Healing The Ruthless Alpha

Sihana’s POV

The days that followed after had me researching rogues extensively while trying my best to keep my heart from Cahir. It was difficult but his words replayed in my head ever so often, reminding me that he was incapable of love. Using his words as a mantra didn’t work as well as I expected it to. I didn’t want to but it was inevitable – I was falling in love, slowly but surely

“Uggh.” I felt my stomach turn as I buried my face into my pillow. My whole body ached like I had been run over by a truck, and I felt uncomfortable for some reason.

“Sihana!” 1 jerked upright, gathering my sheets to cover my body as Aristo barged into my room.

“What the hell?” I asked, wide–eyed, petrified and annoyed. “Why are you here and can’t you knock!?” I shricked, the full effect of his behaviour dawning on me. I was naked underneath these sheets and this man who was not my mate just barged into my – Cahir’s room!

“Oh, sorry, sorry!” He put his hands across his face and backed out of the room.

“Ha!” I fought down a curse as I got out of bed. “What a fellow.”

Asides from Aristo being a chronic womanizer, a shameless flirt and a jokester, he was also a rash person, Once again, I wondered how he managed to climb up the ladder to become Cahir’s Beta. My mate says he had his flaws too many of them, but his loyalty would never be questioned and he was the kind of person that worked efficiently, after he procrastinated until the deadline, that is. He

was funny and friendly, a machine on the battlefield as I heard, and a capable Beta despite him making a joke of everything, but these days, he was even more thoughtless.

When I went down for breakfast, he was at the table, devouring a heap of pancakes and a guzzle of syrup with a large mug of tea beside him.

“Good morning. Luna,” he greeted with a grin but his eyes were apologetic. “I’m sorry about earlier.”

“Sorry for yourself,” Asena snarled, irritated at his rash behaviour. It was disrespectful to barge into a person’s room like that and to my wolf, who had been disrespected all her life, she refused to let it slide as just Aristo being a punk.

“Ah, I fucked up, didn’t I?” He asked with a grimace. “I’m really sorry. Desperation made me act rashly. I’m sorry, really!” He apologized over and over again until I was tired of hearing him repeat how sorry he was.

“Fine!” Asena snapped. “What did you want?” She demanded of him. He tugged at his collar after his hands off syrup.

“It’s Cahir.” Unconsciously, my heart stuttered at the mention of my mate’s name..

Be still, you wretched heart. Nothing good can come from loving a man like Cahir Armani.

“Don’t speak ill of my mate, Asena growled at me. She was my wolf, my other half, but it was clear that she would always pick her mate’s side over mine. What a traitor. ‘One of us has to be there for him, the traitor replied.

What happened to Cahir?” I asked, thanking the girl that served me a smaller heap of pancakes. I loved pancakes, I had them as many times as I could, but looking at them that morning. I felt disinterested.

“You have to stop him,” Aristo answered, dumping mo syrup on his dripping pancakes. My kind rarely ever got sick but if I had that much syrup, I would be sick for days,

“What happened?” My wolf perked up.

“He is going to do something outrageous and I can’t stand for it.” He shoved a whole pancake into his mouth and I gaped. The mutt winked at me, chewing and talking “He’s going to pull down the Greyson family.” I sat up straight at those words.

The twins harassing me the other day belonged to the Creyson family, the same family Cahir said he would extort for their wealth, the richest family in Alpha Blood and the second richest in the world – the family that controlled around twenty–five percent of the wealth in the park.

“What? Isn’t that dangerous?” I asked Aristo. “They’re like crazy rich.” And with riches came power.

“It is but your mate is crazy” Aristo shook his head. “I’ve been trying to convince him since yesterday but he didn’t listen. He called a meeting with Dorian Greyson this morning The beta

looked like a man who had been asked to crawl on gravel with his bare knees. “Help me, Sia. I’m overworked as it is, I can’t afford to take on more work!”

“But what did they do? Why is he trying to tear them down?” I asked, making a face at the sweet front of me.

“Do you not want the pancakes?” He asked, eyeing my food. I pushed the plate to him.

“Help yourself.” He grabbed my plate without hesitation. “Now, back to my question. What did the Greysons do?”

“You don’t know?” He eyed me. “They insulted you and they’ve refused to apologize.”

Ah.

Did the father of the girls refuse to atone for his daughters‘ sins or did he refuse to apologize because he had the power and influence to get away with anything?

“I don’t know what else to do. He won’t listen to me but I know he listens to you. If you ask him to forgive them, he’d listen. Please, Sia, we’d have our workload cur out for us if we take on such a family and after that, there’ll be a big mess to clean up. Please, help mel

“Who says he listens to me?” My voice came out weak and a tingling sensation swept down my nape to my

back and waist.

“No one needs to say anything. The plans to bury Silver Moon under a pile of rubble suddenly stopped and I know it’s because of you. Thank you by the way. I didn’t want to travel all the way to that wretched pack.”

“You’re welcome,” the words slipped from my lips with too much ease. I wanted to tell him that I didn’t do it for his benefit but ultimately, stopping Cahir from succumbing to bloodlust would benefit all at the end. Not just me.

“So will you do it?” Aristo asked, leani NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

forward with raised brows and a hopeful expression.

I’ll try.” I shrugged, heat burning my cheeks and ears as he cheered.

To him, it may be that I somehow controlled Cahir’s acts but it was a bargain between the two of us and he

hardly ever listened. When he did. I had to give him something. I vaguely wondered what twisted thing he would want to try tonight.

“Thank you!” Aristo jumped out of his seat and placed a syrupy kiss on my cheeks. I grimaced, grabbing a napkin to wipe my face. “You’re a lifesaver! I’ll leave now! Thank you so much!” With that, he ran out of the Alpha Castle.

“What a child.” I laughed to myself, watching the beta of a man as prestigious and dignified as Cahir Armani run like a little boy.

“Luna, do you not like the pancakes? Have they gotten cold?” The new girl who hovered around me these: days appeared. She had a light blush on her cheeks and she seemed a bit starry–eyed. It

was the Aristo- effect, as I called it. A special effect Aristo had on females around him.

“Nah, I’m fine, Irene.” I beamed at the girl. “By the way, is Maribeth still not back?” I didn’t miss the creepy smiling girl but it had been a week since I last saw her and no one had any information about her whereabouts. She had been visiting family but no one heard anything from her since she left.

“No. She usually vanishes like this sometimes. She will be back. Are you dissatisfied with my service?” She rubbed her nape, her gestures fidgety. I preferred this girl to Beth. Her smile was easy and genuine unlike Beth’s/

“No, you’re alright. I’m not hungry today so I’ll just head to the office now.” I gave her a smile.

“Alright, Luna! Have fun!” She beamed at me and then proceeded to clear the table.

I walked to the pack house, taking my time to appreciate the scenery around me. On getting to the entrance of the pack house, I ran into a burly man. His shoulder hit mine with such force that I fell to the ground. Rather than apologize, the man looked down at me with beady black eyes that glimmered with hatred.
