HER BABY’S DADDY

Twenty Four

“Thank you so much Mr Benson” Stravis appreciated, her eyes glinting cheerfully.

“Thank you too, we look forward to working with you Miss Stravis” Mr Benson gave a warm smile.

“We will come to a conclusion about the deal once it’s approved, for now you can reach us on our mail” he added whilst handing over a business card to Stravis.

Delightfully they shook hands and walked away, a victorious smile played on the lips of Stravis as she raised her head up and congratulated herself for a job well done.

Securing a meeting and a partnership deal with Mr Benson was a huge step for the Walter corporation, this particular partnership deal will elevate the company and bring great value.

In Stravis moment of self praises her eye stumbles upon a very familiar person, she strained her eyes to see this familiar figure clearly as the young man walked towards her. Recognition dawned on his facials as he got closer.

“Isn’t this that poor man that came asking for his son years ago?” Stravis said to herself.

Jax walked past Stravis which made her turn to tap him on the shoulder, she scanned him from head to toe as he turned to face her.

After thoroughly examining Jax, she bursted into an uncontrollable laughter.

“I remember you, are you not the poor man that came to my house in rags some years ago? Who borrowed you this fancy outfit? Who invited you here, I’m sure you must have sneaked in”

“You are lucky I’m not so wicked, I would have called the guards to come pickup the trash, I wonder why a filthy smelling person like you would even walk amongst high class citizens like us” She mocked Jax distastefully.

Without uttering a word Jax boiled, his frown was visible.

“Oh c’mon don’t give me that look, you of all people know you don’t belong here, you belong in the streets. Incase no one else told you that the rags you wore looked better on you, I’d tell you” Stravis added.

She picked up her perfume and sprayed it all over herself.

Stravis eyes spotted a stain on his white tuxedo which made her chuckle.

“Even when you try so hard to look clean and rich you end up displaying your dirtiness, you should dry clean the owner’s cloth because I know you don’t have what it takes to buy him a new one” Stravis spat more mockery on Jax.

Jax boiled with rage, clenching his fists together he made a promise in his heart to crush the Walters no matter what. It’s been 2 years since the Walters had set eyes on Jax and all Stravis could do after sighting him in a wealthy environment was to insult him and call him trash.

The statement played over and over again in Jax’s memory as he walked out of the hall angrily.

Stravis shrugged off the irritation that hurled up inside her and began to seek for Janis, she was eager to inform her about the deal she had just initiated with Mr Benson.

She wouldn’t hesitate to show Janis how better of a CEO she is. Her victory smile came back as she walked out of the hall and into the car.

Janis was seated at the passenger seat looking all sober and drained, lost and swallowed up by her thoughts.

“I’ve been looking for you, while you’ve been here sobbing like a little child I’ve been out there securing business deals for this company”

“All you do is sit and mop like a baby, I am honestly a better CEO than you, I just successfully made a deal with Mr Benson, he agreed to a partnership with us. If not for my hard work, our company wouldn’t stand so tall” Stravis praised herself.

Not minding Stravis, Janis peered her head out of the window. Her mind was far from business deals and CEO competition.

All she could think about was her Jerome, Her world would crumble to the ground if Jax manages to take Jerome from her.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

He had so much wealth and power now, if he wanted to win a case with his wealth he would, there was no influence or power she had over him.

JANIS

How could Jax say all this? If only he knew how much I searched for him, I combed the whole city in search of this man just for him to meet his son and now that I’ve found him he is all rich and powerful.

He doesn’t care about me or how hurt I would be if he takes my son away from me. I carried this child in my womb for nine months, I breastfeed him and looked after him for two good years.

If I have to give up my wealth to keep Jerome in my arms I would, nothing matters to me right now.

Even if the world goes in favor of Jax to get his son, I won’t loose hope. I won’t give Jerome up so easily.

“I am a different man now. And believe me Miss Janis Walter, I have more wealth than you can ever imagine. I can fucking buy your company’s shares and bring you to bankruptcy. You are nothing to me. If you choose to act stubborn, I promise to fight you with everything I have until I get back my son. Mark my words” Jax’s words continued to play on repeat in my memory.

I began to shiver at the thoughts of how he would crumble on me and Walters company at large all because of his son.

Leo storms was someone we looked up to, he was way more influential and power. He had the capacity to bring us down if he wanted to and now his son; Jax, is in charge of all his affairs. He hold the equal power, wealth and rights as Mr Leo storms.

This is a big challenge for me, what if he really bring bankruptcy to us? What if we loose all our wealth because of him.

I don’t want to bow to him but all heavens seem to be at his feet.

This wasn’t how I pictured our reunion to be, I didn’t imagine that Jax would say all this. He seemed so rude and determinant.

I never flaunted my wealth in his face, I was ready to take care of him, I never looked down on him it was Stravis who insulted him and looked down on him. She has successfully added made Jax hate me and hate the whole thing of our family.

“Aren’t you even listening to me? Do you really have to be so nonchalant sometimes? I’m telling you about a big move I just made to elevate our company and you just sat there ignoring everything. Do you ever take anything serious? All you do is sit home and sip your tea while I sweat my ass off at work” Stravis yelled, pulling me out of her reverie.

“Not another word!” I yelled back whilst giving her deadly glares, anger flowed through my veins and my fists clenched at her impertinent remarks.

“Why?!” Stravis retorted arrogantly.

“I’m not in the mood for all your stupid rants just leave me alone, Driver let’s go” I ordered whilst calming my boiling rage. I eyed Stravis and looked elsewhere.

“Whatever” Stravis hissed.

The driver reignited the cars engine, and in no time the car was on busy highway. Lights from different buildings shun all over the place, turning darkness into light.

“And yeah, guess who I met inside, I met that lowlife man that came asking for his son some years ago. Do you remember? I went go get things from you when you were at the hospital”

“Yes I remember him” I replied coldly.

How could I not remember the father of my child, the wealthy cold billionaire that has sworn to take his child no matter what, even if it means bringing down the Walters.

“He borrowed someone’s tuxedo and sneaked his way in, can you just imagine? I can’t even phantom the heights poor people go just to look rich and classy, I don’t know how much he borrowed that suit but I know he must have spent his life savings to borrow it” Janis said irritably.

“He is the owner of the suit and he didn’t sneak into the event, he is a shareholder there” I raised an eyebrow and stared at Stravis.

“You must have borrowed him that suit to the event, now I know why you never wanted us to meet him. How would you stoop so low? why did sleep with a lowlife? Someone with no class. And come to think of it he actually looks alot like Jerome” Stravis scolded. Her words angered me even more.

“Stravis I didn’t borrow the suit to him, I said he fucking owns it. Are you daft? He is the father of the child that’s why Jerome looks like him. Don’t tell me you spoke to him” I raised an eyebrow at Stravis. I’m sure she must have insulted him again at the event.

“Yes I spoke to him, why would a poor man walk around rich people, I told him that he doesn’t deserve to breath the same air we do and walk amongst wealthy people like us, he also had the suit stained. Wait don’t tell me all you’ve said is true?” Stravis questioned.

I placed my hand over my face, it was so frustrating having Stravis as a sister. While I was here wallowing in my agony she was out there pouring salt on my injury.

Right now I would do anything to make sure Jax grants us favor by leaving Jerome. I’m trying my best to make sure Jax doesn’t ruin my life by taking custody of my son and all Stravis could do was make matters worse.

Now Jax hates us even more because of Stravis, if he had any form of sympathy initially, he would bury it to the ground, all thanks to Stravis and her loud mouth.

She just doesn’t know when to shut up.

“Do you ever learn to keep your mouth shut? Why did you have to walk up to him and insult him? He is the father of my child and he is now a billionaire. He can literally sue you for the insults”

“Don’t even act surprised, you didn’t think about all this when you saw him all fancied up and rich at the event, you just insulted him. He is after his son and now he is planning to take full custody of his son, he even threatened to bring us down if we stood in way. He hates us because of you, because of your arrogance and your pride and now that you sighted him at the event you made it ten times worse” I said to a stupefied Stravis.

Everything is falling apart and I have no power to stop it.
