Healing The Ruthless Alpha

Sihana’s POV

I swallowed the scream but it didn’t stop my hands from trembling. What the fuck just happened?

“Are we manifesting another ability?‘ My wolf asked with a yawn. She had been asleep but my panic forced

her awake.

“W – What?‘ I stuttered, looking at the washcloth in my hand. I wasn’t dreaming. It was hanging out of reach a second ago but now I had it in my hand as if it had always been there. “How can I manifest another ability?” It was unheard of for someone’s gift to change

“It’s also unheard of for an omega to have the goddess kiss, Asena reminded me.

“No, it’s not unheard of, I corrected my wolf. “It’s just super rare. And it was. There was a record of an omega in the past who had the goddess kiss. He had the gift of invisibility which wasn’t very useful to his pack so he wasn’t considered noteworthy.

“Maybe our ability is to change abilities, Asena said with a snort. She didn’t understand the gravity of this situation, or maybe she did. Maybe she wanted to make light of the situation to calm me.

Asena – I called my wolf but a knock on the bathroom door startled me.

“Y–Yes?” I answered. It took so little for me to be pulled into my own world that I forgot Cahir was standing outside the door waiting for an excuse to come in.

“Can I come in?” He was surprisingly polite and I knew from his tone that he was being considerate of me,

His wolf must be urging him to enter the bathroom, to check on me and make sure I was fine but he was holding back. It made me melt a little but I shook my head. I’d had enough of Cahir and his smothering wolf for the past three days.

“Uh, no. I’m having a nice time now.” Did he hear the lie in my tone? Could he sense my panic? I hoped that the strong scent of the bath bomb would addle his senses, even if just a bit. “I’ll soon be out!” I yelled as I submerged myself in the warm water.

“Asena, aren’t you scared? Something may be wrong with us, I spoke to my wolf as I washed my skin of all the grime from the hospital. The smell of hospital disinfectant clung to me and it was the reason I asked for a strong–smelling bath. I couldn’t take a proper bath in the three days I spent in the hospital.

‘I feel really weak but I don’t think there’s anything wrong, Asena said with a sigh as she got comfortable. ‘I keep dreaming of this white wolf and it’s starting to annoy me! Annoyance rang in her tone.

“Is this a sign of something?‘ I asked Asena and felt her shrug.

‘Who knows? Either way, we will be at the temple soon. I have faith in the high priestess. She should know what’s happening to our body. I hummed in agreement.

I finished my bath and rinsed off in the shower with relative calmness despite me freaking out inside. Schooling my expression, I dried my skin and walked out of the bathroom with a towel

wrapped around

1. me.

“You took your time,” Cahir murmured with hazy eyes that made my skin heat.

“Thank you for respecting my privacy,” I said, walking over to him and planting a sloppy kiss on his cheek.

On’t tempt me, Sihana,” he growled, moving away frin me as if my lips were coated in fire. “You’re sick. You should be resting, not seducing me.” Only Cabir would think of something as innocent as a kiss on the check as temptation.

Actually, he may not be the only one.

I’d been accused many times of seducing one or more girl’s boyfriends and publicly shamed. It didn’t even matter that I didn’t know any of the boys I’d been accused of seducing. Their girlfriends always came up to me and every time. I had to listen to degrading words, people calling me a slut for trying to seduce Tom, Dick or Harry, people I didn’t even know in the first place! Silver Moon had been my personal hell and I was more than grateful I escaped in one piece.

“What are you thinking about?” Cahir smoothed out my creased brows.

“Just some unpleasant things from Silver Moon,” I blurted without first weighing my words. The silence that greeted my offhanded announcement had me looking up at my mate.

The look in his eyes had my heart racing. Darn it, I forgot he had a vendetta against my last pack.

“Cahir-”

“You should let me destroy that pack,” he growled, his eyes turning a deep red.

“Perseus, don’t be rash,” I said to the wolf pushing to the forefront.

“It’s not rash. They deserve to be wiped out for what they did to you.” The wolf gathered me into his arms. and buried his face into my neck. A cold nose brushed my mating mark, making me jerk upright. I was still weak, still tired, but a certain heat started in my guts.

“Perseus – I half moaned the name as he kissed from behind my earlobe to my collarbone.

“Your scent is different,” he growled out, running his nostril down my arm.

“I’ve just had a bath with a strong rose scent.” I shivered at the assault of sensation bombarding me.

“This darn human nose,” he raised his head, eyes still red and ferocious. “It’s not the rose scent. I can pick up on that – it’s your scent.” He wrinkled his nose. “Hey, I can –” Before he completed his sentence, he gnashed his teeth and the red eyes faded back to Cahir’s.

“He was going to say something,” I said to Cahir who regained control of his body.

“I can’t keep losing control like this,” he bit out, a hand raking through his hair. “He took the reins too easily –” He raked a hand through his hair again and then he started to pace, then paused.

“Sihana Asena.” He walked over and stood before me, close enough that our bodies brushed against each other. “Your scent.did change.” His eyebrows met. “It’s like He paused, “No, it’s still there but like it’s being buried by a new scent.” I swallowed at that description.

Did this have anything to do with my new ability? Was that the scent he perceived or was it something else entirely? No, all these could not be a coincidence. The high fever, loss of power, new ability, and now new scent, it was all connected but to what?

“What does it smell like?” I sniffed myself but it was almost impossible for a person to know their scent.

We had to rely on others to tell us what we smelled like

“I don’t know.” He looked frustrated. I felt his frustration. This was out of his control and he didn’t know how to deal with it. “It’s familiar but –” He shook his head.

“Is it a bad smell?” I asked when he frowned again.

“No, it’s just “He growled, his eyes flashing as his frustration mounted. “It’s something I have perceived before but I can’t” He couldn’t remember from where. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

“It’s okay.” I patted his bicep and his eyes flashed red again. “All these may be hormonal like the doctor said. Either way, I’ll see the high priestess by the weekend. Hopefully, she explains what’s happening.” I gave him a smile to hide my worry.

Considering his frustration at the current events, I didn’t see the need to burden him with my manifestation of a new ability but I didn’t have to tell him. I set the bed on fire that very night.
