Healing The Ruthless Alpha

Sihana’s POV

The tests confirmed what the high priestess already told me. I was pregnant. With child. Had a bun in the oven. The first thing I did when I saw the tests show I was indeed pregnant was to wrap them up in black plastic, after destroying the packs they came in, and then I buried them deep inside the trash can.

Next, I curled up in bed, put the covers around me, and then I cried. I bawled my eyes out like a baby, hiccuping under the duvet as I wept. Once, I heard someone knock on the door so I stopped and pretended to be asleep until the person left, and then I continued to cry. I cried until my weak body had no more tears to produce.

“A baby.” I placed a hand on my stomach. “What am I going to do?” I whispered into the room then I sighed, getting out of bed.

It didn’t matter what Cahir said, this child was mine. If he didn’t want kids, there was nothing I could do. If he asked me to take the child and leave, I would. It may hurt, but I would. This baby was my responsibility and no matter what, I had to take care of them. ver had a mother so I didn’t know the first thing about babies, but I had nine months to learn.

“First, we have to find our appetite.” I couldn’t starve my child.

After washing my face, I stepped out of my room and met Laura about to knock.

“L–Luna – Her eyes widened when she saw my haggard state.

“I just woke up and I’m starving.” The words rushed from my mouth before she could question me. “Is there anything to eat?” I looked away from her, unwilling to show her my red–rimmed eyes, eyes so red it was impossible for anyone to mistake them for sleepy eyes.

“Ah yes, but but are you okay?” She stuttered, her eyes roaming my face and body.

“Yes, I’m just hungry.” I lied. The lies I told these days were getting too much. I wasn’t hungry but it was past the time for lunch so I would force myself to eat even a small bite for the baby.

“Alright. You’ve been quite picky with food so we made varieties of meals for your lunch today.” Laura gave me a cautious smile as if she was walking on eggshells around me. “You can come to the kitchen to choose what you want.” I followed Laura to the kitchen and the moment I entered, I knew it was a bad idea.

Felicity was having a chat with the chef when I walked in. She perked up at the sight of me and said something but I didn’t hear it. The various scents in the kitchen wafted into my nostrils and then my stomach rumbled.

Don’t throw up now.‘ I told myself.

I ran as fast as my weak legs could carry me to one bathroom on the ground floor. I didn’t quite make it to the toilet before I started throwing up.

Ack.

me up as I staggered, standing beside me as I rinsed my mouth and washed my face. At the door stood Irene and Laura looking anxious.

“I’ll take her to her room. Can you make her mint tea?” Felicity said to Irene who nodded vigorously before rushing away.

1-1 will contact the Alpha.” Laura said, biting her lips with drawn eyebrows.

“There’s no need.” I managed a weak smile, “Don’t worry him. I’m fine.”

“You keep saying that – Laura stopped herself as she exclaimed then nodded, clearing her throat. “Ah. yes. I will supervise your lunch in the kitchen.” She shared a look with Felicity who nodded.

I allowed Felicity to lead me up to my room where I go into bed and curled up, hugging myself. Did my mother feel this awful while pregnant with me? I sobered up when I realized I could never ask her that.

“I don’t think so,” I answered myself. My mother wasn’t kissed by the goddess and as at when she was pregnant with me. I also wasn’t kissed so she wouldn’t have experienced all this.

Although the necklace on my neck helped with the sudden manifestation of strange powers, it didn’t help with the morning sickness. It didn’t even completely block out the strange manifestation of power. If I felt this awful even with the high priestess‘ holy power infused necklace. How would I feel without it?

“Are you pregnant?” My train of thoughts stopped as did my heart. Panic blurred my vision for a second.

-W–what?” I stuttered at Felicity’s accusation. She was sitting at my desk, looking at me with concern shining in her eyes. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

“It’s just a suspicion. I’ve read as much as I could regarding this but there isn’t any answer no matter where I check but I vaguely remember I read somewhere that people with the goddess‘ kiss have peculiar pregnancies. Plus, you seem to be having morning sickness. It’s just a speculation,” she explained but it didn’t stop my heart from racing.

I went through all that struggle to hide my tracks so no one would find out I was pregnant only for Felicity to find out from putting two and two together, something even the doctors couldn’t do.

There was silence in the room for a minute before she broke it again.

“Congratulations, I guess,” she muttered.

“I – I am not “I couldn’t finish my lie as Cahir walked into the room without knocking. One look at Felicity had her jumping to a stand. She said her greetings before scampering off.

“You’re back.” I swallowed as I looked at Cahir. He looked almost as haggard as I did.

Being in his presence while hiding his child made me feel like a felon. I wanted nothing more than to open my mouth and spill the beans but apprehension held back my words.

“I’m back.” He took a seat on the bed beside me. “How are you?” He asked, finger brushing my hair out of my face.

“I–I’m fine.” His touch made me shiver. He hummed, an unknown look in his eyes. “Did you finish your work?” I asked to fill the growing awkward silence.

“Never mind that, now.” He withdrew his hand and then stood. I missed his touch almost instantly. “Do

you remember when I said you couldn’t love me?” The sudden question had me frowning.

“Yeah?” Up until I fell sick, he’d reminded me not to fall in love with him every day.

“And do you remember when you said I would fall first? He pursed his lips. I nodded along to his questions. I’d said it as a joke which he rebuked almost instantly. Of course, I didn’t forget.

“Yeah. Why He cut me off.

“Do you love me?” He quizzed. My mouth opened, and then it closed, and then it opened again.

“IL” My mouth had become filthy from the lies I’d told since yesterday but for some reason, I couldn’t add one more to my pile of lies, “Why are you asking me this?” I asked with my heart in my throat.

“It’s because –” He said slowly, “I want to know if you were right.
