Healing The 83
Sihana’s POV

“I The what?” I blinked at the girl woman, rubbing her hand on my stomach with a satisfied grin. “What What baby?” I pushed her hand off my stomach but she put it back.
“Why, the one in the oven.” She
grinned at me. Her grin dimmed when she saw I didn’t return it. “Oh, did. not know?” She looked sombre for a second before her face lit up brighter than ten Christmas trees. “Then I will be the first to congratulate you!” She pulled me into a hug. “Congratulations, Luna Sihana!”
“I am not pregnant.” I pushed her away from me, placing a hand on my stomach.
Yes, I don’t want children. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Those words danced through my head with Cahir’s cold voice.
“Ah, has Asena not picked up the new presence?” The high priestess took my hands in hers and then grinned. “You have such pure energy, Luna!” She hugged me again, pulling back before I could push her off. “It’s no wonder the goddess favours you.” She continued to smile at me.
If the atmosphere in the temple wasn’t calming. I would be suspicious of this girl who claimed to be the high priestess,
“Favours me?” I scoffed. “What goddess favours me? The one that put me in Silver Moon pack and watched as everyone abused me while I prayed and cried to her to be saved?”
“Yup.” The priestess nodded. “That same one.” I blinked stupidly at the girl. “Oh don’t look at me like that! You are an omega that bears her kiss! Do you know how hard men have to work to be recognized by the goddess? You didn’t do much yet she recognized you and gave you healing abilities. The priestess pouted at me as if I was caught slandering her best friend,
“The healing abilities that have disappeared?” I asked with a sneer. Since all this started, I hadn’t had a clear head until now. The atmosphere of the temple really suited me.
“It’s because of this one.” She poked my stomach. “Unfortunately, you’re going to have a difficult pregnancy, fren. This one carries too much power and it clashes with yours. She pressed a hand against my stomach and I felt a jolt. “Ah, that’s a little mischief maker.” She grinned.
“Hold on.” I pushed her hand off my stomach. “You’re telling me I’m pregnant?” She nodded like an eager puppy. That was too much information to be exposed to at such a time but I took a deep breath and continued. “Not only am I pregnant, but my baby also carries the kiss of the goddess?” She nodded again. “That’s impossible.” Her grin widened.
People were not born with the goddess‘ kiss. It was like an award given to the most outstanding of alphas. Also, there was no record of a goddess‘ kiss being genetic so how could my child also carry the kiss?
“Oh, I can see the gears in your brain turning” She flicked my forehead.
It was offensive for someone that looked so much younger than me to treat me like a child but I reminded myself that this woman was the high priestess. High priestesses were the closest to the goddess of us all and they carried her blessing. They were highly revered and only two high priestesses existed in our
world.

can be kissed, right?” She asked eagerly, almost bouncing in her seat. I nodded. “It’s simple, it’s the goddess‘ gift to Cahir Armani!” She clapped.

gift?” I asked dubiously. Not for the first time, I wondered if we drove three hours out here to meet a
con artist.
“Yes. This is our secret but you should know that the goddess has favourites.” She leaned in to whisper into ear. “Like me.” She giggled, pointing at her chest. “Jam the goddess‘ favourite, that’s why I haven’t aged a day since I entered the temple. Can you believe I’m eighty–eight?” She looked like she was sixteen.
my
Although I had heard that some high priestesses aged slower than the rest of us, ver paid much attention to the temple or priestesses so I didn’t know one could be so young.
“I am going to live a very long life because the goddess favours me. That way, I can serve her longer. You, on the other hand, are favoured by the goddess because you lived such a sad life but continued to do good so she took interest in you.” This girl and the goddess, I don’t know who was crazier.
“I know it’s crazy,” the priestess said. “I’ve said that to her a lot of times but she’s the goddess. She does what she wants and no one can question her. She favours you and she favours Cahir Armani who was destined for tragedy but his willpower –” She fanned herself. “It’s interesting that a mere mortal can seize their fate like that. He has done too many evil to bear the pure kiss of the goddess so she’s given his present to his child instead.” She propped her chin on her elbow then went sombre.
“Actually,” she sighed. “That’s not entirely true.” She pursed her lips and her exuberance dimmed. “Even as a high priestess, I cannot explain the way the goddess moves but I have served her for over seventy years so I can sometimes see a pattern in her movements.” All traces of humour fled from her face.
“I was conversing with her recently when she mentioned you. You had just stepped foot in Alpha Blood. then. The goddess is interested in you and what you can become.” She sighed again. “Being a goddess is lonely so sometimes sometimes, she gets bored and plays with her creations.”
It wasn’t something I was disinclined to believe. All my life, I felt like a higher power was playing a cruel joke on me so I didn’t even bat a lash when the priestess said those words about the goddess.
“When you were born, well- they say you are cursed but all the events surrounding your birth – they were just a result of the creato
playing games to see how her creation would react. You were just unfortunate. She didn’t tell me this but I would assume after that she watched you to see how you would react being the carrier of
a bad omen and you must have impressed her enough for you to be blessed with her kiss.”

“I am not surprised,” I said with a dry laugh.
Yes, divinity had been playing a cruel joke and I ended up being the brunt of it. My consolation? A kiss that gave me the ability to heal myself. Perhaps she chose that gift after watching me get bruised and battered so many times while she laughed.
“Being a deity gets lonely.” The priestess looked at me with sad eyes that urged me to understand. “There are only two of us alive that she can visit to keep herself entertained. You must understand that she has to find other ways to keep herself entertained.”
I was to understand that my life was a joke to someone I prayed to and cried to in my time of need? Why should I understand someone who had used me for her own sick pleasure? After Silver Moon, I was done understanding.
swier of Cahir?” I asked the priestess who shrugged.

Was his life and suffering also a way to amuse the goddess? Did she take everything from him and watch him suffer, calling out her name as she giggled? Resentment coiled in my chest.
“I haven’t been very interested in your mate. You, I paid attention to because you look like an old friend but for him, well, it is possible that it is the same thing that happened.” She paused then
sighed. “It may be hard to believe but the goddess feels remorse and that’s why she handpicked gifts for you and Cahir. She even let Asena and Perseus meet after centuries of being apart.” The priestess looked at me with hopeful eyes but the resentment in my chest grew.
“Ah, I should keep my big mouth shur!” To my surprise the priestess slapped herself. “I expected your would understand because of your heart and your pure energy but I can feel it getting tainted.” She slapped her forehead. “Forget I said any of that!”
How could I forget my life was a joke to the goddess?.
We’d often been told that to our deity, we were nothing but ants but it was just a figure of speech. It had never been so real until now.
“Did my pregnancy take away my powers?” I placed a hand on my flat stomach.
Pregnant. For a man who didn’t want a child. Fantastic. Was this another drama the goddess wanted to watch unfold?
“Ah. The priestess took off one of the many chains around her neck. “Your powers are still there, just interfered with.” She closed my fist around her necklace. “This contains holy power. It’s not much but it should last for a month at least.”
“I see.” The necklace in my hand pulsed with life. “So all the new abilities I’m manifesting –
“There was one other woman, a long time ago, who birthed a gifted child. Long, long ago, before things. started to get properly documented. She too experienced such difficulties, that’s why I’m giving you holy power. Your baby’s mana will interfere with yours for a while and it may get dangerous. With some holy power, your mana should be a bit stabilized. When your mana is fully stable, your gift will be restored”
“I see.
My questions had been answered. The necklace in my palm pulsed with calming energy, the same one that surrounded the temple. I’d found answers and a solution and picked up a bit of bitterness.
“The goddess is just a lonely woman, Sia. Don’t hate her too much.” The priestess gave me a calm smile as I exited the inner chambers of the temple.
