Healing The 61
Chapter 61
Sihana’s POV

I was surfing on a cloud. Life couldn’t be better. My vacation turned out better than I expected. Who would have thought that the person I was running from would be the same person to make the vacation worth it?
This will be your first bargain,” Cahir reminded me. As if I could forget.
It was time for me to cash in on Alpha Malachi’s blank check. I’d prefer to wait until the end of our vacation but delaying things would make me look indecisive and that was not a good look for me.
“Yes, and I’m buying up shares in the FT Hotels. And because an attack against me is an attack against my pack, Alpha Blood has to receive something.” I replied,
“Foreigners can’t own more than one percent share of TH but we’re going for twenty. Start as high as you can but don’t go lower than twenty,” Cahir advised. “Entering their market with Wolf’s bane is a bargain. they may not accept but pitch it anyway.” I nodded at his advice. I hoped not to fuck it up but as Cahir said, I had nothing to lose.
“Luna Sihana, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” Malachi came out to greet me, shaking my hand before he turned to Cahir. “Alpha Cahir, will you be joining us today?” He asked.
“No, my Luna will take care of this while I get on with my work.” I could see the relief apparent on the faces. My mate pressed a kiss to my cheek and then left me.
Taking a deep breath, I followed the people into the conference room.
The back of my legs touched the bed frame and then I let myself fall backward. The entire thing took two hours and it was the longest two hours of my life. Malachi and his people were eager to reach a deal today, perhaps fearing Cahir would get involved if they postponed or dragged too long. However, their eagerness. didn’t mean they were willing to settle for unfavourable deals.
“No, we cannot do that,” Amora said point blank when mentioned buying fifty percent of FTH’s stock. “FTH is both a property of Mr France and the Manz pack. We’ve limited foreign investment for many years for a reason.”
In the end, the bargain ended at five percent and they would only allow it if I was the buyer, not the pack. Alpha Blood could not own a whooping five percent of a Manz treasure. As for the wolf’s bane, they were surprisingly willing to give us a monopoly of the market.
“I failed,” I moaned, burying my face into a pillow as Cahir pushed away from the desk he’d been working from.
“You did well.”
“Only five percent,” I moaned, turning to face him.
“Malachi drives a hard bargain. You did well.” He pulled me up. “We should celebrate.” When I saw his outfit, my mind recalibrated.
“You – You’re wearing them. My mouth watered as I saw his short shorts. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

When I left for the meeting, he’d been wearing the blue ones which, although not his style, reached to the of his knees at least. This one stopped mid–thigh and hugged him in sinful ways. He looked like a different person nothing like Cahir Armani, the man whose name made others tremble in fright.

“Yeah, do you like them?” He asked, his brow raising inmusement. He knew I liked them–loved them
even.
“Everyone is going to be staring at him, Asena grumbled. I hate it.
“Asena doesn’t like it,” I informed Cahir. “Everyone is going to be staring”
“Who would dare stare at what’s yours?” He raised both his brows this time. I swallowed as my body warmed from the inside. He seemed to enjoy watching me fidget as his lips pulled ups.
“What are you even” I stuttered.
“So easy to rile up, he chuckled and I paused. I’d heard that sound before but it never failed to amaze me.
“Fine.” I huffed. “Let’s go to the beach. I opened my box and took out one of the two bikinis I came with.
“You – You want to wear that.” His eyes sharpened and a smile bloomed on my face.
“Why not?” I grinned. “It’s a private beach, isn’t it?”
Liking him in such clothes didn’t mean I wanted others to see him dressed like that! See how you like it. huh? Asena was botching inside me. No one but us should ogle our mate but in his outfit
“Nothing.” he responded with a wolfish grin.
I should have known from the heat in his eyes that he had decadent ideas.
“I’ll miss this place,” I muttered wistfully as we prepared to board a train back home.
This trip turned out to be better than I anticipated thanks to my mate. Outside of Alpha Blood pack, Cahir could relax and I wished we could stay in the island longer but his Alpha duties called.
“We can return whenever you like,” he assured me but knew he couldn’t leave his duties at will and he’d never let me leave without him.
I slept through the flight back to Alpha Blood, waking when we landed.
“You’re awake.” He spoke as I stretched and my heart stuttered.
It may be an illusion but I felt his attitude had changed. He seemed stiffer now, more upright, and formidable. The eyes that had looked lovingly at me throughout our vacation was hardening and the aura around him turned cold.
“Are you – Is anything the matter?” I asked but he shook his head, keeping mute. A wall formed between us while I scrambled to make sense of things. “Cahir.”
I hadn’t feared being snapped at throughout the trip but now, I called his name with caution, fearing he would lash out at me as he was coiled like a snake ready to strike.

Chapter 61
“There is no problem. Let’s go.” He offered me his hand and I took it with mounting dread.

He’d changed back into the clothes he wore to Manz Island after having them dry cleaned. The brightly coloured clothes he wore on the island remained there. It may be the difference in his appearance that made me feel like something was wrong.
“No, something is off. Asena whispered. ‘I can feel it too
I’m not imagining it?‘ I asked my wolf.
People greeted us as we passed but Cahir pretended no to hear any of them. It was as if he was lost in thoughts.
“You’re not imagining it, Asena confirmed.
I would like to ask him what was wrong but his silence left no room for conversation. We got into the car Melanie sent and again, Cahir ignored the greetings of the driver. I gave the man a smile but he looked like he was used to this behaviour and it was my smile that startled him.
The r ride back home was stifling. Laura and Tony waited for us at the entrance
“Sihama is tired so help her settle in,” he instructed Laura right off the bat. “I have to get to work now,” He kissed my forehead absentmindedly.
“But we just got back.” I watched him in surprise and frustration but he’d made up his mind. His resolve showed on his granite expression. “Try to be back early, at least,” I muttered when he gave me a blank
smile.
“I will.” He pulled me into a brief hug and then turned his back on me, striding out of the house.
I thought we’d become closer but the way he pulled away gave me whiplash. I knew why he became mindlessly possessive and I saw what could happen if he lost control. He’d told me no one else ever saw him in that state and lived to tell the story. His bloodlust was carefully hidden, even from his beta, but I’d seen and I’d understood. Wasn’t that ground enough for us to be closer?
He saved my life when I foolishly endangered myself. We communicated well on the island. I saw that all the things my mind accused him of were born out of insecurity and a lifelong desire to please others. Things were finally going good between the both of us so what happened?
may
be the backlog of work waiting for him. You know he isn’t the type of person to leave things to pile for long so–so he may be anxious to get back to work, Asena supplied but even she wasn’t convinced with her answer.
‘Let’s hope so, I answered my wolf.
“You should have told me, at least,” Laura said as we walked up the stairs behind Tony who carried my bags. “The Alpha almost went berserk.”
“So I heard,” I said in a dry tone.
“He thought you ran away,” she added. “I know you left a note but it was an insensitive thing to do to your
new mate.
“Stop,” I said in a firm voice when I felt a lecture coming on. “Cahir and I already resolved that issue. Don’t antagonize me.”

“Oh, pardon this fretful woman,” she laughed. “I am sorry if I crossed the line.”

“I know you care about him but I don’t like you nagging me,” I confessed. “It may be unintentional but it puts a bitter taste in my mouth.” It made me feel like a wicked person when she talked about all Cahir had to go through, invalidating my own experience.
“I understand.” She bowed her head. “Rest well, Luna. Call me if there is anything you need.” She excused herself after Tony set aside my bag. They both left me alone in my room and I collapsed into bed.
“Why are you such a difficult man?” I groaned at the ceiling.
Cahir said he would return early, but he did not. He didn’t return home that day.
