness” she bows

“Hurry and tell me what I need to know now. It’s a royal order.” I threatened.

I don’t want to use my authority on her but I know she won’t answer my question if I don’t threaten her.

Na ji hye took a deep breath nervously.

“Your highness cannot go in without being interrogated by the guards. It is entirely impossible for you to go in because of tight security. I heard his Majesty order the royal guards to join the prison guards this morning. So the prison is heavily guard” Na ji hye explained, hoping I will be convinced.

“Besides, his Majesty has banned everybody from entering the palace prison,” She added.

“But there must be a way out somehow,” I sighed.

“Forgive me for crossing my boundaries. But what did Your highness hope to achieve from doing these. You are just putting yourself in trouble.” She told me and that hit me really hard but I just couldn’t stop my mind from going there.

“I am just curious. I really want to see the monster in there” I replied, looking gloomy.

“Your highness. an adage said that curiosity killed the cat. You shouldn’t be curious about such a thing”

“If I was not curious all my life, how do you think I would have been able to save you the other day? Didn’t you think what was I doing at the laundry for me to witness your fight with the other maid’s. I was curious about the laundry room and came there that day to satisfy my curiosity. That’s how I was able to witness everything that happened” I scoffed.

I had only gone to the laundry to see how the maids operate and didn’t expect to witness her fight with the other maid’s but as I have, I just couldn’t walk away.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

Na ji hye was rendered speechless as she couldn’t argue with me. Well she knows arguing with me might turn into an offense for her, she nodded but I could see she just agreed to my words out of fear of offending me.

“I will try and get some information from my brother,”

“I doubt it, if the crown prince will really release any information to you” Na ji hye replied calmly.

I chuckled.

“I guess you don’t know. My brother is ready to do anything for me. I get whatever I want” I said proudly and smiled.

Na ji hye nodded reluctantly.
