Rita’s POV

“How was work today Rita?” Zane asked.

“It was fine, you know stressful too; the usual routine” I responded.

“About your boss?” He inquired.

“Hmmmn” I hesisted to tell him. “No you tell me Zane, how was work today? It has always been me telling you about mine” I changed the topic.

“Oh! You thought I was joking when I said there’s no girl throwing herself at me? And work is boring, hectic.. You know the vibe Rita” He said.

“Okay.. OKAY” I replied bluntly.

“Uhm, so is there anything you want me to know? Zane asked.

I breathed in heavily, although Zane and I are far away yet he suspects when something is wrong, he could tell when I have something to say, he knows when I am in a good mood or bad one.

“It’s about my boss, you might get jealous if I say this” I resumed reluctantly.

“I promise I won’t get jealous or did something really bad happened between you and your boss?”

“Come on, you don’t always have to think of something disgusting. I will… never cheat on you” I said.

“I know, I trust you so much because you always confide in me even when we are far apart.”

I exhaled; “My boss and I are kinda intimate now, obviously he loves me so much, but I don’t. I just need to pretend, play along to be on his good side.. in order to keep my only Job” I confessed steadily.

“Okay!” Was all he said.

“You’re mad?”

“Not really; infact not at all. Just a tiny little bit jealous but since it’s pretence, then it’s nothing” He said; “What did your friends say about it?”

“Actually, Evelyn brought up the idea that I should play along”

“What about Adam?”

“He.. he didn’t totally agree. Wait a minute! Did he already tell you?”

“Nah!”

“Hmmn, you suddenly ask after my work and my boss. So I suspected he already told you what’s going on since you two are acquaintances”

“Nope Rita. You’ve always told me what’s going on at your working place, I’m only following up. Plus, I prefer hearing stuffs like this from you rather than from anyone else”

“Hmmm”

“Believe me Rita, I trust you so much, never will I ask your friends to monitor you closely on my behalf ” He said.

“I’m actually surprised that you are not mad, you don’t sound jealous either about my boss”

He scoffed; “After I promised not to jealous, it’s hard composing myself”

I gave a short laugh; “I’m also glad I opened up to you and you’re cool with it”

“Sure, so you could keep your job Rita. Can we also exort money from him?” He asked.

“What? No, no no Zane. We are not doing that” I shunned and he laughed.

“It’s only to keep my Job and enjoy his sweet gracious attitude towards me”

“Do not let him fall in love with you!” Zane suddenly warned.

“I told you earlier, he is already in love with me”

“Oh! Maybe I meant, do not fall in love with him”

“Ugh! I can’t. Remember how hard it was for me to fall in love with you?” I giggled.

“I’m dead serious though. Do not think I’m absent, then fall in love with him” Zane repeated, his voice sounded calm but serious.

“No way Zane! C’mon” I said. “Moreso, just so you know; I can’t fall in love with someone physically but online-ically” I told him.

“Oh! So there’s someone online you are interested in besides me?”

“Jeez Zane! That’s not what I meant! Gosh! You are so jealous!”

“I’m kidding. Well, Jealousy means obsession. I’m obsessed with you Rita, it means love” He said.

I blushed.

Finn’s POV

I disconnected the phone call and walked into my house; only to meet my brother Alex, sitting at the dinning room, with his laptop, engrossed with whatsoever that he was doing.

“For how long, do you plan to stay at my place?” I questioned.

“Welcome” Alex said. “I don’t know, big brother Finn”

“You are intruding into my privacy” I grumbled, moving closer to him; shook hands with him as I took the next seat. I was so tired and thirsty, so I drank from his wine glass.

“What are you up to again Alex?” I interrogated, glaring at his laptop’s screen. Kikachat was written boldly at the heading.

“What’s up?” I asked again.

“So I figured out the founder of Kikachat” Alex announced.

“Woah!! Really?” I exclaimed.

“He’s an obsessed tech guy like me”

“You know, Kikachat became the next topmost downloaded social media application after mine, ‘Love Station’ crashed” He began to explain.

“I thought you were planning to bring Love station back”

“Yeah.. I…” He paused then sighed in distress: ” Kikachat is the most used at the moment. Finn, you’re right, people would never download Love Station on their mobiles again after what happened”

“Good, you are thinking the same way” Finn remarked, pouring more wine into the glass. “So why did you track down the founder of Kikachat?”

“To be his friend of course, we can work together and be of each other’s assistance. He is a better tech internet guy than I am. I want him to put me through ” Alexander answered innocently.

“Good for you” I scoffed.

“I guess” He yawned, closing his laptop. “By the way, I am surprised you’re concerned about my internet exploration, you have never showed any interest”

“Oh dear Alex, you’d better appreciate my little attention while I’m still at it”

“Yen! Yen! Yen! Thank you. You’re underestimating my job, instead of you to be my biggest fan” Alex mumbled.

“Alexander the internet explorer!” Finn teased as he drank more chilled wine.

Just then, Madison the maid came to serve my meal.

“Thank you Madison” I drew out the cutleries to started devouring.

“Sorry to cut into your conversation. I also used the Love station application ” Madison told us.

“You did?” Alexander exclaimed”

“Yup” She nodded.

“I thought you are a queer Madison” I said.

“Well, I have a lover” She snapped.

“Is it a guy or a girl? You are a queer Madison!”

“I had a lover on Love station” Madison repeated.

“Oh Madison, I’m so glad you’re a fan and I’m.. i am sorry you also lost your lover. Apparently, everyone who joined the app did” Alexander apologized.

“Well, I didn’t lose mine. Somehow, we connected on Kikachat. It’s fate I guess” She smiled innocently while Alex smirked at the mention of Kikachat.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

“I can see that you so much envy the founder of Kikachat. So I agree, you should work together with him; this will help people who lost their lovers reconnect again” I urged him and he nodded slowly.

“I’m sure the founder will love to work with you being the son and brother of a billionaire” Atlas, Alexander put on a smile.
