Chapter 12
Because of the fake drug scandal, Jackson was fired.
Later, he was arrested and convicted of attempted murder.
I hired the best lawyer and sued both Jackson and Elaine.
As per our agreement, Jackson left the marriage with nothing. Elaine was also forced to return all the money Jackson had given her.
In a twist of fate, Elaine’s son was in a car accident.
In her moment of need, she was penniless.
Elaine came to me, gritting her teeth as she knelt before me.
“I’m begging you, please spare my son’s life. I’ll pay the money back, I promise.”
I glanced at her.
“Did you ever think about sparing my daughter’s life back then?”
Ignoring her cries, I turned and walked away.
Jackson later asked me to sign a family forgiveness letter, but I tore it to pieces in front of him.
Guilty of murder and bribery, he was sentenced to fifteen years in prison.
Without enough blood, Andrew bled out and died on the operating table.
Elaine went mad, spending her days wandering near the hospital. Whenever she saw a boy around six or seven, she would call out Andrew’s name.
The divorce was finalized, and Jackson was successfully sent to prison.
I visited Jackson once.
He looked older, his eyes empty and numb.
“Are you satisfied now?”
“I just wanted justice for my daughter”
“How did you find out I was faking the drug results?”
“You didn’t even dare to take it yourself.”
He was speechless, tears streaming down his face.
“Tell Mona I’m sorry. In the next life, I’ll repay her, even as a beast of burden.”
I visited the cemetery, spending time talking to Mona. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
Her sweet smile seemed to comfort me.
If I could go back to the beginning, I would give up everything just to save her.
Later, I founded the Panda Blood Alliance, helping every person with rare blood types get the care they needed.
I couldn’t save Mona, but I could save many children like her.
May there be no more illness in the world. May every child grow up safe and sound.
